Pearson: Knockeart Must Prove Leicester Worth

As much as i love Pearson as a manager, his media handling is getting worse and worse im afraid.

"I'm not interested in players who hit one height one week and then not the next"

Might help if we stop playing one formation one week and another the next, nige. One position one week and another the next in some cases. Consistency works both ways.

He's been asked about Knocky presumably and given a general answer about the squad I very much doubt he's chosen to single individuals out, he seems against that.

Knockaert needs a run out, whatever's been said between them.

Defend Pearson as I have, I don't understand the 'horses for courses' mentality this season. We had a stable team last season and the "select your team" threads were worthless as we usually knew 8 of starting 11 most weeks. Everything we did last season was pace and counter attack. Mahrez, Knockaert, Albrighton etc must be given a starting role.

Knockaert wasn't THAT bad against Everton and he'll learn from his mistakes like the rest. But he needs a run of games to get into his stride. Even if he comes off after 70/80 minutes, give him a chance and he'll tear some defences in this league a new @rsehole. Given the lack of form from Nuge and recently Ulloa, I'd be tempted to have Knocky & Mahrez either side of Vardy and have a tight 3 of James, Esteban and Drinkwater supplying through balls.

Drinkwater is 1 of the biggest under performers atm, if Pearson is really being honest about his standards then Drinkwater should be dropped, currently the only midfielder not to lose his place during this run of bad form

I'm not suprised Drinkys form is suffering. Being put out on the right of the midfield certainly isn't his best role. Need to be playing our best players in their best positions. DD won't influence games the way he has done for us from right midfield.

he hasn't played on the right, he may have been on the right of a 3 but that's not the same as being on the right wing, he's also played as part of a 2 and was equally poor, stop making excuses he hasn't been good enough yet everyone else gets dropped

No, I will make excuses. If you want the best out of your best players, then play them in their best positions. DD and James ran the show the second half of last season, yet Saturday found themselves playing on the left and right of cambiasso and King. That's not their game, and it reflected in the performances they put in.

What an absolute load of shit.

RDL, Nugent, Drinkwater, Konchesky, Schlupp consistently prove they arent good enough but continue to start games.

He has his favourites that cant be touched!!!

Knockaert simply isn't good enough at this moment in time, players like him are just too inconsistent, if he gets a chance you will see flashes of brilliance, but you could also see him potentially costing us a goal, that's just how Knockaert is.

Even though I don't rate him, I think he deserves another shot maybe behind the strikers though, playing him on the wing in the Prem could prove to be a disaster. Knockaert running round like a headless chicken constantly out of position, because he looks to come inside, poor defensive work because he struggles to track back, play him against Southampton & Tadic will have a field day.

I'd give him a shot against Sunderland at home, if he doesn't perform and he doesn't prove his worth, then simply loan him out.

How can players have a chance when we chop and change so much? Last season we were all about key partnerships all over the pitch and this made the difference.

If he doesn't chop and change the team how can players outside the team get a chance?

Posted

We've been fvcking crying out for a creative spark for weeks in either mahrez/knocky. He could have played behind the strikers on saturday, instead of King, who is just too functional, despite being a great player.

Posted

What is wrong with the managers comments? He has been asked a question about one player and has turned it into a generic "everyone has to fight for their place" answer.

Has everyone seen enough of Knockaert in the 80 minutes he has played in the league that is a more valid opinion than those of Nigel and his staff who see him 6 days a week?

1.) Did you miss Schlupp not starting on Saturday?

2.) Did you miss the other games in which Schlupp and Nugent didn't start?

3.) Schlupp and Konchesky? Who do you want to play left back?!

4.) What did you make of Drinkwater last year?

Give him his chance against Southampton. The majority of the squad are out of form so let's mix it up a little bit and see what he can do.

Posted

I think he was hung out to dry a bit against Everton being asked to mark Baines. That's not his game. Other players have been used in roles which suit them in games which suit them, but that was always asking for trouble.

Also a bit sick of hearing about how much confidence Pearson has in our squad and then the exact opposite appearing to apply to our creative players when Nugent is wheeled out to nil effect each week.

True but is changing the game plan plus 3/4 players every match a good idea? We have big problems and Pearson not knowing his best team and formation is one of them.

1 - I'm making the point that despite being dogshit, Schlupp has had far more pitch time than Knocky.

2 - See above

3 - I wanted our manager to take care of that obvious issue in the summer

4 - If you want to live in the past, go and support Forest.

I don't get people's obsession with what a player may or may not do in training. If performance in training was that important then we might as well erase our promotion in 96 and our league cup win in 97. Claridge was famously an appalling trainer.

Players should be applying themselves in training but there is only so much you can prove on the training ground.

It's always funny how much a player's stock raises when they're not playing.

Knockaert has been absolute garbage in every game he's played this season for the Men's side and his attitude in the Shrewsbury game was an absolute disgrace. He needs to prove his worth on the training field and show that he wants to work for his place.

If he's doing that then give him another shot, if not then he can do one in my eyes.

Posted

if we drop everyone who's been "garbage" in more than one game this season we'll have no players left.
