Are the other managers in the list great managers? Mick mccarthy. Steve coppell. Roy Keane. Tony Mowbray. Chris Hughton. Neil warnock. Brian mcdermott. Malky mackay. Nigel pearson.

So why is nigel so good for achieving what they did?

Because the others aren't as good as Nigel Pearson. The OP's proven that you don't have to be a particularly good manager to win the Championship, he's not proven that Nigel Pearson isn't a particularly good manager.

Why aren't they as good as nigel pearson? They achieved the same. At least paul jewell kept Wigan up though.

I suspect Pearson's slightly more popular because he has a longer history of success. There, that's my response to your question. Can expand on it if you want but that's basically it.
