Half way through transfer window...

...Has it really been as effective as it should have by now? There was lots of talk of needing 4-5 players to come in to give us a fighting chance of staying up - especially defenders of which we have so far signed none and don't look like we will (as there are no decent one's going). So far we got an ageing keeper (still good enough) but which wasn't really a priority (OK, so turns out we did need a back up keeper but this comes to light after many of us agreed we needed 4/5 outfield players) and obviously Kram who COULD turn out to be the business up top. Maloney possibly on his way in but looks likely to be more of a squad player (though I'd start him every game).

So, how do you feel the transfer window has been so far? Pleased? Dissapointed?

I think we are doing ok, although plenty of rumours it's perhaps been slower than I'd like and the main area I wanted to see strengthened hasn't been. In fact I find this pretty worrying - last few games we havnt looked SO BAD at the back, but for the 14/15 games before then we looked dire and frankly the market in decent defenders is pretty piss poor right now...

I have to say that I think we seem rather more active than any other window that I can remember. I pray that Kram is business - would of course be rather un-city-like......

Nice to see NIGEL getting into the spirit of the Premier League, you have got to play the game and work it in you favor.

I think we only need a left back now assuming Maloney comes in. Wes & Was have defended pretty well in the last few games.

Left back is priority at the moment I think, not sure I rate Konschesky there. A left winger would be nice but don't see that happening.

It's like the summer window all over again.. Plenty of speculation

.no action!!

Two signings already done, another one to come, two more weeks to go.

You what?

Yeah I mean we've lost every game since 1st January haven't we? If we'd put in some decent performances or results it would have hurried them along a bit.

I thought we were doing rather well. 2 signings made and another seemingly on the way, one a marquee signing. How does that compare with other clubs? Usually it's hard to do business in January as everyone is waiting on everyone else and agents know they are in a strong position.

Typical Leicester - Maloney deal 'collapses' and still no work permit for Kramaric. So in 'real terms' we have signed a new sit on the bench 'old' GK. Fabulous!

Typical Leicester fan moaning for the sake of it.

and we haven't lost since the window opened, so why is it a problem?? You are stressing about something you have absolutely no control over or the club really. They can do anything about Kramaric and just because we had a bid accepted for Maloney it doesn't automatically mean its our fault it collapsed, if he wants to go to the MLS he obviously isn't going to sign for us!

While I don't normally side with the "negatives" - I think it is worrying that we can't prise a 31-year old winger from a club facing relegation to League One. If he'd rather that than come to the Premier then perhaps he's not the kind of player we want anyway. BUT, we have already invested quite a lot of time on trying to get him here, time we could have spent getting someone else here. And if it's personal terms - I can't really understand why these weren't discussed at the onset. It sounds alot like the summer when players seemed certain to join us - MacArthur and Campbell for instance -but then didn't. I'd assumed Robinson was at fault but now it's happening again. It's also worth pointing out that Sky rated the Kramaric work permit at 50-50. I don't know how they arrived at that but again we may have put a big effort into a transfer that may not happen. Of course it was never going to be easy but it does seem to be unusually difficult for us....

Can't discuss personal terms until the bid has been accepted. Conjecture - but club probably wanted to give him and 18/24 month contract, he I imagine wanted 36 months to see him out till the end of his career. Club stood their ground, as they did with Lloyd Dyer, and shit happens.

I'm sure every side in this league feels like they need 4-5 players....

With the exception of Man City, no one has made a squad changing signing in my eyes.

Kramaric, if it goes through, would be the second biggest transfer this window.

Did you think any of this through?
