kingfox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Middlesbrough at home. Pearson against the side he used to play for, and I get to see Bamford.
I blame Wellens Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Forest at... Oh sorry the ****** are out :-)
Unabomber Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Middlesbrough at home. Pearson against the side he used to play for, and I get to see Bamford. Do you fancy him? Seriously
Claridge Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I'd be absolutely delighted if I were a Wigan fan. They were always likely to fade away eventually and their stay in the PL was probably going to be their only chance to win anything. They should be very thankful they did. Yea u can tell by the massive crowds they get now they are cup winners. Stay up and we can build something really good, go down and by Riyad, ulloa and any players wanted by prem teams would probably go.
1993fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I would absolutely relish Derby away. Forest at... Oh sorry the ****** are out :-) I'd love to see all 3 east midland teams in the PL, a season just doesn't feel right without one
Dan Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Cambridge away. I've just looked up train prices and they are absolutely dirt cheap too.
The Blue Moon Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Easy home draw to progress. Relegation is inevitable but we have a realistic chance of winning the cup if we go all out for it.
Matt Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Fancy Birmingham away for some reason, not sure why, just do!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Will be Cardiff or a long trip like tat no doubt
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Easy home draw to progress. Relegation is inevitable but we have a realistic chance of winning the cup if we go all out for it. Odd POV. At the moment I'd say relegation is the much easier task. We don't have to beat top 10 Premier League teams in order to achieve that.
MickyAdamsBaby Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Someone like burnley to beat them and totally de-rail their season
The Blue Moon Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Odd POV. At the moment I'd say relegation is the much easier task. We don't have to beat top 10 Premier League teams in order to achieve that. Yeah, obviously relegation is more likely hence why I described that as 'inevitable'. But I also said if we go all out for the cup we can realistically win it and I stand by that. It's not 'inevitable' like relegation but it's a realistic target.
Dan Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Will be Cardiff or a long trip like tat no doubt **** sake I forgot those no-marks are through. Saying that I think we are so badly due a result there.
The Doctor Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Yeah, obviously relegation is more likely hence why I described that as 'inevitable'. But I also said if we go all out for the cup we can realistically win it and I stand by that. It's not 'inevitable' like relegation but it's a realistic target. Relegation isn't the more likely though, nor is it inevitable - we're a couple of points off, playing all bar one of the 4 directly above us at home in the next 18 matches. Avoiding relegation is easier than winning the cup.
Footballwipe Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Would love a game like Birmingham away where we could take 5-7k, however many they'd give us. Loved it when we took 8,000 to Forest, whether Derby would let us have that as they'd probably sell out for a cup final I don't know, but I'd love an away game where we take a massive end (Of course 9k at United away would be great too.) If not for a large allocation then any smaller team away. If we're going to be lumbered with a no-mark match like Cardiff, Preston etc then please let it be at home.
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Never put anyone on ignore before but I really can't stand reading through Blue Moon's drivel anymore.

The Blue Moon Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Relegation isn't the more likely though, nor is it inevitable - we're a couple of points off, playing all bar one of the 4 directly above us at home in the next 18 matches. Avoiding relegation is easier than winning the cup. I'll agree avoiding relegation is more likely than winning cup statistically look at the odds. But my point being I'm happy to accept we are probably down, the slim chance of winning the cup (perhaps 5% chance) could be increased significantly (to perhaps 15%) if we went all out to win it. Rather than resting players for league games like most other Prem teams. Hate it how the cup plays second fiddle in modern fans' eyes but you can use it to your advantage if you're the only team exploiting that. That's how MON got us to 3 finals in 4 years, taking a competition more seriously than our opponents did. At the end of the day, winning trophies is what matters not who came 14th in the Premier League.
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Yeah, obviously relegation is more likely hence why I described that as 'inevitable'. But I also said if we go all out for the cup we can realistically win it and I stand by that. It's not 'inevitable' like relegation but it's a realistic target. How is relegation more likely when it's far from being confirmed? And how can we "realistically" win the FA Cup when there's still a few rounds to play for with some heavyweights in the mix, too? Survival in the Premier League is the only realistic target right now - you don't go out there and "plan" for a demotion to the Championship only.

So, you agree that survival is more than possible, but think we should abandon it to have a slightly less long-shot at winning the FA Cup
Dan Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I agree with the blue moon to an extent here although there's absolutely no reason we can't go for both. Sunderland were in a final and a quarter final last season and stayed up despite being bottom at Christmas. Hull stayed up in their first year 'despite' being in the FA Cup final. The relegated sides? Cardiff - Out in the fifth round (co-incidentally beat Newcastle in round three). Norwich - Binned out in the third round by Fulham. Fulham - Lost at home to Sheff Utd in the fourth round. What an absolute myth. A shame that people actually buy into it despite the fact it actually promotes losing. Bolton, home. To tie in with Cardiff beating Newcastle in the third round last year, it was Bolton they beat in the fourth
