Rob1742 Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 As I see it, we are where we are because we are not good enough. Other teams have better players than us, they cost much than our bunch, so we are where we probably deserve to be. But as soon as things start going wrong, the knives come out. The support wains and people are desperate to find someone to blame. Let's look at the manager. Without doubt his record as a manager is very good, much better than most, but because we aren't doing well, then straight away people will forget we are against much better players, up against experienced Premier League professionals and just blame the easy target. Without doubt he has done well to keep the group together in such difficult times, but it does not matter, it's going wrong so someone is to blame. Then if the manager doesn't get the blame, let's blame Terry. It must be his fault as he didn't sign enough players. If I was a good player, I would look at an established team before Leicester, but it must be Terry's fault why players chose other clubs above mighty Leicester. If it isn't the DOF, or the manager, let's blame the players. There is a picture of Pearson and Nugent sharing a joke, how dare Nugent smile in such circumstances. These players earn fortunes, they must be able to win earning that sort of money. The fact is, as a whole we are simply not good enough. We have a lack of experience in this league and we don't have the players to compete with the others. Look at what we have spent, look at what others have spent. It is like trying to race a Ferrari in a ford escort. I don't blame the owners either, you can spend a fortune in year one, go down and be left with a debt ridden club. The bottom line it is just a very tough situation with no easy answer. Changing the manager might not do it, and buying a load of new players might not do it. It's just a difficult situation. But carry on finding someone to blame as its the done thing. Point a finger, it makes you feel better. Have a go at those that brought us so many happy days last season. These people are on lots of money, they are pure evil. Have a go at them. Don't look at the circumstances, forget what they did last season, just have a go at them and pick someone to blame. bovril Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 I'm getting a bit sick of the 'we're simply not good enough' line. We were good enough to get into this league and we should have made a better fist of it, so of course the players and manager will get blamed. They've fvcked up. 2 points from 36 is shocking in any league from any team. Too late now though, innit. So we might as well keep singing "one Nigel Pearson" as we sink back down and try it all over again in mid August....
ALC Fox Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 I agree with a lot of this post. It's very difficult. When you look at Hull who are one place above us, they easily have players capable of lifting them out only the relegation zone. It's just so tight in the bottom half of the table as everyone has the quality to survive. Now, I do include us in that. Mahrez can perform. Ulloa can score. Vardy can run. Kasper has saved us points - even this season. But, crucially, we just make too many mistakes, and they get punished every time. We need to go back to the drawing board. Pearson did it after that awful run the season before last. He needs to do it mid-season now. If only we had a winter break! January is make or break for Leicester as a Premier League club now. Personally, if we do go down I would still back Pearson. I would back him to take us straight back up and back him to learn from his experience and keep us in the Premier League at the next time of asking. stillwater Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 We're not good enough, yet we managed to finish on more points than QPR and Burnley last season. Can anyone explain why they have both settled into the premiership better than us when we where clearly better than them last year?
ALC Fox Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 QPR's top striker has been fit this season. They've also replaced mediocrity with quality (e.g. Fer, Isla, Vargas). Burnley are just happy to be here. They're underdogs. Nobody expected them to go up at the start of last season. Nobody expects them to stay up this time. And, Dyche has done a decent job of keeping the pressure off his players. Saying all that I do still think they'll go down!
SMX11 Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 QPR have bought a few in. Burnley players seem to be able to stick it out and defend properly most of the time. More importantly they both have a striker capable of getting 15+ goals a season in the prem. Our defence has a howler a game, and our strikers don't score goals bar Ullou who hasn't started the last two games.
EnglishOxide Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 There is no single cause of our downfall. Everybody is to blame. Pearson messing about with a diamond Robinson not securing first choice players Morgan scoring own goals and playing like a tard Kasper letting Burnley equalise Konchesky having brain farts Moore not stepping up Cambiasso missing glaring open goals Vardy/Nugent not taking their chances Drinkwater underperforming Schluup skying simple shots James' corners Mahrez is about our only decent looking player and he still has a lot to learn. Theres nothing we as supporters can do other than try and support them.
lestuhfox Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 Rob, Pearson had 8 months to plan for this season. He knew last Christmas that we had a very good chance of being in this league and it was confirmed early April waasnt it? His contract was up in the summer along with a lot of squad. How did Pearson prepare us? By giving Gary Taylor-Fletcher another contract. That's how! We have never gone up with money behind us before. We were the new kids on the block in the summer going places. I honestly believe and I bet you do too that the owners would've backed Pearson 100% and given him whatever money he would've asked for. Why do you think he spent little money? Its because the type of footballers that keep clean sheets, create goals, score goals and win games in the Premier League are big time Charlies, players with egos and millionaire footballers. These are the type of footballers that Pearson cant manage, hence the lack of summer transfer activity. Nor can he get an extra 10% out of the squad now that would turn a close game against Man City and no strikers into a draw and leads against average teams like QPR, Liverpool and Villa into wins. Pearson is the man remember who played Harry Kane out wide. Its Pearson who is holding the ambitious owners back. You would think that Pearson would be a man, admit hes out of his depth and front up and walk away to give LEICESTER CITY the best chance of staying up this season. He wont do that. Hes a coward. For all the Thais wealth they appear not to have contacts in football and don't know how to sack and appoint a manager. They need someone smarter than the Birch to advise them. Get rid of Pearson now. PEARSON OUT.

It's like people forget he was proved 100% correct to bomb out Mills, Danns and Beckford. They were shit end of story, nothing to do with them being bug name quality players (none of them have achieved or done anything in their career) You can't get much more big name than bloody Cambiasso, yet he signed him. dayday Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 I was asked the question today down my local whats gone wrong,is it the manager,DOF.or the board. My answer was I haven't a scooby do,some blame Pearson for not having the puling power, some blame Robinson for wage demands, and yet the most important one is Whether the board pulled the plug. We can all speculate, yet I actually think it may come down to the owners.

lestuhfox Posted 21 December 2014 Share Posted 21 December 2014 A fresh face and voice is needed on the training ground and dressing room to squeeze that little bit extra out of the players. Pearson isn't getting it and cant do it. Familiarity breeds contempt. It needs shaking up to push us that extra yard, block, shot on target. No I don't think they are, the the people who drag up the shite you are usually point to them as evidence of him not being able to manage a certain type of player. So, how do you know he can't manage a certain type of player? Sean Dyche didn't sign a certain type of player, does that mean he can't manage them either? Or does that mean he's not in a position to go out and spunk £15m on one player that happens to be brilliant. As for Cambiasso, of course he wouldn't have played for us in his prime. We're not Real Fecking Madrid. But you said "big time Charlies, players with egos and millionaire footballers", if he's not a big time footballer then nobody us. Is he suddenly a player without ego and money because he's reached his mid 30's?
