Jakemoore Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 I want to focus on something positive tonight. We all know what happened, if you were there or watched on a stream then you know we were unlucky to lose. You will know our flaws etc.. So, big positive, schlupp was quality today imo and he was quality last week too. I really think he's found his best position in LM. He can be a bit wasteful but he is very positive and always looks to beat his marker, which he did quite a lot. He's also great cover for konch. And finally, he took his goal so so well. JIMMYWILLIS Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 Last week I thought he was awful. He did well today but still makes some stupid decisions at times
Charl91 Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 It wasn't his worst game, and he certainly wasn't our worst player by a long margin. Very nice goal too! That being said, he isn't good enough for the Premier League, and I doubt he ever will.
SecretPro Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 Agree Schluppy has a good game today and same last week. If he sorted his first touch out he'd be top quality.

He will get better.

ealingfox Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 Apart from the assist, the goal, the constantly outpacing his defender and his defensive cover. If they handed out points for running fast I think we'd have given Dyer a new deal. Defensive cover? Did you see what the scoreline was?

Constantly losing the ball, never knows what to do, end product often embarrassingly poor.He didn't constantly lose the ball. He gave it away a few times because he was trying things. He's far from a finished article but he's only 21. Ealingfox has lost the plot.
1993fox Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 My MOTM was Morgan. The own goal was inevitable considering how much ground he was covering. He put in a mammoth effort today BUT he seemed to lack the leadership spark today. Schlupp was nowhere near MOTM but nowhere near as bad as some claimed. He had a shit first half apart from the cross that led to the first goal, made several mispasses and was to an extent responsible for their second goal (caught ballwatching rather than making crucial interceptions). He was the only player to improve in the second half. LM is his position IMO only because we lack alternatives. Definitely performed better than Matty James who did absolutely nothing today. Some clown said James was MOTM, I don't even know what to say.
StanSP Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 Loved his goal. Decent performance. Still plenty of areas to improve however. I'm sure he knows that and that's not necessarily a bad criticism of him.
inckley fox Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 I honestly thought he was outstanding today. I was saying this about ten minutes before the goal, as well. He's a young lad, a really bright and versatile prospect with pace, strength and qualities in attack and defence. The stick he gets is baffling at times. For instance, this place is awash with people moaning every time he gets the nod at left back and then, in no time at all, everybody's acting surprised that he did a pretty solid job. I mean, this has happened three or four times now. Can't we just accept that he's a decent young player?
Guest ttfn Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 Schlupp was atrocious today. I can't believe what I'm reading from some posters who I had previously assumed had eyes/opinions I agreed with Created 0 chances, completed 70% of his passes and managed 0/3 crosses. He was absolutely dire. I cannot believe that anybody has watched that game and thinks he played well. He hasn't got the foggiest idea what he's going to do with the ball when he gets it, his awareness of his team mates is almost non-existent and his end product is comfortably sub-Dyer. StanSP Posted 29 November 2014 Share Posted 29 November 2014 How can a goal and an assist = 0 chances? It'll just be ingrained in some people's heads that a player will never do right (see Grewks/Nugent for instance). 'Schlupp created 0 chances' is pretty retarded to say about today's performance . What good has he done at all this season? 13 games, what contribution apart from a penalty?
