Villa Pre Match Thread

OK, didn't read the whole tread so I might be asking an already answer question.

You play in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Schlupp left, Mahrez right. The one is out for three weeks with an injury and the other at AFCON. What I gather their alternatives are Albrighton and Knockaert. Can they preform at a needed level?  I don't really remember Knockaert from the games I watched (to be honest I watched only thrre LCFC games this season) and Albrighton was solid at Villa but nothing special. A month is a long time without two players from the starting line up. There are quite a number of games to be played. You've been playing quite well as of late but without these two it's going to be more difficult.

I see you're interested in Lennon. I remember him as a fast, but not too clever player. Well, he's got the speed, can cross. Would be a solid option. Are you looking at a left wing as well?

I think albrighton will fit in fine and provide very good service. Knocky? Who knows? It's only Villa who are not much more than a championship team so I reckon he'll do well.

Would love Lennon though.

Burnley winning is not the worst result, as long as win as well, anything but a QPR win.

Whatever happens elsewhere, we win and we are back in with a chance.

yeah that's true. a draw would be best, as we'd gain 2 points on the both and be within a win of both teams, but a burnley win also means we are only a win away from overtaking them both, too. just think we could do with something stalling burnley's brief run of momentum. much like ourselves they'll be bouncing after coming back not once but twice to pick up unexpected points over the new year's fixtures, and a home win and then a game vs palace at home the week after could genuinely see them flying come the cup game.

they've then got sunderland away followed by west brom at home, if they do keep hold of ings and get a run going they could get some serious amount of points in the next month.

Two of our possible best players will be out for this one. Acknowledging this, Knockaert, Lawerence or Albrighton might step in on the wings. I think the team will have some good confidence heading into this match though, following our recent run of results.

Ah well that's alright then!

Still annoys me to this day that result. Never ever will you see a closer definition of 'two points thrown away'.

Had a look at your fixture list. Fvck man. You're in the driving seat. You just need to stay in touch with the other clubs during the AFCON (a win on tomorrow and against Stoke would help) and not lose at Burnley.

Last 8 fixture. 5 home games, 3 away. Last game home vs QPR. The deicider.

4.4. vs West Ham

114. @ WBA

18.4. vs Swansea

25.4. @ Burnley

2.5 vs Newcastle

9.5. vs S'hampton

16.5. @ Sunderland

24.5. vs QPR

The main worry is though tripe they're the kind of sides we slip up against. We haven't beaten a single team on that list in the league. In-fact Burnley (who were very much weakened that day) and Sunderland are the only ones we didn't lose to. Depressing really.

Yip. I know. You get much better results against a teams that are stronger than you (Everton, Arsenal, United, Liverpool...)

I'm looking at it as an optimist. The stronger sides will take you more seriously now. It will be harder to get a result now. You need to start winning the matches that give you double points (QPR, Palace, Burnley, even Villa tomorrow....). You've got Palace at home, you've got QPR at home on the last matchday. You'll have Newcastle and Swansea, both mid-table with no worries about relegation at home. 5 of the last 8 are at home.

Oh definitely, there's definitely a better chance of points in those games than away at places like Arsenal, Man City etc...

Hopefully with players like Kramaric and others who come in we'll actually be able to attack these sides properly. I've maintained from the start that a lot of them aren't actually that good.

I can see it coming down to the last day.

Optimistic(but as always ready for that false dawn!)

1-0

Shit on the Villa....

How have we got on the last few times King and James started together in a midfield 2? Genuinely can't remember them playing well together.

Last few games of 2012-13 they were good together. Great together away at Watford in the play-offs.

Leicester Police have invoked section 60 stop and search powers for the match (8am to 8pm).

Where is the best stream for the game?

I see you also talk about first 11, too. You can play PENIS or JOINT like us :)

Ask tripe to explain ;)

We certainly have something to make up for after that somewhat ridiculous 2-1 loss at Villa Park. They weren't even that good, we just made them look good.

With the newly-found self-confidence, I have high hopes. May the not-losing streak continue. :)
