Sir Fynwy Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 He's been hit by a lorry, looks like it might have been a suicide attempt.
Dan Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Horrible story if it was genuinely a suicide attempt
Bert Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Hope he pulls through. Depression is an awful thing.
Tuna Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 I am very saddened by this, I hope he pulls through. Depression is a cruel and indiscriminate illness.
Sir Fynwy Posted 22 December 2014 Author Posted 22 December 2014 Hope he pulls through. Depression is an awful thing. A silent killer, so many people's lives are blighted by it.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Very sad to hear, seems to come across as a genuine decent guy. Hope recovers soon.
DB11 Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Have to feel for the lorry driver as well, especially if Clarke Carlisle deliberately did it in a suicide attempt and driver couldn't do anything about it.
Sir Fynwy Posted 22 December 2014 Author Posted 22 December 2014 Have to feel for the lorry driver as well, especially if Clarke Carlisle deliberately did it in a suicide attempt and driver couldn't do anything about it. My ex brother in law had a 15 year old kid commit suicide under his lorry, it changed his life and not for the better.
Bert Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 A silent killer, so many people's lives are blighted by it.One of the worst things someone could ever go through.
johnny the fox Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 thoughts go out to the driver, him and his family..
Guesty Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 We should maybe be careful before putting 2 & 2 together and assuming it was a suicide attempt just because he has depression. It might just have been a car crash where someone made a mistake. Whatever the case hope he pulls through.
separator Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Not a good day for traffic incidents after Glasgow, the nutter in France and now this.
Tuna Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 A very selfish way to do it if it was suicide. Very ignorant, when you are suffering as Clarke obviously was you do not think rationally about the consequences of your actions.
LCFC FOX Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Very ignorant, when you are suffering as Clarke obviously was you do not think rationally about the consequences of your actions. the lorry driver will never get over this. He will always feel like its his fault. I feel for him. It's very sad that Clarke wanted to commit suicide and I hope he recovers. But making someone else suffer is the most selfish thing you can do.
ScouseFox Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Very ignorant, when you are suffering as Clarke obviously was you do not think rationally about the consequences of your actions. so if you get diagnosed with depression you can do whatever the hell you like to anyone at any consequence and just say "i was not thinking rationally"? hope he pulls through and can sort himself out, sounds awful. poor bloke.
Sir Fynwy Posted 22 December 2014 Author Posted 22 December 2014 so if you get diagnosed with depression you can do whatever the hell you like to anyone at any consequence and just say "i was not thinking rationally"? hope he pulls through and can sort himself out, sounds awful. poor bloke. Mental illness is totally misunderstood by lots of people, your post is evidence of this.
ScouseFox Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Mental illness is totally misunderstood by lots of people, your post is evidence of this. clearly. so if he blew up a school or went on a mass murdering spree you'd be ok with that because "he's obviously not thinking rationally"? still wrong whether he's got depression or not. still, we don't know what's really happened here and the main point is everyone hopes he can get himself back on track for his sake, the drivers sake and the sake of everyone around him, must be horrible for them all
Stadt Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Very ignorant, when you are suffering as Clarke obviously was you do not think rationally about the consequences of your actions.Jumping in front of a lorry is a selfish way to kill yourself
Tuna Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Jumping in front of a lorry is a selfish way to kill yourself I'm not suggesting there are rights or wrongs in this, but I don't feel your comments are particularly helpful. Its all too easy and comfortable to criticize people for attempting suicide.
StanSP Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 Very tragic if it is depression/any mental illness which has caused him to do this. Either way, whatever the reason I hope he recovers from it, both physically and mentally. Has it been confirmed as suicide attempt?
Asha Posted 22 December 2014 Posted 22 December 2014 I can't imagine how it could be anything else sadly. What else would he be doing walking about on the A64 at 7.30am?
