Premier League Players Missing Due To AFCON/Asian Cup

What other players in other teams will be at a detriment due to players going off to Africa or playing in the Asian Cup?

It kind of slipped my mind that other teams will suffer as we've just been focusing on Mahrez/Schlupp for ages lol

Off the top of my head...

Algeria:

Mahrez

Nabil Bentaleb (Spurs)

Mehdi Abeid (Newcastle)

Cameroon:

Alex Song (West Ham)

Senegal:

Kouyate (West Ham)

Mohammed Diame (Hull)

Papiss Cisse (Newcastle)

Mame Diouf (Stoke)

Sadio Mane (Southampton)

Diafra Sakho (West Ham)

Ivory Coast:

Kolo Toure (Liverpool)

Yaya Toure (Man City)

Cheick Tiote (Newcastle)

Wilfried Bony (Ivory Coast)

Ghana:

Schlupp

DR Congo:

Yannick Bolasie (Palace)

Australia:

Mile Jedinak (Palace)

Japan:

Maya Yoshida (Southampton)

South Korea:

Yun Suk Young (QPR)

Don't know if I've missed anyone out but West Ham along with us seem to suffer the most. Unfortunately, not many other teams around us in the league have any African/Asian players off on International duty - other than Hull but I'm not sure how much Diame has played for them. Palace have Jedinak away who will be a big miss for them though.

It'd be interesting to hear what Riyad and Jeff think about the AFCON. You'd hope that they'd rather stay her with us.

They can't say that though can they lol

Added in Bolasie now.

Due to the impact of the respective players, perhaps Palace suffer just as much as us? Bolasie has always stood out for me and a Palace fan I know always raving about the influence Jedinak has on a match. Even more so when you lose your captain.

I want Senegal to get to the final. Not only does it mean it hurts the other teams more than any other country being there does, but they're in Ghana/Algeria's group and it therefore means at least one of them is back within a fortnight.

Said it a while ago though I fancy Algeria to go all the way. Technically an absolute mile ahead of any of the others.

I actually think Bolasie chose not to go last time so that could be the case this time as well?

I hope they don't. That'd show a complete lack of ambition on their behalf and I want to see players committed to their countries. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them stay here and not go but if they actually didn't want to go, then that would be pretty poor. It will do them good to test themselves in a big tournament and hopefully they'll come back even stronger.

Losing Mahrez and Schlupp is going to be tough, I can't pretend we'll be alright because in recent weeks they've been involved in almost all of our goals. I think we're praying Tom Lawrence can hit the ground running and either Knockaert or Albrighton can suddenly produce if called upon. At least we're showing some real fight at the minute so short term we might be able to scrape through.

Burnley, QPR, Hull, Palace, Sunderland, WBA......wont be missing out like the foxes. They happen to be the teams in the relegation fight with us.Our misfortune is our AFCON players are now our form players.

Swings and roundabouts 2 players drift off after finding/giving quality performances, another

3 Hammond, Nugent, Drinkwater coming into form, with James showing sloely good signs.

If a Knocky or a Albrighton can show upward and slight improvement and an Angel from nowhere

Storm into the side a Powell or Lawrence, we may just hold out.

Squeaky tighten bum time, you could say !!!
