'Stringer Out' nonsense

Recommended Posts

Check 'results for SpringerSport' on twitter. Hundreds of comments slagging him off or simply questioning his approach - which he ignores, and replies to the odd few randomers who he's brainwashed with his commentary that are telling him he's God. So when you visit his profile, only the comments boosting his ego and his agenda against Pearson are shown! Too scared to even interact with any of the people who don't say exactly what he wants. Ian, you'd make a good reporter in North Korea

I noticed this afternoon that a 'Stringer Out' account has popped up on Twitter.

There has also been a lot of flack directed at Stringer flying around on here.

My message to whoever is behind this Twitter account is to grow up, shut up and f uck off.

I don't personally know Ian Stringer or have any hidden agenda. I do, however, happen to know quite a lot about radio journalism and BBC local radio, and I'm getting pretty ****ed off with armchair experts deciding how good or bad a job they believe Stringer is doing.

That said, it's all very well sharing opinions about who we like and don't like on the radio station on which we rely for City coverage. But to start calling the guy some of the names that have been used on here and to start calling for his job is too far.

Stringer does a job that he quite obviously loves and he does it to the best of his ability. In asking the questions that he does, he is only carrying out his job. What's more, he is under pressure from his producer (s) and editor to make sure he does indeed ask these questions.

This aside, he is the most charismatic and entertaining matchday presenter we have had for years. But that is by-the-by.

I can assure you that working on BBC local radio doesn't pay anywhere near what you might expect and, furthermore, many contributors are freelance only with little or no job security.

Ian Stringer has a young family to support and all of this 'Stringer Out' nonsense serves only to put his means of earning a living at further risk.

We're all angry about what's going on at the club, but venting frustration at a local radio presenter is absolutely f ucking pathetic.

Whoever is behind this Twitter account needs to pipe down and grow up.

Well when you get Stringer to do it praps the fans will follow suit.

So Stringer has chipped away at Nige since his return and everyone else is at fault.

The bloke is a knob of the highest order and has no thought for anyone but him self.

I personally hope he is sacked before Sundays game.

The BBC is supposed to be impartial he is not he has his own agenda.

SO FVCK HIM

He's a dreadful reporter who is clearly pushing a personal vendetta backed by money from the public.

You reep what you sow. Stringer OUT.

He went to the Indy Kaila school of journalism.

Stringer is a disgrace, he doesn't even wear club merchandise. He got ALAN YOUNG SACKED who now works in Morrisons (he's doing a fine job as personal shopper), he deserves the same treatment! STRINGER OUT STRINGER OUT STRINGER OUT

'Great Nigel Pearson interview (post match) by @StringerSport. He only doing his job he is paid to do. The stick is unfair. #LCFC'

Just listened;

I can't hear any agenda, he's just asking the question that anyone would expect under the circumstances.

It's more about Twitter that has riled people.

It appears he has gone to a national newspaper with evidence from one fan on twitter that has seriously damaged the reputation of our manager and made it look like whole sections of the crowd are abusing him.

If this is the case the organisation that employs Stringer should be looking into him and the club should be taking measures to ensure he can't damage the football club anymore.

I think Stringer should be in the head/arm lock thing they used to have in the medieval times for a bit, he needs some kind of punishment for this slander.

He asked  a stupid question about the relationship with Nige and the owner, we don't need to know that, but other than that he's just doing his job. If his reporting actually gets on the BBC, regardless of whether it's true/false or right/wrong, it's just his job.

So a massive proportion of his target audience don't think he's good enough, but it doesn't matter because 'it's his job'. I hope I end up getting a job like that.

Well I think the account is a bit ridiculous and normally I don't have a problem with Stringer but I really didn't like the way he interviewed Pearson last night. He knew Pearson was angry and frustrated and asked questions designed to provoke him.

Having said that, Nigel didn't do himself any favours either. After the previous "fan" altercation and subsequent interview, I think he would have been better served if he'd sent Shakey out to do it.

I suppose people would have used that against him as "hiding away from his shameful actions" or some such bs though, so he wouldn't win either way.

It was all very uncomfortable to listen to.

That's what he does when we are doing well. Nigel isn't afraid to stand in front of the media when times are bad or after we lose.

Imagine if he sent Shakey. Some posters on here would be having a field day.
