Paul Gallagher.

If I was a footballer I would hope not to be on Twitter, can't do anyone any good.

I don't know to what extent he was being abused but when you're a well paid millionaire and your performance upsets the (mainly poor) public who rely on you for a lot of their happiness (I know that's sad) I think you burn any bridges as soon as you start bragging about your wealth to those who pay those wages.

As I said, I'm not going to boo him, but I'm also not going to start applading, I'd just feel a total and utter mug if I did.

He's been stealing a brilliant wage for years. Fair play to him. I'd do the same. This is up there with FT's most pointless discussions though. There is a 0% chance he will be playing for us next season.

Possibly my favourite player and another one Pearson refuses to pick because he loves his favourites. He picks Morgan but not Gallagher? Coco is clueless and disgracing the club.

Gallagher will show you all next season.

That cracked me up. I know you're messing but people seriously call him Coco lol

I'd say he was good technically but some on here are going well overboard with that aspect of his game. There's more to being technically good than a set piece taker. Not even close to the likes of Mahrez.

Are you serious?

I know some on here hate my F*****g opinions, but mahrez is such a similar player.

Both have a game based on technical ability...

Mahrez has a great touch, can beat a man for fun. But this season his final ball and finishing have proved absolutely shocking.

Gally has a great touch, could actually cross a ball, and can actually kick a dead-ball better than any player in our current squad. His shooting was technically great. But he couldn't beat a man to save his life.

Neither are triers, neither are willing to track back and help the team. Slagging off the likes of Gally but praising Mahrez just seems delusional to me.

I'll be very happy to see the back of Paul Gallagher. His reported sizeable wages have likely been a burden to us and his tweet about the money was very poor taste from him. I also never rated him as player. He was one of those that had a knack for doing nothing all game, scoring a 30 yard belter and then taking centre stage for it.

At the same time I won't boo and jeer him if he ever takes to the pitch against Leicester. Despite the above he was also a decent servant to the club and isn't worthy of abuse from our own fans.

Signing a new one year deal, expected to be recalled from Preston for the last 6 weeks of the season.

Similar players? The fact Mahrez beats a man for fun and Gallagher can't is a massive difference in a wide man. They're completely different.

You have literally said they are similar players and then posted up a load of reasons as to why they aren't.

I bet this time last year, someone was making a joke about GTF getting a new deal so I wouldn't rule it out.

A few nice touches and set piece ability doesn't make a good player. Beckham was a similar player to Gallagher, but Becks had a ridiculous work ethic and was so consistent. Gally was good in patches. He'd have a good game and go quiet for three/four. We could do with his set piece ability atm, but that's about it. We have better players now.

Here is one of the great dilemma's of football. Technical ability vs Commitment. We have a team of totally committed players yet keep coming up short.

If only we had a sprinkling of players with the technical ability of Gally to add to the Commitment, I'm certain we wouldn't be in the position we now find ourselves in.

Perhaps the only time this sentence will ever be written.

In what universe would anyone ever say "You know who David Beckham reminds me of? - Paul Gallagher"

I never said they were of equal calibre. Becks was far more of a superior player, but their playing styles are similar.

I respectfully disagree.

really? neither had any pace, both have great technique and are dead ball specialists obviously though Beckham was a vastly superior player

What tweet did he put about money?

i think i remember it being something along the lines of;

someone (well, loads of "fans") tweeted him saying "u r shit u **** jst leave omg y u even still at lcfc???? #shitplaya" so he replied with a load of $$$$. which wasn't very clever.

Beckham more often than not put a real shift in on the pitch too, his technical ability was backed up frequently with workrate... one of the reasons he was so good for Utd, Real etc.

As for what Gally Tweeted? Grow up morons, it's nothing compared to what he's been given. Who the F cares what someone else says or doesn't say, what are you... 5?
