Narborough_fox Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Probably the biggest game so far this season, considering that West Brom vs Hull and Burnley vs QPR also play each other on Saturday. Win this and we really do pull ourselves back into it. Got to be a 4-4-1-1 for me... Hamer Simpson Was Wes De Laet Albrighton Cambiasso James Knockaert Nugent Ulloa Introduce Vardy near the end of the game against tiring bodies. Albrighton crossing into Ulloa is a good option whilst Mahrez is away down the right. Wasn't overly impressed by Knockaert or Lawrence on Saturday but I'd probably go with Knockaert due to him having a bit more first-team experience. 2-1 win.
Guest ttfn Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Definitely not 442 because that's why we lost at villa park. Hamer Simpson Wasilewski Morgan De Laet Cambiasso James Knockaert Lawrence Nugent Ulloa We lost at Villa Park because we played dreadfully. At least we scored which is more than can be said for any of our efforts at a 5 man midfield. I'd have the same team as you but with Nugent in behind Ulloa.
Father Ted Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Hamer Simpson Wasyl Morgan De Laet Albrighton James Cambiasso (if fit) Knockaert Nugent Vardy Subs: Schwarzer, Moore, Lawrence, Ulloa, Wood, + any 2 fit centre mids
Finn Claw II Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Same team as above but Defoe up front. Big big game, 3 points brings us back into the fold.
foxfanazer Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Maybe a bit early to call it a 'must win game' but it's certainly a huge one. Confidence seems to be on the up and we look up for the fight so it will be a good indicator of where we are imo. Hope we don't drop Hamer as that could really knock his confidence.

Completely agree buddy (congrats on the recent betting wins btw!). It is a must win really and Hamer needs to keep his place in the side.
Stadt Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Villa haven't scored more than once away from this season.
Gary Eatfood Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Villa haven't scored more than once away from this season. Alan Hutton had never scored for Villa prior to playing us.........
Stadt Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Alan Hutton had never scored for Villa prior to playing us.........That was just poor from Schlupp, it suggests Villa are quite negative and we'll have to break them down which we struggle with.
ScouseFox Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 we win this we have one hell of a chance of staying up. simple as that imo. we lose and we're gone.
Gary Eatfood Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 That was just poor from Schlupp, it suggests Villa are quite negative and we'll have to break them down which we struggle with. Yes but it also suggests that we break hoodoo's for other teams! Don't get me wrong, Villa are shocking. I have no idea how they've managed to amass 22 points so far. The games on Saturday are huge and to have any realistic chance of staying up we need to be beating Villa at home. Would also like to hear a loud chorus of Alan Hutton what a willy puller sung on Saturday.
The Guvnor Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Just hope Marcin chins Hutton, after the final whistle of course!
ealingfox Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Bear in mind Villa have scored so few goals all season we will have to score 4 or more to win this.
lestajigs Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 Bear in mind Villa have scored so few goals all season we will have to score 4 or more to win this. You know it mate
Dickov22 Posted 5 January 2015 Posted 5 January 2015 I cant believe some people still pick Knockaert ahead of our other wingers the reason Larence was out on loan was to be ready to play for when Schlupp andMahrez went and Albrighton will be up for it against his old team Maybe because Knockaert had a decent game on Sat and was literally everywhere? People have short memories
Spicer Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Cambiasso was only taken off as a precaution wasn't he? And I thought King and Drinkwater were supposed to likely be ready for next week? I thought it was precautionary, but I don't know if has healed or deteriorated. If he is fit then he will start with James in CM.
Benguin Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 IMO this is going to either be 0-0 or 4 or 5-0to leicester. Can't see villa getting anything out of it. Can't wait to be there though, the atmosphere will be incredible for this fixture.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Any win will do but I'd love a gritty one nil win, keeping clean sheets and being solid at the back will help confidence, being hard to beat is what we need
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Hamer Simpson Was Wes De Laet Albrighton James Cambiasso Nugent Ulloa Kramaric
Wrighty22 Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 we win this we have one hell of a chance of staying up. simple as that imo. we lose and we're gone. Wouldn't go as drastic as that as if we loose if depends on other results around us. If we win this and with our ever growing confidence it will set up a very nice run for us. Expecting 9/12 points from next 4 games.
Fosse93 Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 It is vital we pick up 4/6 points from these next 2 home games, as we have a tough February coming up. We just need to stay in touch ready for that final run in of 8 or so 'winnable' games - call me crazy but i'd actually be happy with the table looking as it is now, teams around us have tricky ends to the season with ours looking seemingly easier. It's so important we win against Villa though, it will drag them right back into it and we desperately need to keep this momentum going. Don't want our bubble to burst just yet!
SecretPro Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 Saw this on BBC Sport from the Sampdoria v Lazio gane - think we should do the same against Villa.
Mjeb Posted 6 January 2015 Posted 6 January 2015 ITS A MUST WIN GAME , AND STOKE WIN WOULD BE GrREAT . Up the CITY Wee can do
