Fox4ever Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Was clearly at fault for their second goal. What keeper stands to the right of his goal mouth when you know a left footer will only curl it to your left as you face him. What a dick............
LCFC Rennie Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I wouldn't say he is a dick, but I would like Hamer to come in.
paddy Agyemang Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Behave hamer makes howlers....preseason so leave it out
Mark_w Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 What keeper stands to the right of his goal mouth when you know a left footer will only curl it to your left as you face him. What a dick............ So he should do it like that?
lgfualol Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 He has saved us with some quality stops this season already. I cant help but think him, like Nugent probably have an "untouchable" feeling. He is just such a flapper.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 How many times has Kasper saved us and consistently performed since signing for us? I'm sorry but some football fans seem to forget that loyalty is a two way thing. Any idiot can show up when all is well and sing and shout. The guy made a mistake, do we boo him? Drop him? Smash his confidence to bit and then question him when he leaves at the first offer? Back your players, you might just get pleasantly surprised.
Itsthejoeker Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Maybe we should chant for Hamer in a WEEEULLL-esque manner?
Freesolo Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Hammer would have been a better choice for Palace a team of giants, he is taller and can cope with set pieces better, the Burnley freekick was just a very poor mistake not really acceptable for a Prem Keeper but it happens, wouldnt drop him for the Newcastle game though
Soar Fox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 So he should do it like that? At least he would have stood a better chance of saving it though. Kasper was absolutely nowhere near it yesterday.

st albans fox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 This is dealt with in detail in another thread. A couple of us think his positioning was fine and the set up of the wall and the fact if failed to leave the ground at the right time was more to blame. Hey ho
ScouseFox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 So he should do it like that? tbf that is also incredibly bad goalkeeping. the fact is he gave him a ridiculously large target to aim at, therefore making his chances of scoring higher. wallace would've usually been aiming right for the top corner, so that it was out of reach of the keeper. that obviously adds a lot more chance of the ball going wide, over or both. but he noticed as he lined it up (and even commented on it in his post match interview) that he'd got 3/4s of the goal to aim for. he then didn't have to risk it going over or wide by aiming right for a corner, as he knew, and then proved, that simply hitting the target anywhere to the left of kasper would've resulted in a goal. the ball was nowhere near the corner of the goal, nowhere near the side netting and nowhere near the roof of the net but kasper was beaten all ends up. bad, bad goalkeeping. as an aside i like that the thread is titled kasper and not schmeichel because even after for years the op, like myself, still can't spell his surname

ealingfox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I'm printing off 30,000 dropkasper.com posters for the West Brom game.
Callabinho Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I don't care what anyone else says, and I've said it before. Hit the target and you've scored. Not even Buffon would have saved that, Kasper could have a wingspan of seven feet and still wouldn't have done anything.
st albans fox Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 But the wall should have stopped a shot from 20 yards out that didn't go in above six feet off the ground. I guarantee that the next fortnights training will involve working on walls. (When Kasper is back although most of those in the wall will be around). When they got in to the dressing room yesterday, who do you think got the most stick from Pearson and who said sorry. Yes, Marty James and not Kasper.
Bert Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Love an over reaction. Everyone knows Kasper should've saved it had he had been in the right position. Only he and probably Stowell understand the reason why he positioned himself there.

Corky Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 I like the fact Hamer, having been written off in pre-season after a few mistakes and less than confident performances, has had one impressive game and is now the goalkeeping saviour. Schmeichel made a mistake towards the end yesterday, no dispute. He's also won us points with some fantastic displays. Last time there was a campaign (this isn't one yet) to change keeper and get Weale in, he made a mistake far worse than any the other one produced. If Hamer comes in then fine, I'll support him. But neither keeper is faultless and I think that's being lost a little on here.
LCFC Rennie Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 You don't change your keeper to cope with the team Says who? **** tradition.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 October 2014 Posted 5 October 2014 Can't believe how many of you seem to be experts on Ben Hamer. You all must of seen an awful lot more of Charlton than I have over the last few years , as I know opinions on this forum are always really well thought out and based on something with substance. A less informed person would think this is a massive over reaction to one slight positional error after years of good service from Kasper and a solitary decent Premier League display from Hamer, but it's ok, I know you all better than that.

Not even Buffon would have saved that, Kasper could have a wingspan of seven feet and still wouldn't have done anything. The way he positioned himself he basically told him you get it over the wall and you'll score. Like Bert said only him and Stowell will know why he went that far over. If he positioned himself better and it still went in then fair enough it's an excellent free kick, but to give him that much of the goal to aim at his bad decision making.

If you play badly, and he has the past two games, then give the other guy a chance How do you think Hamer would feel at not getting a fair crack at the whip? Last time out he played well, so what about his confidence level. To use your own words; "Back your players"
