I’ve just booked to go Sri Lanka for my honeymoon in October, so i’l be looking for lots of tips when you return! Enjoy the Lion 🍺

I went last year and it’s probably one of my best ever holiday's, and I’ve been lucky to travel quite a bit.

would definitely go back.

we toured quite a bit, with a private guide but was just blown away about everything.

where are you going in Sri Lanka?

more than happy to give you guidance.

Absolutely fantastic,i love my cricket and that would have been the icing on the cake for me.Not so much the wife.

Kandy is a fantastic city,so if you get a chance to go there, you won’t be disappointed.

Happy to put my two penneth  in nearer the time.

Thanks for that. I imagine it'll be a combination of Colombo, Galle & Kandy. No Test cricket (unfortunately), T20 & ODI's only (which the Mrs will tolerate!)

Off to Thailand in a couple of weeks starting with 3 nights in Bangkok, can anyone recommend a rooftop bar to watch the sun go down?

Thanks

The skybar is great, but expensive. Its the one they used in the Hangover movie.

Had a very very bad trip to Riga in 07.

Wont put it all on here as it involves other Leicester fans, but all I will say was it involved a man dressed as a giant rat, in a Latvian courthouse

(Think Ross, Friends, Holiday Armadillo)

Going to Sydney in late November. What, apart from the obvious, should I be doing?

Awesome place. The food is brilliant.

Go to the blue mountains. About 20$ for return train ticket, quite a nice journey once you're out of the city. It's a full day but definitely worth it.

Get over to Manly too and do the North head and one of the quieter beaches.

If you read the more recent output elsewhere from @The Year Of The Fox the context for my jocular suggestion may become clearer...

Northern Beaches.i was staying with my mate’s relatives many years ago in Avalon/ Newport right at the top.

Ferry across from circular Quay to Manly.Start of the Northern Beaches

i don’t know if centre point tower still has a restaurant or observation area, but that was good.

if you have time and don’t mind travelling “The Blue Mountains “ are worth a visit.

Just back from our second trip to Marrakech this month, this time we took some friends and it was lovely, they were very sceptical but enjoyed it.

Now looking forward to May and 12 days split between Croatia and Slovenia, flying in and out of Zagreb. We have a week down near Pula, followed by 5 days in Slovenia between Zagreb and Ljubljana. Can't wait!

Any suggestions welcome for either area

Bought flights to Turkey for a week in late May, right before the protests there kicked off.

Now looking at booking hotels and activities etc. Reckon it's fine to proceed as planned and hope things settle down by then?

The interior of Istria is rather beautiful in parts and culturally quite interesting. You should find a little konoba in the countryside near Motovun and get some typical food.

I travelled by train between Ljubljana and Zagreb once and it looked really beautiful. May time will be perfect I'm sure. In Slovenia you might want to go to Hrastovljie which has an interesting history and beautiful church paintings. That might actually be easier to get to from Pula than Ljubljana.

I love Trieste too. Not sure how far that would be but in a car probably like 90 mins - 2 hrs drive.
