ADK Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Radio 5 report that Pearson left YESTERDAY after having a meltdown post-match. Never knew Pearson read Foxestalk.
Dukes not bald Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Terrible decision. More scrapping Tuesday between our fans ?
MooseBreath Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Actually makes a lot more sense if Pearson has walked out, probably for some petty issue that insulted his ego like being asked to apologise for the strangulation incident
Clayton Neal Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Warnock for the job!! I know my shit, I go to every single game and Pearson even sent me a signed shirt last year. If you don't believe me I will fight you!!! Warnock or Gary megson for me!
EGBFitness Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Have a read of SydenhamFox at 7.05pm. Good post, pretty much got it in a nutshell. 'Legend' has become a term used too easily these days. Pearson is not a LCFC legend, he's been a very good manager for this club, up to a certain level. Promotion from L1 was not difficult and if you remember was helped a lot by Manderic's backing - allowing Pearson to keep any of the championship players he wanted and not just sell them off (yes, we were awful during the relegation year, granted). The Championship campaigns under Pearson we sometimes very good and sometimes pretty ordinary. Since the summer, unfortunately Pearson has shown his hand in two damaging ways; a) his player recruitment has been poor (we needed 4 or 5 key signings to strengthen areas of the team that you could anticipate would be lacking at Prem level - and he just didn't do this in the summer and b) he didn't learn and develop as a Prem manager during the course of the season. It was all a bit samey and easy for the opposition to get the better of us. Personally, I think the more we struggled, the more he seemed to want to give off this macho bravado, demonstrated in his rather pointless and foolish display with the Palace player on Sat. That moment, summed it up, as did his completely unneccesary refusal to communicate with our local radio station. Whatever you might think about the RL presenters etc, as a manager, you have a professional duty to work with local media to communicate with fans. This is just standard in modern sport, in an age of social media and 24 hour coverage. His actions penalised the fans, not the radio station. Martin O'Neill can be classed as a legend here. He did not build a team that lumbered at the bottom of the Prem after he got us promoted, far from it. Jimmy Bloomfield, another possible candidate for this accolade given the fantastic side he put together here. Arthur Rowley, absolutely a legend . . . and so on. Nigel Pearson?? No. Good post. Not taking anything away from the work he has done, he has built a solid foundation here and has got us from the dumps of League 1 back to where we belong. A lot of questionable incidents since the summer with recruitment, media, tactics etc. Will always be grateful of what he has done but he is not a LCFC legend.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Warnock for the job!! I know my shit, I go to every single game and Pearson even sent me a signed shirt last year. If you don't believe me I will fight you!!! Warnock or Gary megson for me! Cue ****ing hilarious parody account!!
BlueSi13 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Legand think that's way over the top He was good at the lower levels Premier league not upto it Take it Ferguson wasn't up to it either then? After all Manchester United fans were desperate to get him out of the club as soon as they could.
Stevosevic Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Anyone think they want to name the successor when they confirm he has left? Makes me think it will be a short team deal for this season.
MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Warnock for the job!! I know my shit, I go to every single game and Pearson even sent me a signed shirt last year. If you don't believe me I will fight you!!! Warnock or Gary megson for me! But in all honesty, what have Warnock and Megson achieved in the past to warrant the job? Can't be but a wind-up.
Oxshottfox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Chinese takeaway? Ericsson back to finish the job?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 We wouldn't be here without Nigel, the majority of the owners money prior to this season went on average Championship players signed by the crappy appointment they made before Pearson. They've made one good decision in their time here, appointing Pearson, and that's it. Their best decision was today, but I believe they have left it too late. Pearson put us in the mess we now find ourselves in, and will still be responsible for our relegation.
ZeljkoKalac1 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Strange decision giving the size of club we are. A message to the Pearson out brigade.......be careful what you wish for because now you have it.
MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Their best decision was today, but I believe they have left it too late. Pearson put us in the mess we now find ourselves in, and will still be responsible for our relegation. And you know this how exactly?
Grewks Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 'Not having enough time' is not an excuse I want to hear from any cretins on here When, not if, the new manager sends us down. The new manager has plenty of time.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Chinese takeaway? Ericsson back to finish the job? What job? He messed it up. He messed the club up. A certain Pearson cleared his mess.
Mark_w Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 And you know this how exactly? He's right, Pearson took us from League One to the Championship play-offs, left, came back with us in a shitty financial position and mid-table in the Championship, cut costs and got us into the mess we now find ourselves in.
Grewks Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Their best decision was today, but I believe they have left it too late. Pearson put us in the mess we now find ourselves in, and will still be responsible for our relegation. Terrible logic. But hey ho....let me try and use it If we hadn't re-signed Pearson we wouldn't even be battling premier league relegation, we would still be in league 1.
Burmesefox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 He walked out before when he felt he wasn't wanted.Hardly. His position was untenable. They were wooing another manager whilst he was attempting to win a play off semi final.
Webbo Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 And you know this how exactly? Ffs he was the manager. Be sad all you like, disagree with the decision if you want but lets not be in denial.

Mess? HAHA...What mess? Every single season under pearson has been an improvement...even this one. Last year we finished 1st in the championship, we are currently 1 place above that.

MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Ffs he was the manager. Be sad all you like, disagree with the decision if you want but lets not be in denial. He still is the manager, for all I know. Besides, the manager isn't responsible for everything that goes wrong at a football club. The people who don't like him just usually jump to such rash conclusions. I didn't see a lot of praise for him from the same brigade around the time we celebrated promotion...
Babylon Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Their best decision was today, but I believe they have left it too late. Pearson put us in the mess we now find ourselves in, and will still be responsible for our relegation. Yes he is to blame, he got us promoted to a much better and tougher league. The idiot.
