Oxfordfox83 Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Not sure about the first goal. The initial cross drops beyond Kasper’s far post so I’m not sure you’d want the keeper coming out leaving his entire goal undefended. I’ll need to watch it again. At the time I thought Moore was at fault for leaving Kightly unmarked to go for a ball that he didn’t win. Second goal I still think James’s mistake was the big one. The Burnley guy had 3 other City players closing in on him. No need to make that tackle and give Burnley a free shot on goal. Agree Kightly getting free was the bigger problem, but I think Konch shares some of the blame with Moore. It seemed as if neither knew which of Jut and Kightly was theirs so neither really marked either of them. Watching the first goal back, it wasn't the cross I meant he should come for. Once Jut nodded it back, the ball seemed to sit up for a couple of seconds before falling for the shot, and it looked like Schmeichel had time to claim the ball. Definitely not his fault, but maybe something he'd look back at and think he could have done better. Anyway, as I say, he's done more than enough positive to cover a couple of mistakes and he shouldn't be under pressure at the moment. I would like to see him improve his movement off the line in general, but only to enhance him and us. Each player has something he could be working on, but Kasper's has been clear for a while without obvious improvement.

Konch sees Moore leave Kightly unmarked, and so tries to go across to cover as he realises that Kightly is the danger. The guy who wins the header is very unlikely to score if Kasper stays on his line – which he does and which is the correct decision. Moore has left Konch too much to do and he can’t get there quick enough. And I don’t think Kasper had time to get out any quicker than he did. Kasper and Konch both left exposed by Moore’s mistake.
Matt Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Apparently Kasper Schmeichel is on Goals On Sunday this morning.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 15 November 2015 Posted 15 November 2015 http://coub.com/view/97523 Great save from Ibra's freekick.
st albans fox Posted 15 November 2015 Posted 15 November 2015 He must have a decent view of ibra's approach - he didn't take one step to his right to cover the open side which would be usual. Any movement of his weight that way and he wouldn't have made the save. great agility to reach it.
lgfualol Posted 15 November 2015 Posted 15 November 2015 At least he didnt do that shit that he did against Burnley last season. That would have been embarrassing.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 15 November 2015 Posted 15 November 2015 Saw Schmeichel's save from Zlatan's free kick earlier on - superb stop.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 16 November 2015 Posted 16 November 2015 Wasn't expecting this when doing some on-line shopping...
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 16 November 2015 Posted 16 November 2015 http://coub.com/view/97523 Great save from Ibra's freekick. Outrageous save that!
shen Posted 16 November 2015 Posted 16 November 2015 Apparently Zlatan himself, being the modest man that he is , was impressed with that save by Kasper. Several pundits named Kasper as MotM for the Danes, and probably rightly so. Without him, we'd probably have been 3 or 4 down by the hour mark...
Cincinnati Fox Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Done on another free kick Quality free kick but he gave the opportunity with his position, and zatlan needs no help
Unabomber Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Only a matter of time before big Conrad Logan steps down from that commentary box to consolidate our champions league place.
st albans fox Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Done on another free kick Quality free kick but he gave the opportunity with his position, and zatlan needs no help Are we comparing ibra and Ross Wallace? I would say that a free kick in that position isn't too far from a pen for a player of ibra' quality.
Cincinnati Fox Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 We need a better to keeper to get to the next level
filbertstreet Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Only a matter of time before big Conrad Logan steps down from that commentary box to consolidate our champions league place. But they installed a bench in the commentary box to make him feel at home
shen Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Done on another free kick Quality free kick but he gave the opportunity with his position, and zatlan needs no help Yeah come off it already... On Saturday he had the same position and Zlatan shot for the far corner and he made a brilliant save then. I don't think many keepers would've saved that free kick. It was grazing the post!
Corky Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 It was a fantastic free-kick, harsh to criticise him for that.
Vardinhio Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 Are you guys serious? It was a great free kick and Kasper did well to even get close.
shen Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 Are you guys serious? It was a great free kick and Kasper did well to even get close. Haters gonna hate. It's getting to the point that Kasper could keep 20 clean sheets in a row and still get blamed for something.
goose2010 Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 no keeper in the world would of saved that free kick, it was pure class you wont see one much better than that. It started about 5 metres from outside the post!

It started about 5 metres from outside the post! I bet at least one could EDIT; Ohhh, I thought you were talking about the save he made in the first leg...
CallMeGod Posted 17 December 2015 Posted 17 December 2015 Is Kasper good enough if we want Europe? I just think he's looked vulnerable at times and flapped around at certain shots that other top quality keepers would have saved... Do you think this is a position we should look to better next season if we qualify for Europe?
