The situation we find ourselves in, along with many other clubs, over the last couple of years is down to the fact that players routinely run down contracts. They know they have the upper hand and will only sign extensions if it involves significant pay increases or bonuses, or sit it out and pick up a healthy signing on fee and better wage in lieu of their new club not having to pay a transfer fee. Add to that the problem that ffp means clubs can not afford to sell on at loss also means that the players will know that gives them an even stronger hand in negotiations. The club will not want to sell at a loss, therefore more likely to give them a rise if they sign.

I think with the fatawu challenge it would be one of those that VAR would have gone with whatever the onfield decision was. That said, with VAR the ref might not have been so quick to whip out the red and given a yellow knowing it would be at least looked at.

Mr reliability. Regular starter or not nowadays it will be a sad day and a big miss when he finally calls time on his career with us

the problem is that accounts are made up to the end of a season usually, same as player contracts. Those accounts are not then due for filing to companies house ad HMRC for another 9 months. Effectively this means if the financial year ends june '23, the final accounts are not due to be filed until end of march '24. (Pretty sure that the PL/FA cannot demand accounts be submitted before they are legally obliged under company law as clubs would simply say that they were not fully prepared and audited etc). In effect this means that in order for any sanctions in that season investigations, and any subsequent court cases, including appeals etc. would have to be concluded in under two months which is virtually impossible. Any player trading between June and the end of the summer window would also not fall into that years accounts anyway, so it would be another year before they could be investigated.

yeah and we could bring back Oldham, Oxford, Colchester and Aldershot while we are at it. Seriously though, when you look at it there are some names with a big history currently languishing in non league

Funnily enough this is exactly what Enzo keeps saying. I seem to recall another Italian manager we once had who insisted that the most important game was always the next one. Seemed it worked out quite well if i remember

After Mondays games, it is possible that 2 more wins and a draw for us (puts us on 72pts) and 2 losses out of three for Rotherham (max for them 72pts with far inferior GD) means we can start the teams that cant catch us thread, assuming i have got my maths right. three wins and losses for QPR and they can be added to the list. It is absolutely mental.

Aside from the one yellow, it was a clean game. Casedei perhaps a little lucky to get away with one but otherwise very few little niggly tackles pulling of shirts etc. that said, well done to the ref for keeping it that way. Let the game flow, let the players know that you won’t take any sh*t but will be fair and that is what you get. being an ex player gets him a bit of respect too I think. -

Only 17 points ahead of the greatest team ever to grace the championship with their presence. Enzo out! Sack the board! -

Apparently he played non league to a pretty high standard before taking up the whistle. The game needs more ex players taking their refs badges. -
TBF to our wide players they are being doubled up on as soon as the ball goes anywhere near them. Credit to Huddersfield they have looked pretty organised but we have proved time and again that we will eventually break teams down. I fancy a couple of quick burst goals from us early next half.

I had a jag XF, until it got knicked last year. My second one and I loved them. No need for a big mile munching cruiser now and wanted hatch/suv for practicality so got a Kia Niro hybrid. Has pretty much all the same gadgets and gizmos the jag had plus a few extras for half the price. that said the quality of the ride and overall “feel” are nowhere near the jags. If I could justify the cost I would have gone for an Fpace (not sold on going fully electric yet).

Whilst the arena hopefully will host music events etc, the main income I would imagine will be from trade exhibitions and the like. Camping &caravan club, regional motor shows, leisure industry such as golfing, fishing equipment etc and hopefully promoting local industry. As previously stated, this type of thing will also provide hotel bookings from exhibitors and punters alike. the success or otherwise will be down to how well it is marketed as a venue. Not only could this be a boon for the club, but for the city as a whole if successful.
-
At least this time round the planners have realised that the associated development like the arena and hotel etc are fundamental to the ground expansion. Last time the club wanted to expand the stadium the plans to include retail and a casino were blocked so the whole thing was shelved, otherwise we would have had a 40000 seater stadium years ago. the main revenue increases will not come from ticket sales alone but all the add-ons that the associated development brings. A 200 room hotel for eg will potentially bring in around £10m a year. whether this will be lcfc commercial revenue, or king power revenue remains to be seen, but I am assuming the former as the development appears to be on behalf of lcfc not in the name of KP. (Funding/loan arrangements notwithstanding)

Been doing this for over a year now. Always use the same starting word, which has never come up, yet have noticed several words that have appeared more than once recently. Presume randomly generated.

Very true. Only reason we used an agent is because the property is not local so rely on them for any minor repairs etc and the initial marketing of the property and drawing up of contracts, which in the case of the latter they were very good at
-
As a landlord I can concur. Our agents deducted some of our previous tenants deposit for “cleaning”. I had a good relationship with said tenants and had visited the property only a week or so before they left and it was spotless. By the time I found this out said tenants, a young couple on a uk work placement, had already returned to Taiwan so not much I could do about it. I have instructed said agents that they only make extra charges with my written consent in the future.

We did this many years ago. As interest rates were falling we continued paying the same monthly amount, with the occasional lump sum payment when we could afford it. Finished paying our mortgage off 5 years early which left us with lots of spare cash to invest in preparation for eventual retirement and allowed us to spend a bit more on ourselves, which I think we deserved after years of grafting and bringing up kids etc.

Not soar valley way but edgeware road in London a few years ago. I got a ticket for entering a bus lane that was invisible as it was dark, chucking it down and with practically a river running down the road due to blocked drains. I appealed but was turned down. I then sent an email with their own camera shot evidence of my car in their supposed bus lane and requested they show clearly where the line was visible indicating the bus lane (in any case it could not have been more than a tyres width encroaching due to the distance from the kerb), with the caveat that i would see them in court if not. Lo and behold, ticket rescinded and within a week shiny new white lines painted

A bit like what Leicestershire did to Rutland some years ago but without the violence
-
Get the rotation and trying to keep players involved but thought albrighton did ok when he came on so not sure why he is not on the bench. The risk with putting two keepers on bench is that some others get alienated, unless of course they have knocks or the lurgy.

Cuisine of India in wigston was always our go to. Not been for a while but have heard not as good as it used to be

Not taking anything away from Daka, played well and did what was was asked of him. But, the space in behind that Plymouth left, plus the fact that we played a few early balls forwards would have had Vardy drooling. will be interesting to see if he does any better than the regular starting duo against millwall who will likely park the bus and not leave the sort of gaps to be exploited that Plymouth did.
