GaelicFox Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 The premiership is a bit of a let down 1, No local derby to enjoy 2 Tickets over priced 3, Stadiums all sterile and all much of a much 4, The atmosphere is shocking in some of these grounds 5, The City away following seems to becoming institutionalised to being reserved and they are a little under performing like the quaint and hospitality driven mainstay teams in the premiership 6, Impossible to park near premiership ground 7, Price of beer and pies crazy 8, Programmes are silly money 9 The half and half scarfs are fecking everywhere and driving me mad 10, We are on TV less ( I think) 11, And most importantly we loose every week Let's celebrate our likely relegation like a prodigal son returning to a long lost championship mothers embrace
Fox92 Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Whilst I agree the Premier League is overrated and overpriced, I'm not going to "celebrate" our relegation (which is not confirmed but does look likely tbf). I want the club to compete at the highest level of football, but competing being the enhanced word there. There will be a local derby next season when Derby come up though. Our followings and support have been good for me though but the players don't deserve it. Atmosphere comes hand in hand though, if they we aren't performing on the pitch people will become more frustrated. I saw a heated argument and a fight on Saturday at Upton Park, one of which stemmed from people arguing over certain players' performances on the pitch. I knew this season would be difficult, but I thought we'd have put up more of a fight and been harder to break. Everything's just to easy for the opposition and I honestly can't see where our next win is coming from.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 That first post is bloody difficult to read. For what it's worth I'm pleased we're not in that hole of a division anymore, course it has it's positives but how anybody that supports City can not want us in the top tier is beyond me. It's just a struggle, it was always going to be.
Steven Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 The premiership is a bit of a let down No local derby to enjoy Tickets over priced Stadiums sterile a all much of a much (apart from West ham) The atmosphere is shocking The City away following seems to becoming institutionalised to being reserved and under performing like the quaint and hospitality driven mainstay teams on premiership Impossible to park near premiership ground Price of beer and pies crazy Programmes are silly money The half and half scarfs are fecking everywhere We are on TV less ( I think) And most importantly we loose every week Let's celebrate relegation like a prodigal son returning to a long lost championship mothers embrace Why stop there? :xmasunsure:
hesapeepingtom Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Only cause we are shit.if we was 17th and making more of a fight we d all be loving it.this is where we belong,we don't have a right but we belong.but Leeds could say that as well.
6ups 6downs 2 cups Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 That's it, if we looked as though we were in with a chance of staying up, it'd be nervy but exciting, esp knowing our run in is ok(if we were half decent). It may still happen, but if anyone seriously wants to 'enjoy' the championship again, dig out the LCFC highlights from 2004-2008 and have a rethink!

hesapeepingtom Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 And considering our time in the top flight as always historically been a struggle did people really expect any different? No but I think everyone expected Better than what's been dished up.
Fox92 Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 And considering our time in the top flight as always historically been a struggle did people really expect any different? No but I expected us to give better performances, both individually and as a team, and I didn't expect us to be bottom. In fact, I didn't expect any other side apart from Burnley to be bottom all season but Dyche has proved me wrong. Not picking up anything against the likes of Palace, QPR, WBA, Villa etc has been criminal.

Guest Col city fan Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 You sound like a lost soul who is trying to cheer himself up, by claiming relegation will be more preferable than survival. Spot on DT. All this 'we'd be better off in the Championship' is actually a bit pathetic. Where is our bloody ambition!
cjslcfc Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 As much as we are struggling at the moment, the standard of football and the buzz of being in the top division and playing against the top teams is far greater than anything the Championship could offer. Let's not kid ourselves that the Championship is any better. It's far worse and I'm so happy that we are (at least temporarily) able to play in the best division in the world. I despair at those who are happy to settle for the Championship.
SecretPro Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 All these people on here litterally jizzing themselves at the prospect of the championship. Grow up.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Spot on DT. All this 'we'd be better off in the Championship' is actually a bit pathetic. Where is our bloody ambition! We've had to wait ten years for this, and people are getting complacent, and appear perfectly happy to drop back down again. Now, I ask, what sort of supporters are they? You and I both know we have to make some changes, and fight for our top level spot. As you so rightly say, some people have no ambition.
Kitchandro Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Bet you were loving it after 5 games. The only reason it's shit is because we're losing and ticket prices are more expensive. In every other way it's far superior to the Championship.
SecretPro Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 I bought this up in another thread a few days ago. These are the worst kind of fans - no ambition, harking back to times gone by/lower leagues, banging on about how good lower league football is. Bore off ffs. If you want to watch sh*t lower league football go to Oadby Town.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 A lot of people on here are starting to sound like they are going through a messy and emotional breakup. Premiership played hard to get for such a long time, we built up an ideal image of what she would be like, acted like excited teenagers when we finally got together and now we're realising she's not much like we thought she'd be. That realisation is followed by the inevitable sour grapes, people saying they never liked her in the first place, loads of self-pity and declarations that we're just not good enough for her. No doubt we could do better if we spent more.
hesapeepingtom Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 We can't even include the money excuse really. burnley spent less and 5 points better off.it's about managing with what you got. I'm sure burnley are happy with their position, making a fight of it,giving themselves a chance and I bet their fans are enjoying the season more than we are.the argument may be it's only 5 points but to us by our current ratio that would take over 6 months to catch up.
chicagofox Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 The Premier Lwague would be all it's cracked up to be if we were winning the odd match and being competitive.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Sorry but no... I'm glad we finally got out the championship... and don't want to be heading back there, I want to see our club progress and grow. We had 11 years of playing in the leagues below... I have to say bar last season it was pretty terrible

Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Say we needed to win the final game of the season to stay up would the Championship lovers want us to lose? I am demoralised with the Premier league experience this season but still desperately want us to be in it.
Karljohn Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 I haven't been impressed with any team we've played so far, as poor as we've been over 17 games, no team has really looked good. It's no wonder the England team is going backwards if this is what Hodgson has to pick from, the likes of Sterling, Henderson and Hart..average footballers.
Stevosevic Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Spend ten years outside the premier league and people start to believe the championship is the place to be.

So English football is a waste of time then. There isnt a single team in England who are impressive. No players, teams, managers, nothing.
