Banks Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 He's trying his best to get a chance, give it to him on Saturday.
theessexfox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I'm sure he wasn't directly talking about Tony for most of that quote?
FoxyPalace.com Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 He keeps losing and somebody else will be selecting the players.
Matt Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I've said NP shouldn't be sacked unless he does something dramatically stupid, He is starting to make me wonder with such comments and stubborness. I'll still have faith in him, I still stand by my not sacking him comments but he needs to buck his ideas up, we are crying out for wingers, use them!!! I mean I know this is a Knockeart thread and i'm sorry to bring it up again but Nugent is he really showing he 'deserves a regular role in his Premier League plans'? Really?
Corky Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Knockaert must prove his worth, as must the rest of the players, as Pearson clearly states.

Something has clearly happened between Knocky and Nigel.
Matt Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Something has clearly happened between Knocky and Nigel. They/He needs to get over it then because it could cost him his job.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 5 November 2014 Author Posted 5 November 2014 Knockaert must prove his worth, as must the rest of the players, as Pearson clearly states. yeh, from the past 5 games they have been given chances....has knockeart? no!!!
Corky Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 yeh, from the past 5 games they have been given chances....has knockeart? no!!! Has Lawrence? Has Powell? Has Wood? Knockaert is part of the squad and, although I believe he should be given an opportunity, we don't see what happens on the training ground, inside the club. It might be a case of attitude, possibly tactical reasons, there will be different factors. Who knows, this comment might be the kick Knockaert needs.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Sometimes Pearson comes out with something or says something which makes me really admire him. At other times, exactly the opposite is true. With the form the whole team is in, I'd say now is not the time to be singling out individual players for any sort of special attention, whether positive or negative. I'd be talking to Knockaert in private, keeping things behind closed doors. Sometimes Pearson does or says something which makes me think "unwise".

Well they all must fucking dire on the training ground if they're not getting in the team compared to who is getting in the team at the moment.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Don't understand the fuss, yeh, from the past 5 games they have been given chances....has knockeart? no!!! The team has been rotated, Knockaert hasn't been involved for one reason or another. If his attitude isn't right, he's not applying himself in training, or whatever the reason may be, I'll trust the coaching staff on this. Pearson clearly states there's certain levels of standard that they, the players, must meet, I don't see this as a stupid comment, he was obviously responding to a question. He gives a sentence or two about AK the rest is about the players. Don't let me stop you from finding the deeper meaning in all of this though!
StanSP Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Knockaert must really piss about in training if Pearson is saying he still needs to prove himself. He's had good U21 games and although only against youngsters, it's still good he's performing well in them. I don't get what there is to lose by at least having him in the squad on Saturday.
VLC86 Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 How can players have a chance when we chop and change so much? Last season we were all about key partnerships all over the pitch and this made the difference.
lgfualol Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Anyone else getting a bit sick of this Pearson attitude? Seems like he's been found out and not taking it very well. Great idea, upset our most creative players! We'll just get goals with Hammond's pace.
benpicko Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 yeh, from the past 5 games they have been given chances....has knockeart? no!!! Knockaert's even specifically requested to play in the U21s and by all accounts played fantastically to help them win their first 2 matches of the year. Not really sure what else he can do if he's not given the chance to play. Did he kill Pearson's dog or something?
Aus Fox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 He (Knockaert) has to continue to play well and be available for when the manager decides it is right to pick him, as it is for any other player in the squad. "All the players in the squad need to be ready to take their opportunity and, if they are not, then they deselect themselves. That remains the case on a daily basis. "Any player at any club needs to be ready to take their opportunity. There are only ever 11 starting positions. "If you talk to any manager he will talk about picking the side he thinks will be best to win any game. "I am not interested in an individual's plight and bad luck. It is about players buying into a squad ethic and being ready to be selected and, if they are not, then they won't be selected. "That is no different this year, last year or the year before. "Any player who plays for me must understand what is required. I am not interested in players who are training-ground players or players who hit one height one week and then not the next." Take out the reporters comments, and the direct quote from Nigel is talking more about a whole squad attitude than any individuals, he wants everyone in the squad fit and ready to perform week in, week out. For what its worth I think from what I have seen of TOny in the U21 highlights he looks to be working hard and taking his role seriously. Iwould be surprised if he is not on the bench on Saturday.
poggypogpog Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 100% faith in Nige. One thing bothers me though. He appears to be setting his team up to counter the opposition. Surely we should be setting up to play our own game and let the opposition worry about us. That way we do what we are best at. Knocky would feature in our game and in my amateur opinion we'd threaten more, just like we did in the early games.

gazfox9 Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 I saw Knocky on my way out of the ground Saturday. I told him we needed him on there today. The lad shrugged his shoulders and trudged of in a "what more can I do?" manor.
iancognito Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Knockaert needs a run out, whatever's been said between them. Defend Pearson as I have, I don't understand the 'horses for courses' mentality this season. We had a stable team last season and the "select your team" threads were worthless as we usually knew 8 of starting 11 most weeks. Everything we did last season was pace and counter attack. Mahrez, Knockaert, Albrighton etc must be given a starting role. Knockaert wasn't THAT bad against Everton and he'll learn from his mistakes like the rest. But he needs a run of games to get into his stride. Even if he comes off after 70/80 minutes, give him a chance and he'll tear some defences in this league a new @rsehole. Given the lack of form from Nuge and recently Ulloa, I'd be tempted to have Knocky & Mahrez either side of Vardy and have a tight 3 of James, Esteban and Drinkwater supplying through balls.
iancognito Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Get in lads 28/1 Easy Money http://www.thesackrace.com/competitions/premier-league Load of crap. Even the bookies think there's 11 more likely sackings this season.
suffolk fox Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Nigel Pearson making more stupid quotes in the press. Would help if you picked him then and play some bloody wingers cos the diamond aint working. Perhaps Nigel needs to prove his worth at this level cos at the moment he is failing. Let's be honest here played in the first game of the season since then hasnt been given a look in. Not likely too either with this quote.

Not likely too either with this quote. He played the diamond in the last game, having been criticised for playing other formations. It nearly worked but we lost and he'll probably try something else on Saturday.
