bovril Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 He polarised opinion as a manager and a person. I've never seen a manager at City that inspired such devotion amongst certain supporters. At the same time there were those who thought he was a pig-headed bully. I liked him for the most part, especially when the results were good. But as the points dried up and the behaviour got weirder, it started to become apparent he wasn't quite up to the job at this level. I really believe he has his limitations and won't make it as a Premiership manager. Still, I wish him well.
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 very true...apart from the fact that they were very successful managers You mean the same Ferguson that was on the verge of getting sacked and required three years before winning anything?
J.Lisemore Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 As I much as I love Pearson and am grateful for everything hes done for our football club, he's made some baffling decisions this season which can't be excused. Yeah people make mistakes, but this guy was making mistake after mistake and it was blatently obvious to 99% of us. We move on.
EastAnglianFox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Tony Bellew giving it the big Un on twitter about Nigel! He has some weird love fest with Neil Danns so that's prob why. I'd give him some proper shite back but worried he will turn into the troll hunter haha

Guest Cujek Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 From a business pov this is utter nonsense, either change 2 months ago or keep him till end of season. Love the guy but made some very weird selections / subs. I just hope what ever we get in is not a total dick head.
StanSP Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Genuinely gutted. Bit sick really. I'll miss him a lot after all the good times he brought back to us.
Leicester_Numan Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 The timing of this is strange if true (still no official confirmation) and you have to wonder if it's reacting to the touchline incident yesterday. Regardless of whether you supported him or not can we at least have some recognition of his achievements at the club, rather than the usual in-fighting? He gave us 2 club record breaking promotions and pride in the club again. Sorry to see him go but I guess it was just a matter of time (still strange timing though). Oh well, onwards and upwards and all that. I just hope we've got good replacements lined up for him and all his staff
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 What antics? Just making it up as you go along. We've let the best manager we've had for over a decade go with nobody to replace him. Hope you're happy. Im not though am I? Falling out with fans, falling out with the local radio station and now a touchline wrestling match with a player. The pressure got to him... he was unstable! Whether you like it or not, he was doing more harm to the club than good, both on the field and image wise. I agree he has been superb for us in the past, but you cant keep riding on those successes forever! Crying about it wont change anything!
Foxhateram Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Actually even I stated I had lost confidence in him, but hearing this has made me feel a bit gutted. I was angry yesterday and after letting it sink in, we were close to getting the points yesterday. Gutted if this is true to be honest, I hope this doesn't mean we lose all the sports scientists and back room staff? The logistics of a sacking could actually be devastating for us. Eeep. Who next!?
Clever Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 strange decision and timing, especially with no credible managers available. He's clearly left an excellent legacy behind with the setup we have. Sadly he lost his way and the mistake was in the summer with recruitments. all the best for the future.

Kinowe Soorie Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 can't help thinking it was leaving kramaric out more than even the macarthur thing which did for him - the owners must be pretty pissed off at spending £9.5m for a sub, then watching players who have failed to put easy chances away all season fail to put easy chances away in a crucial game... Genuinely bit choked at this, i remember what it was like having five managers a season, idiots coming in, spending millions on duds then getting sacked - Nige turned the entire club around, was building for next ten years, bringing good youth players in, setting up one of the best scouting networks in the country He was making some increasingly odd selection decisions though, and was obviously feeling the pressure - but wasn't helped by a team who either made ridiculous individual errors at one end, or missed sitters at the othe But the timing is awful. This is Pearson's squad, they love the guy - there's a real risk we'll totally collapse now (whereas a three point gap atm is not unsurmountable). And there are no decent options out there. Cambiasso player manager maybe? Anyway, cheers Nige, appreciate what you've done for Leicester City. I know for a fact from people who have worked at the club during his two times here that he looked out for the whole club, not just the first team - office staff, tealadies etc. Top man, sorry it ended like this. This! Excellent post. I feel gutted
Dr The Singh Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Lineker Tweeted: Follow Not overly surprised that Nigel Pearson has been fired by Leicester, given they're bottom, but he's been a very good manager of the club.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Daft decision. And as Una said, some people almost gloating in his sacking. We're shit, yeah, but I'll bet anyone now we'll still be playing championship football next year no matter who we get. Just as we would, if Pearson was still with us. It's just a pity he wasn't sacked at Xmas.
LCFC FOX Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Better fing not be expect to be dissapointed then pal
Witch Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 I shouldn't be surprised by this news, yet I am. Maybe it was necessary, but still... Sad.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Lets get it right, when he came back to the club, he did a phenomenal job bar one dreadful run a couple of years back. Last season was one of the greatest that any of us have experienced. A truly wonderful season. But all of the above doesnt exonerate him from what has happened since the first 5 games. Something changed in NP. He didnt have the answers to what was going wrong. Nothing he tried worked. Didnt matter the line up or formation, we would lose games. We lose games we should win. You could almost feel the frustration from NP. His discontinued interviews with local radio, dismissal of the fans and yesterdays incident with JM are all the signs of a man lost. It is never nice for a manager to lose his job, but at this stage, at least some of his reputation is still Intact. Thanks Nigel but goodbye.
weller54 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Hear that Albrighton and Knockaert are out on the piss celebrating!!!!
Fox92 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Just as we would, if Pearson was still with us. It's just a pity he wasn't sacked at Xmas. I honestly believe he'd have kept us up. Just like he kept Carlisle and Southampton up.
