gurru991 Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Six points from our next two games would put us in a decent position. Points will get harder to come by as the second half of the season progresses.
Alexikokopops Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Vlaar out for 6 weeks, nice. Yeeeeeeeees. Here's a link to it http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30731933
Babylon Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Cambiasso is out on Saturday. Hammond and King trained, Drinkwater has not trained yet but could make it. Jeff has not gone to ACON but Pearson hopes it won't be too long.
Unabomber Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Very big shame about Esteban, I feel sick with worry about this game.
ScouseFox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 don't need or want hammond for a home game vs a team who can't attack to save their lives. Drinky king and james if we go three, or Drinky james and nuge in the hole pls. if we set up defensively for this I'll weep
AKCJ Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Shame that as soon as we've earnt a bit of momentum the squad is literally decimated, notably our midfield which has been our strong point all season. Here's hoping Drinky makes it and starts with James. Shame about Esteban, these small niggles take older legs forever to shrug off.
Corky Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Hamer Simpson Morgan Wasyl Konchesky Albrighton King James Knockaert Nugent Ulloa
ousefox Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I'd rather go Hammond and King/James - think those two are too similar. Only one midfielder available from our last win is frustrating
Dan Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 I actually feel confident of a win for the first time since the Burnley game and I've no idea why. I feel like we're heading back in the right direction again. A crap side (they are crap, do not claim otherwise) who score every two games. Absolute kind of dross we usually make a mess against. I shouldn't be too confident but I just am.
Father Ted Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 Looks like it will be James and King in the middle, however I'd prefer James and Hammond and then let the attackers roam as much as they like.
Brooksy Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 No Vlaar for Villa Great news, win this and I believe we can stay up.
tripe Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 OK, didn't read the whole tread so I might be asking an already answer question. You play in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Schlupp left, Mahrez right. The one is out for three weeks with an injury and the other at AFCON. What I gather their alternatives are Albrighton and Knockaert. Can they preform at a needed level? I don't really remember Knockaert from the games I watched (to be honest I watched only thrre LCFC games this season) and Albrighton was solid at Villa but nothing special. A month is a long time without two players from the starting line up. There are quite a number of games to be played. You've been playing quite well as of late but without these two it's going to be more difficult. I see you're interested in Lennon. I remember him as a fast, but not too clever player. Well, he's got the speed, can cross. Would be a solid option. Are you looking at a left wing as well?

Are you looking at a left wing as well? it's going to be tough without those two and nobody is entirely sure whether Albrighton can fill the void. Knockaert is a bit of a strange one, he has the ability to win games single handedly when he's on form. He's unfortunately quite inconsistent and can get caught in possession often. He's scored some worldies for us though, you should check them out on youtube!

People seem to have dismissed Knockaert and Albrighton based on very limited appearances this season. Knockaert has a bunch of tricks up his sleeve but gets criticised for being slow - I personally think he'll be good enough for this league once he's given a run in the team based on his form in the last couple of years. I haven't seen enough of Albrighton to judge him. We should also see Lawrence at the very least off the bench - a youngster from Man Utd who did well on loan at Rotherham by all accounts. The fact we have very few central midfielders available will mean we won't go 433 without wingers too, thankfully. There hasn't been to much speculation on wingers other than Lennon and I would be surprised if he came here.

foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2015 Posted 8 January 2015 first thing he'd see on youtube will be watford yeah ignore that ome Tripe. Although he gets revenge the season after Watford are a second tier team by the way, their biggest day was winning a play off semi final!
