Stevosevic Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 What is going on here? I don't get it, the blokes not good enough. Pacey yes, but pace doesn't make a footballer. End product is awful and goes hiding way too often. Can anyone tell me why he is starting so many games?
ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 he must have pearson's icloud password or something he is god damn woeful at football and has been since he scored a hat trick at rotherham in the league cup about 4 years ago yet he still gets picked. this is the premier league for christ's sake we can't have passengers just wandering around cluelessly occasionally miscontrolling the ball or kicking it out of play.
Mark_w Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Because Mahrez clearly wasn't fit to play following international duty, Albrighton has had injury/fitness issues for much of this season and Knockaert has looked suspect defensively when he's played so far this season without offering much if anything more than Jeff.
lgfualol Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I don't think he is as bad as other people do, but it is odd. He's a lot more effective coming off the bench. Why not start Vardy? Why did Pearson put three attackers that have never played altogether before anyway?
StanSP Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 He was very quiet today. Didn't get many touches of the ball at all and wasn't chasing much. Latter most likely down to tiredness from internationals. Disappointed with him but also with others so not going to scapegoat him.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Ah.. we've had a 'Nugent out' thread, now it's Jeffs turn? Where is the 'Is Cambiasso really the best player City have ever signed' thread? Or 'Why has Ulloa dropped his form'? Just a thought..
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 He's shite, that is all. Thanks for the well thought out and considered argument..
Master Fox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Ah.. we've had a 'Nugent out' thread, now it's Jeffs turn? Where is the 'Is Cambiasso really the best player City have ever signed' thread? Or 'Why has Ulloa dropped his form'? Just a thought.. Seriously though. Since Cambiasso joined we've looked abysmal. Ulloa is playing like a sack of shit too.

Or 'Why has Ulloa dropped his form'? Just a thought.. main difference being the two you named played poorly today (maybe ulloa wasn't great last time out either) but it is clear to see what both can offer when they, and the team, play well. if anyone can tell me, or others in this thread, what jeff schlupp is actually good at, or there for, then i'd happily have the thread closed.
Grewks Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I will enter and leave with just a solitary point - Only reason we didn't get beat by Burnley.
Stevosevic Posted 18 October 2014 Author Posted 18 October 2014 Thanks for the well thought out and considered argument.. Can you tell me his qualities at this level?
Ian W LCFC Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I've watched him the last few games he's played and I always notice he is very rarely actually on the wing. His positioning is awful, the fact that his role changes so frequently can't help, but the amount of times he drifts inside and we are left with no width is way too many. Definitely not a winger for me.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Seriously though. Since Cambiasso joined we've looked abysmal. Ulloa is playing like a sack of shit too. This is nonsense! He was class against United
DennisNedry Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I have a long history of criticising Schlupp and not wanting him in the team - and I will continue to do so. He's no better than Elvis Hammond was. Quick but not a footballer. Great cross for Ulloa for Arsenal, but aside from that I can't remember him doing anything of note except blazing chances over and tripping over the ball.
stevelcfc Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 He's not good enough yet, but we have no other options for a pacey winger, missing lloyd imo.
Stadt Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Although Lloyd was pretty limited as a footballer he could actually use his pace and that's what made him affective. Schlupp can't use his body or his brain in a footballing sense.
ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 He's not good enough yet, but we have no other options for a pacey winger, missing lloyd imo. this is the issue here. if we have no options for "a pacey winger" (we do, mahrez, but granted he probably wasn't fit today) then why play a system that relies on us using pacey wingers to have any sort of attacking threat in the game? especially when one of our best players in vardy has to sit on the bench and watch for 60 minutes.
kingfox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Why does he get constantly criticized? We brought him on against Everton & he caused problems, he looked decent against Arsenal got an assist, did well against Chelsea some of his play that game was incredibly intelligent, he & Konchesky looked fairly strong against Stoke, and against Burnley he got a goal, and he & Mahrez looked like the only players who could actually do something. He might have been poor today, but this is a guy who according to the Mercury was expected to return from international duty only this morning. Ideally like Mahrez, he probably shouldn't of started.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Can you tell me his qualities at this level? Can you tell me why he is 'shit'? I've said all along what I believe Schlupp's qualities are. He is strong, powerful and very quick. He's a more dangerous player than Albrighton and can play in more than one position. This is very useful. Today's loss wasn't down to Jeff Schlupp . It was down to a team that lacked creativity, are susceptible to being hit with pace and a strikeforce that had precious little to feed off and work with. Singling out a young player like Schlupp is both ridiculous and unhelpful. Which was my original point. Look at the bigger picture.
ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 Can you tell me why he is 'shit'? christ no, i think there is a word limit on posts

Kitchandro Posted 18 October 2014 Posted 18 October 2014 I don't like him at all. Pulls out of tackles, half-hearted off the ball, no quality with it. Just a dreadful player and he needs to be dropped ASAP.
