But the contrast between Schwarzer and Given today was made even more stark because of an uninspiring performance by either team.

Don't feel confident in either of our three keepers. None of them are up to prem standard for me.

We were on borrowed time when Hamer was playing and got lucky on multiple occasions. The apparent improvement in form was in spite of him, not because of him. Nobody can argue Schwarzer's performances have been good but that doesn't suddenly make Ben Hamer superman. Regardless of how bad Schwarzer has been or how many gaffs he's made, Hamer still fails to clear the halfway line (or the edge of his box sometimes) with his kicking, still flaps at crosses (I have a compilation of these which I will upload at the end of the season for anyone who says I am lying), and still has an awful diving technique in which he closes his eyes, jumps haphazardly to the ground and hopes for the best. We have several average keepers and constantly changing from one to another won't change anything!

Schmeichel to Hamer (forced change), Hamer to Schwarzer, then people want to go from Schwarzer to Hamer again. We have hardly played a consistent back 4/3 so to keep changing the keeper ensures we will have no stability at the back whatsoever. And how come Hamer's gaffs are easily excused by people very willing to blame the other players for what happened before he made the mistake, like the freekick from Spurs, but nobody is jumping to Schwarzer's defence and asking why an opposition player has managed to get into such an advanced position in the first place? Some of you are so frustrating sometimes, it's like you made a decision months ago and you're going to make whatever happens fit your supposition regardless of what reality actually says about it.

Nothing against Schwarzer (though he has been a bit shaky) but I can't understand the reasoning for keeping Hamer on the bench. He wasn't even playing badly. Surely after this result we'll have to bring back Hamer.

You can't honestly place schwarzers mistakes in the same bracket as hamer getting beat from a quality free kick with help from a god awful wall.... hamer has looked solid since replacing Schmeichel in every area bar his kicking which is easily sorted by telling him to play it short, on the other hand schwarzer has looked as shakey as my grandfather who's is 95 and in an old people's home

Schwarzer will be aware that he's cost us in the last couple of matches, so he shouldn't be surprised if he's on the subs bench for the next one.
