Villa Pre Match Thread

Probably the biggest game so far this season, considering that West Brom vs Hull and Burnley vs QPR also play each other on Saturday. Win this and we really do pull ourselves back into it.

Got to be a 4-4-1-1 for me...

Hamer

Simpson

Was

Wes

De Laet

Albrighton

Cambiasso

James

Knockaert

Nugent

Ulloa

Introduce Vardy near the end of the game against tiring bodies. Albrighton crossing into Ulloa is a good option whilst Mahrez is away down the right. Wasn't overly impressed by Knockaert or Lawrence on Saturday but I'd probably go with Knockaert due to him having a bit more first-team experience.

2-1 win.

Definitely not 442 because that's why we lost at villa park.

Hamer

Simpson

Wasilewski

Morgan

De Laet

Cambiasso

James

Knockaert

Lawrence

Nugent

Ulloa

We lost at Villa Park because we played dreadfully. At least we scored which is more than can be said for any of our efforts at a 5 man midfield.

I'd have the same team as you but with Nugent in behind Ulloa.

Maybe a bit early to call it a 'must win game' but it's certainly a huge one. Confidence seems to be on the up and we look up for the fight so it will be a good indicator of where we are imo.

Hope we don't drop Hamer as that could really knock his confidence.

Completely agree buddy (congrats on the recent betting wins btw!). It is a must win really and Hamer needs to keep his place in the side.

Alan Hutton had never scored for Villa prior to playing us.........

That was just poor from Schlupp, it suggests Villa are quite negative and we'll have to break them down which we struggle with.

we win this we have one hell of a chance of staying up. simple as that imo. we lose and we're gone.

Yes but it also suggests that we break hoodoo's for other teams!

Don't get me wrong, Villa are shocking. I have no idea how they've managed to amass 22 points so far.

The games on Saturday are huge and to have any realistic chance of staying up we need to be beating Villa at home.

Would also like to hear a loud chorus of Alan Hutton what a willy puller sung on Saturday.

I cant believe some people still pick Knockaert ahead of our other wingers the reason Larence was out on loan was to be ready to play for when Schlupp andMahrez went and Albrighton will be up for it against his old team

Maybe because Knockaert had a decent game on Sat and was literally everywhere? People have short memories

Cambiasso was only taken off as a precaution wasn't he? And I thought King and Drinkwater were supposed to likely be ready for next week?

I thought it was precautionary, but I don't know if has healed or deteriorated. If he is fit then he will start with James in CM.

IMO this is going to either be 0-0 or 4 or 5-0to leicester. Can't see villa getting anything out of it.

Can't wait to be there though, the atmosphere will be incredible for this fixture.

Wouldn't go as drastic as that as if we loose if depends on other results around us. If we win this and with our ever growing confidence it will set up a very nice run for us.

Expecting 9/12 points from next 4 games.

It is vital we pick up 4/6 points from these next 2 home games, as we have a tough February coming up.

We just need to stay in touch ready for that final run in of 8 or so 'winnable' games - call me crazy but i'd actually be happy with the table looking as it is now, teams around us have tricky ends to the season with ours looking seemingly easier.

It's so important we win against Villa though, it will drag them right back into it and we desperately need to keep this momentum going. Don't want our bubble to burst just yet!
