The multiplayer was a revelation at the time - a real step forward for console shooters, but it hasn't aged that well unless you like it very basic. Some great maps, but no killstreak choices (just UAV 3 kills, airstrike 5 kills, attack chopper 7 kills). There wasn't a points system towards killstreaks, only kills from guns/melee/thrown explosives would count. From what I remember, you could only use 1 attachment per primary weapon and some would be in place of a perk - it was a lot stricter than the later "pick 10" (etc) systems. Explosives were rampant - grenades had a huge blast radius and were usually a 1 hit kill (same applies to RPGs) - there was a perk to carry 3 frags so most matches you would come across someone who would just spam the place with frags and RPGs, and then drop another grenade with a short fuze upon death (Martyrdom perk). UAVs couldn't be shot down I will be buying it purely for the Shipment online map The tiniest and most frantic COD map ever. I loved it, but it was so rare that it ever came up in multiplayer. Didn't they remaster the original COD a couple of years ago? Was available in a bundle or as a standalone download for about £20, this will probably be the same. Pls have multiplayer Says 10 multiplayer maps... they better be the originals and not DLC ones that no one cares about I count 16 maps of the original - Ambush Backlot Bloc Bog Countdown Crash Crossfire District Downpour Overgrown Pipeline Shipment Showdown Strike Vacant Wetwork Struggling to think of 6 of those I would be happy to miss. Still annoying that you will have to buy the Legacy edition of the game to get it though. Surely at some point after release it will be available as a separate game in the store.
