Ross-Kemp Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Struggling now, good innings from Finch, not a very costly drop by Woakes when he was on 0 . Aussies look likely to get around 350 now, pitch looks so flat.Good couple of quick wickets there, I'll settle for 300 of less.
Vacamion Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 This ain't over. It probably will be when Morgan walks for nowt. As an aside, why does the coverage have to include microphones on shouty Aussie types? Most annoying.
chrishlcfc Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 320 at least with the fielding restrictions, possibly nearer 335 I'd guess, need wickets badly again.
Vacamion Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 We've little or no chance of chasing this down. Disappointing not to take our chances before chucking pies down in the last 6 or 7 overs.
Aus Fox Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Positive Finn got a hat trick against the host nation in a World Cup and a five for. Negitive 343 to chase down.

Bobby Hundreds Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 The graphics and styling on this World Cup are like something from the 70s. It's well budget.

leicsmac Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 All out for under 150 anyone? No, now actually thinking about it this England team like to give us a hope spot so there'll probably be a reasonable partnership soon to push us past 200 before another collapse finishes us off. Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Christ this is embarrassing. All well and good saying we are 'a team in transition' but if the captain can't score a run then how can you justify his place?

Bobby Hundreds Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Losing 4 wickets to Mitchell Marsh, who lets face it is a very ordinary bowler, is pathetic. *Now a 5 for.

The People's Hero Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Steve smith is a fantastic fielder. Marsh has bowled with good discipline. This is a good Australian performance but shot selection and execution generally has been awful. But of sympathy with butler there although he had looked awful till that shot. Classes apart really, these two sides in ODI terms.
The People's Hero Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Losing 4 wickets to Mitchell Marsh, who lets face it is a very ordinary bowler, is pathetic. *Now a 5 for. Agreed in some respects. I think you're being a bit harsh on him. He's bowled with exceptional discipline and made the batsmen work for their runs (which England did not do with the ball). He has bowled well. Well enough to force a Michelle ? No. Poor from England who don't seem to be able to bat under pressure. Pretty good at putting a bad ball away but when bowlers bowl well, we just don't have the application or nous to engineer even 4/5 an over through working it around. It's nothing, nothing, poorly executed big shot (harsh on butler perhaps) wicket.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 We're probably guilty of playing the man rather than the ball. Knowing how MJ has had it over us for 18 months, they probably saw Marsh as where they could score some runs.

Guest MattP Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 Buttler and Bell can be considered hard done too, two aggressive shots that just fell to either a brilliant catch or a bit of bad luck. All the others could be avoided though, Marsh is a part time dobbler at level, should still be able to rotate the strike with medium pacers despite accuracy. Other major problem we have is our death bowling, it really is awful, little variety and the full ball isn't even used it seems. Hard not to see us 0-2 with NZ away next up. WE WON THE TOSS?! Hahahaha Christ on a bike Morgan. Baffling decision. Really was. Botham was surprised when he chose.
The People's Hero Posted 14 February 2015 Share Posted 14 February 2015 I disagree on bell. That was a trap and he walked straight in to it. He's done that before in the 30s/40s when well in. If you take that shot on it needs to be further in front of the wicket in relation to that fielder or you need to clear him altogether. I know this is a bit harsh perhaps but it's only because bell is so key for us and he needs to be held to high standards. Bell is top class.
