danfox76 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Until mathematically we are down I'll keep the faith. But that was disappointing. I like NP, but i think this is poor management. Best team: Hamer Simpson - Was - Huth - Schlupp Albrighton - Hammond - James - Mahrez Nuge - Kramaric When Kram came on he was too far back for me. Had to go looking. thats because he came on when they were defending the lead with 11 players behind the ball, pearson made a massive fail doing that to him.. he should have chucked him on at half time when it was 0-0
Bilo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We have to get some points from the big teams. We cannot lose the next three games. The only game where we have even half a chance of a single point is Everton. Even then, they'd have to be on the awful form they were a few weeks back for us.
Gerard Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 No game is a "must win" game at this stage of the season. It was a big blow not to win today but as things stand we are still only three points from 17th. We need to finish above three clubs so lets hope at least three out of these four really continue with their struggle (Burnley, QPR, Hull, Villa). Palace will be hard to catch now and I think Sunderland and West Brom will be too. But the former four are terrible as well and having as much problems as what we are. I just hope the next four games we stay in touch with these clubs and don't leave ourselves too much to do for the final ten game run in.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 You've just said you think we're down with 14 games to go and 3 points off safety. Id say you're the hopeful pessimist. Look at my posts (Ok I know youre probably not that sad) but I've been saying all along we'll stay up and backing the team. However, just think regardless of league position, we don't have the right team for PL. Even if we all started at 0 now, reckon we'd still finish in bottom 3 I'm afraid

Could you honestly see us leading for over an hour at the Etihad and leaving them sweating over an equaliser? QPR and Villa lost by single goals against top five opposition and Burnley will likely get something against West Brom tomorrow. We not only need to improve, we need teams around us to play utter shite for the next three months.
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We can't beat teams like palace at home. We look clueless. Today was crucial, we look doomed.
pazzerfox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We have a serious problem of no knowing how to win football matches in the Premier League. Teams have been no better than us, they just have that know how, that experience and that ability to close games out after scoring. We have some quality and exuberance but no real know-how. The inability to not score chances is also costing us, even half chances have to be taken at this level as this is the difference between surviving and being relegated.
z-layrex Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 If we can't best Palace at home that decides it. We should not be in this league. What a ****ing waste of time.
Mayofox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 At least it won't be a wasted season if we win the FA Cup.
Bilo Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 At least it won't be a wasted season if we win the FA Cup. We won't and it will be as a result.
lgfualol Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Hard to believe we have the same team that started the season though, playing great football, hard working, running non-stop. We've deteriorated into a team low on morale, calmness, leadership and fight. Sad.
Frank to be Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Silly we're so close and just need to get a bit of luck. Have faith in the manager you lot he'll know what to do!
Fox92 Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 17 points after 24 games. And what? Anything can happen, it's football.
Kitchandro Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 We're finished. Today was a 'must win', we were nowhere near good enough. The players and management are quite frankly a disgrace.
DennisNedry Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 It does look very bleak now. Even the eternal optimist would look at the situation now and rationally think we're going down.
lgfualol Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Silly we're so close and just need to get a bit of luck. Have faith in the manager you lot he'll know what to do! Well I wish he'd hurry up! We're a broken side.
RowlattsFox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 You can't lose at home to palace, west Brom and Stoke without scoring, and fail to beat Sunderland and burnley of you want to survive. Home games are pivotal and we haven't took advantage. I won't give up but I'm not far away. We need a bit of luck and need to hope we are still within touching distance by the time we've played Man City to have any chance.
peterborofox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Going down, not good enough at all. Can't concede shit goals like that. No quality up front at all, just endless missed chances and strikers who can't finish. Pearson and his tactics and selection also not helping, wtf is he not starting Albrighton for? Why swap keeper around, why keep Ulloa on the pitch when he plays shit??
MHC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I wouldn't sack Pearson either. We'll retain a good core of players and he'll have them playing well next season. Need a few young players in there, a left back chiefly and some wingers. There's no evidence he's lost the dressing room. How do you know he'll have them playing next season? Even if he does achieve that and takes us back up he will get us relegated again because he isn't good enough for the Premier League not now not ever. He may not have lost the dressing room but he has lost a majority of the fan base. The part of the fan base who care about the club that is.
s11nny Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Gonna be very tough. Taking an average from the last 5 seasons we would need approximately 38 points to survive (another 21 points so that's 7 wins or whatever combination of draws and wins) We have 14 games left: Arsenal (A) Everton (A) Chelsea Man City (A) Hull Tottenham (A) West Ham West Brom (A) Swansea Burnley (A) Newcastle Southampton Sunderland (A) QPR Its all good saying we are only 3 points behind but you have to bear in mind other teams still have as much a chance as we do of picking up points. You have to look at the bigger picture. It's of course still possible but it's also hard to see where we would get our wins to make up the points. I'm gonna try my best to stay optimistic!
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 I just don't get the team selection. I have backed Pearson all season but today I'm wavering and struggling to find positive''s.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 It isn't over, it's just a very difficult situation to get out of. Performances are not as poor as some suggest so I still believe we can get out. I'll admit I now think that's unlikely to happen though.

Frightening to think that the only one of those teams we actually managed to score against was Burnley.
