frustration at our own fans

tbf claret you were bloody awful. we made you look half decent second half by being even worse than that.

The division we got 93 points in last season? Yea, ok. Grow up.

I'm going to get slagged off on here for saying this but, your fans were brilliant in the second half. Could this be a coincidence that your team picked up after half time?

Also Any team that wins an automatic promotion place deserves to be where they are!

In a million years I wouldn't expect any credit, particularly from you. See you in the return fixture. Hopefully we can both have full strength teams out and see how we go.

Funny, just been for a pint with a mate who was there. He said our fans could sense it was coming, just enjoyed the game and cheered the lads home.

Pity our home atmosphere isn't the same.

I don't have a problem with your team individually so I'll say that I wasn't overly impressed with your final ball, your midfield got a grip in the second half and your spirit kept you in it. Had we got a third from the openings we created it would've killed the game.

Juke played well, Arfield and Kightly looked busy, Boyd and Barnes offered very little.

lol

i gave you credit in the post match thread saying you deserved at least a point and that we couldn't have complained if you took all three. you weren't any good though. two turgid, depressing performances today. below par from nearly everyone involved. massively below par from your boys considering how good you keep saying you are, surprised you were all so happy with a point.

But to say our centre midfield was a left back and a right winger, a point (and a couple of goals) feels like a win. With 5 key players back for 3 out of 4 home games, things feel a bit rosier.

you obviously just upped your game against a much bigger side.

I can see why you were pleased with a point, as you would probably understand we are frustrated with a draw.

After reading through various posts on this site it seems some of our fans are becoming delusional just like the ones you get at Anfield. So we beat Man Utd drew with Everton and Arsenal all at home and now it seems we should be thrashing teams like Burnley out of sight. Football doesn't work like that by all means have a go at the team, but wait until the end of the season and lets see where we are then. If we get relegated so be it I can think of a lot of others teams fans who wished they were in the Premiership.

Enjoy the ride lads because its likely to be a rocky one with setbacks along the way along with the highs and lows.

It's not the fact that we should be hammering teams like Burnley. It's the fact that we should be picking up maximum points against them, especially at home.

Posted

People who thought we would thrash Burnley are unrealistic, People that thought we should see out 2-1 with 3 minutes of injury time left aren't.

Posted

I don't think the majority of fans thought we should hammer them, but after easily being the better side 1st half and just 'not turning up' in the 2nd means that yesterday's result was treated like a loss.

Yes it was 2 points dropped as we should be able to see the game out but at least we didn't lose - we are still undefeated at home after a difficult start with 4 teams who are supposed to be challenging a top 4 finish.

I think Savage on MOTD last night got it spot on - we didn't play with as much intensity as we have done and we looked as though we thought we could just turn up today and we would win. Pains me to say it as I don't think Sav is a good pundit at all but that the blatent truth.

These last minute / injury time goals even themselves out over the season. Didn't see many people coming on here after the Everton game complaining that we didn't play to the final whistle.

It annoys me how we don't seem to be allowed to criticize. Someone started a good thread yesterday, made a great point, and some of the replies were "oh you're boring" etc. What's the point in a forum then? There's two sides to it... We have had some great results already this year - Manchester United, Arsenal, Stoke, Everton - but we should be beating teams like Burnley, regardless of previous performances, and Nigel knew it himself hence the way he reacted (and I've never heard him be like that before).

Also, the bit I've highlighted. I just don't get. I hear a lot of people say this, "well at least we're in the Premier League". But there's no point if we aren't going to take points from teams around us/only turn up for certain games. If we get relegated, I'd personally be gutted, especially given our start this season. Sport is about winning and that post/attitude is strange to me.

It's not about beating "teams like Burnley" it's about beating a Burnley side missing 4 of their 5 best players and missing the 5th by the end of the game.

The side Burnley put out yesterday would not get anywhere near the championship play offs. But they fought for every ball and played to their strengths.

We didn't. We shot ourselves in the foot.

I think people like riding their high horses.

I cant believe anyone expects everyone to just smile and not say anything negative about results like yesterday. "Just enjoy it". Those two points could be the two points that keep us up. Strange.

We are nothing like Liverpool fans ,Lliverpool is a big club compared to Leicester and there fans are deluded into thinking that because there team had huge success in 70s and 80s that they are entitled to it every year and are somehow underachieving when in reality apart from last season there team has been shit for years.

I think you would have to be deluded to think that Leicester are not in a relegation fight this season, although i agree that the early sucess has gone to people heads and made them think that the team is better than it is

IMO one relegation spot is taken already with Burnley, I'm not sure with QPR because its not impossible Arry could take them on a winning spree then i think there are maybe 5 other teams that will be there and there about and we are one of them

Again we failed to see out the game instead of continuing to press them second half we get deeper and deeper we should see out injury time. That's not delusional at all.

Again? When have we conceded a late goal in the last 12 months off the top of your head that has cost us points? Massive overreaction, we didn't play well, it happens throughout the season and Burnley were up for it.

We have exactly this line last season in the Championship.  I think Leicester did ok against Burnley last season, so it's a bit empty really.

The whole world will know of Burnley's injury problems because Dyche will have winged and moaned to make sure they do.  Our games against Everton, Chelsea, Stoke and Arsenal were also conducted with a big injury list but the media did not report this because Pearson is too professional to make excuses, especially before a ball has been kicked.

Burnley did well yesterday and respect to them for pushing until the final whistle.  Also, Leicester should have had it wrapped up long before 97 minutes but did not, so it's a frustrating one from my side of the fence.  That's football though, we will get a late, undeserved equaliser at some point and no doubt we will be delighted.

One thing which is entirely unnecessary is Burnley joining a long list of clubs trying to stoke some kind of rivalry with us.  It was a blow to us, fair enough.  But by blowing it up out of all proportion, Burnley fans make themselves seem very small time.

Surely there are bigger things in Burnley's history for fans to get excited about?
