Recently consistently average and others get dropped but he continues in his role - Drinks would have performed better alongside James in the second half today. Baffled.

cc_star Posted 7 December 2014 Posted 7 December 2014 He's pretty average, but think he could be good in a disciplined CDM role so not wasting his energy playing box-to-box but he's not good enough to play how we're needing him to. I'm very disappointed in him given his pedigree, but there's not a lot of quality around him - If he wins the ball then looks to setup an attack by playing it left then it goes to Toblerone boots Schlupp and if he plays it right then it goes to Mahrez who can only ever play ok for 45mins then is woefully wasteful for the 2nd 45mins

Literally. To argue anything other is futile. I agree with Corky and is the same point I've made for weeks. He should not be used as a box to box midfielder. He tires after about 60 mins, we get over-run and concede. Not that that's all his fault. It isnt. It's how Pearson is playing him. I'd be doing exactly what Rodgers has said he would do with Gerrard. Get him further forward and underpin him with a defensive midfielder. Lucas typically, I suspect.

Great control, great passing and vision. Still an asset to us but unfortuantely he hasn't got the raw quality around him to take advantage of his class.

He has a great touch and good distribution but consistently gets overrun by quicker midfielders. DD and James have a great understanding built on last year and I think it's time to rest Cambiasso personally. PS. Not for one second have I blamed Esteban for our current plight...

You need to stop with the Beckford thing, there is no comparison. Beckford was just shit, Cambiasso is being asked to do everything when he shouldn't be.
