Got to say I don't see how that adds up and he may still be under contract as reports say West Ham made an offer in May that Catania refused. It would seem very strange to refuse an offer of any sort when the players contract was going to run out two months later! No Alvarez in Catania's team list dated 6th August 2014. Suggests he could be a free agent to me.
