Pearson seems to think he can say what he likes, when he likes, especially to the press and then expects them not to retaliate. He is either deluded or completely stupid to think he can take on the the might of the BBC. He's tried it locally and got away with it but he won't get away with it nationally. All this based on some posters questioning whether Lineker should've divulged internal information and no one saying he's not a legend.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Don't know if anyone else has made this point but Lineker's been in trouble over his Twitter conduct from his employers and taken exactly the same brash response to it as Pearson has when he has done wrong. They're both as bad as each other in that sense. What he did today however undermined the manager and owners of the club that he supposedly supports. There was time for one of them to be the bigger man but neither could quite manage it.

Dan Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 I find it weird that some people would judge what they believe is right or wrong on the basis of how much of a club legend someone is. It's almost like you are incapable of managing your own opinions. I do agree with that Matt but I do think rightly or wrongly, if you get on the wrong side of someone of Lineker's stature then you're digging a hole for yourself. It's like Papiss Cisse* having a snipe at Alan Shearer. *Possibly harsh on Pearson but you get the gist of it.
