johnny the fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Eh, not his fault today - we created enough chances to win 5 matches in the first half, and should have equalised straight away: but we keep wasting chances, like we're afraid of scoring. It's ridiculous, but the buck stops with the players infront of goal, not with Nigel - the set up was right, and if anyone could shoot straight we'd be walking away comfortable winners and out the relegation zone. The problem is the forwards, not the manager. you are fookin joking arn't you.. who's players are they?
lgfualol Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Don't think his coaches are helping. Kevin Phillips has done a backwards job. And you have this bloke as his assistant.
Bettsj2 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Posts from the likes of 'The Doctor' are really starting to grate. It's excuse, after excuse, after excuse. I'm fed up of hearing it, and reading it. It's boring. There is nowt more to be said. It looks like after ten years in the wilderness, we are going back there once more. This. Still waiting to read some posts saying 'well, there's no proof that starting Kramaric would have given us a better chance at winning' or 'lol loads of games left' Anyone who thinks Pearson can keep us up is a blind fool. If we go down, we will not come back up straight away if he's in charge.
Guest Col city fan Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 you are fookin joking arn't you.. who's players are they? This..In fact no, I'm fed up saying it.. Christ knows how anyone can still defend it. you are fookin joking arn't you.. who's players are they? This..In fact no, I'm fed up saying it.. Christ knows how anyone can still defend it.
SecretPro Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Have to agree with Col. Only so many excuses you can make for being rock bottom of the prem. That's a lot of bad lucks worth.
Sly Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Peter Taylor's available... He can't spend any money so he can't do any worse!! On the team. Teams make their own luck because eventually things will equal themselves out over the course of a season.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I'm still surprised people can defend him after today, I've only just turned the corner because I can't anymore. His antics with McArthur were beyond embarrassing as well.
The Doctor Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 you are fookin joking arn't you.. who's players are they? Once they step onto the pitch, the manager loses a lot of control - this isn't FIFA: Pearson can't make Ulloa not run away from the balls forward, he can't make Nugent not panic in front of goal. The set-up worked quite well, the amount of good chances we had was testament to that - the problem was players making stupid decisions, and it's a different player every week, not as if we can even identify a weak link and remove them, because the weak and strong links change game to game.
Fox92 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 This. If we go down, we will not come back up straight away if he's in charge. We're three points off of 17th. Granted our next four league games are very tough but we've still got to play Sunderland, QPR, West Brom and Hull City among others. Not saying we'll automatically win but they are teams around us, teams we can beat. It's far from over. People saying we are already relegated, in January when we are three points off of safety, are blind fools.

You can apply that same logic as an excuse for every sub-standard manager in history.
stingray Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Yeah, clearly Nigels fault that Schlupp can't shoot straight, or that Nugent took an extra touch after rounding the keeper and closed off his angles, or that Simpson fell asleep and let them have an easily preventable corner... Changing manager isn't going to stop these acts of stupidity on the pitch. Rather than being the non-committal king of hindsight, why don't you state clearly what you think will solve the problems. He picks the players, chooses the team (and chokes the opposition). Not up to the mark. Bring back Neil Lennon.

It's nigel's fault for picking those players. I trust you understand that concept because it's not really difficult to grasp.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Just to point out a slight inconsistency with people's arguments, who exactly are we dropping for Kamaraic.
SecretPro Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We're three points off of 17th. This 'only three points from safety' thing has been rolled out all season, where are these three points coming from? Oh, there coming from those games we CAN win against THOSE teams? You mean games like Palace at home?

'We're 3 points off 17th' Love it.
Bettsj2 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 It's too late to sack him now anyway Never too late.

I don't know where the three points are coming from either. I just get fed up of the "we are already relegated" rubbish. We're not.

Col City fan and his negative brigade of sheep are really starting to grate. Yes, we're going down, but NP is the man to stay in charge. And I hope he and the people in charge of transfers have learnt from mistakes bringing the wrong players n. Be proud and appreciate the team are giving 100% despite lacking quality, we are still trying to pass it and playing the right way. I'm so proud of how our team have got balls and never give up despite constant setbacks and appreciating that makes you a true fan. Not constant criticism.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Only 3 points off 17th supports the argument of getting somebody else in.
inckley fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 He picks the players, chooses the team (and chokes the opposition). Not up to the mark. Bring back Neil Lennon. There have been too many unbelievable team selections, too many goals conceded from set pieces, too many subs too late in the game when our better players are tired and less effective. It's the first time I've ever said it, but he needs to go. He's learnt nothing. I have to add that I was amazed to see people arguing that Nugent should be ahead of Kramaric because he's proven his worth. The fact that he's our record signing, or thereabouts, and we made that investment at a time when we needed to bring players in to add firepower should indicate that he's either a) much better than what we've got or b) our manager doesn't know how to use the resources available properly. And on top of that look at the lack of dignity with which he conducts himself. Slating Burnley, grappling with opposition players, banned for telling his own fans to f off and die. Why not turn to your players and remind them, as every other successful manager at this level consistently does, that a lot more is required of them? The people who said he should have gone in November - and I wasn't among them, sadly - were entirely right.
MHC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Peter Taylor's available... I'd prefer Neil Lennon.
