fleckneymike Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Did you not see the pictures posted last night after the news changed? The boards were plastered with the face of Nigel superimposed on Jesus. Amongst others. Chuckle all you like. I found last night very bizarre (mods, take note, no offence meant)...Nigel's popularity verges on the surreal, amongst some. He's almost as popular as Jay Emmanuel Thomas! On a serious note I completely agree with you Colin. Loyalty is being taken to strange new places on here. Just shows what being starved of success can do to folk.
inckley fox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 I.haven't found anyone who places their 'respect' for Pearson and his achievements with the club (not to be confused with.the 'love' you speak of) above the club. Ultimately there isn't anybody who would follow the manager around the country chanting his name if he did get the sack, despite the ludicrous claims of some on here. Have you even read some of the quotes from McArthur? Because you paint such a one sided bias in your account of Pearson there it's hard to see past what appears to be a fundamental disliking of.the bloke on your part. I backed Pearson until Saturday when it became obvious beyond words that he wasn't up to the challenge. And go onto the 'vote' thread, you'll find plenty of people who place their love for Pearson ahead of their love for the club. I see nothing in my post which indicates a personal dislike of Pearson, only a belief that he isn't professionally up to the standard we require. He has done very well for this club, he's just not doing very well at the moment, at the level we want to be playing at. And yes, I've read all of the quotes from McArthur, specifically the one which says he was 'scared'. I'd say that justifies supposedly neutral commentators (including Lineker, who is often accused of being biased in our favour) looking properly into the incident. Finally, if you look at that list of incidents I've mentioned regarding Pearson's professional conduct, you'll see that every single one of them actually happened.

You don't think for one moment they were pretty tongue in cheek poking fun at the people who believe that those posters genuinely think he's the messiah? Come on now Col,in spite of which side of the fence anyone sits on this issue some of those were pretty ****ing funny

Just like people crying. Can't believe you fall for this stuff so easily and take it so seriously.

What because we don't all think like you, it's bizare. I know every time you walk into the pub everyone agrees with you Col but the internet is a weird place pal.

I looked at some of the pictures, read some of the posts and honestly thought..this is getting a little weird. I agree with Michael above. Apologies if it was all done in jest. But it didn't come across completely like that, at least to me. Backed up with some posters said they actually cried.

Every one of them may have happened but your slant on each of them paints the picture of someone who has a certain perspective of him. If you can't see that then you aren't looking very hard. You've read a quote saying he was scared but not the one that says there was nothing in it and that it will get blown up out of proportion. You can read all manner of subtext and context into the written word but the only people who will really know are the two people involved who said there was nothing in it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Yeah, because it was a joke. Just like people crying. Can't believe you fall for this stuff so easily and take it so seriously. Nope, is asked that question this morning. Some people genuinely said they had cried at the news that he'd been sacked. I believed them, or at least some of them. Perhaps they'll come on again and confirm that. (Mods, take note...no offence meant)...
Mark_w Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 19? And you've got that many forum posts? Shouldn't you be out socialising and ****ing or something? I should but I'm not very good at it, hence the internet.

Regarding taking it so seriously...that's exactly my point. Christ..some are...especially over a football manager. So don't hurl that one at me Corky, mi old mate. You're miles off.

One need only look at the relegated with Pearson or stay up with A.N. Other to see how weird things are getting. I think the pics were a piss take but that relegation or stay up thread is like nothing I've ever seen.

It's become incredibly clear that some people on here actually can't maintain any sense of balance where there's a hint of criticism of the man. And when you're in our position, the weirdest thing would be that there were no criticism. But what's sad is that it's very clear now that some supporters have gone beyond having a well-reasoned view that he's the best man to be in charge, and actually feel that he should be in charge forever no matter what he does, says, or how badly he does his job. And then can't see that this means you're actually supporting a man, not a club. There are people on here who have been drained of their capacity to be rational. The Jesus thing was funny, though. I mean, who was Judas, then? Will Pearson and all of his disciples end up getting crucified too?

It's fairly straightforward evidence that his staunchest fans are not particularly supporters of Leicester City. More worrying still, I suspect they'll hang around here for years after he's gone mourning his loss, singing his name and making life miserable for anyone who wants to just move forward for once.

Like they did last time? Do you remember all those chants for Pearson when Sven was in charge, when Sousa was being incredibly shit? Those banners wanting him back, those petitions? No, me neither.

Possibly the biggest cock-up of them all, there were STILL people who couldn't see it, or accept it. That took a long time to change round.

Yup, we never gave a shit about Leicestershire County-Rovers Football Team before Jesus Pearson arrived.

I find that an entertaining conclusion. Especially given the fact that some of Pearson's most ardent "supporters" (or whatever you want to call them) were on here long before he took charge. Next excuse.
Corky Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 I've been a season ticket holder since 1996 and have the right to cry. I've cried more tears than you've attended matches, son.
