weller54 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Come on Chelsea.. Please don't fvck up.. If they win, we'll have 2 games in hand on qpr, 1 point behind them and still have to play them at home... Surely chelsea will win this one!!?
Strokes Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Newcastle (Home),Sunderland (away) and Qpr (home) look extremely winnable to me??? If we play using our pace against Sunderland we will destroy them, that's all palace did. They are so slow at the back, they make wes Morgan and wasilewski look like usain bolt and yohan blake.

benpicko Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Look at this years league table for example, to stay up what position number do we need to be in to stay up? Oh that's right 17th.... What position is west brom in last season? Oh that's right 17th!!!! Just look at the table this year, at the moment we need to beat hulls points as they are in 17th position It is honestly not possible to be as stupid as you're proving to be right now
Babylon Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Ok, look at this way then, look at the table now you are saying we just need to beat QPR's points tally and that will keep us up because they are 18th?.... Well it won't will it? We need to beat hull's who are 17th No because we're currently in the bottom bloody three, but if at the end of the season we're sat in 17th, there will be three teams below us. Meaning we need to beat the points of the team in 18th. I have no idea why you are making this so complicated.
Nalis Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 They can't sign 10 players in such a short timescale!! Ha, maybe not but perhaps changing formation and providing more cover for the defence and wings make work for them. Not sure how the Mackem fans would feel about that! Have a soft spot for Sunderland and hope they stay up but obviously not at the expense of us.

Hope them QPR and Hull rot in the championship. Want Burnley to go down because of their twat of a manager, but you really have to admire what the club/he's doing there
Number 6 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Bookies taking us very seriously in the relegation battle now, seem to think it's between us, Sunderland and Hull (although think they are underrate Burnley given they play teams around them). With us marginally less fancied than those above us. No good patting ourselves on the back yet thoug: we've got ourselves back in the hunt but we've got to keep going. Starting with a win against Swansea. Really think just nudging out of relegation zone, even for a day, would be a massive confidence boost.

But you need to beat the points total of 17th. Beating the points total of 18th puts you well 18th .

weller54 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Chelsea look poor in opening 10 mins against QPR!!!!
roblcfc84 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Beating the points total of the team finishing 18th, you will finish 17th... This has the be a joke surely. Qpr are 18th now with 26. If we had 27 (better than 18th). We would be where - 18th. One point behind hull. It's not complicated.
Nalis Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Mods, can you delete all the comments regarding the 17th/18th points needed over the past two pages please as its the most stupid debate ever. Cheers.

It's a matter of context. Currently we need more than 17th. That puts above 18th which means after that point we need more than 18th. Silly argument. Apologies from me I thought ppl meant currently. We are all in agreement :-)

Rincewind Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 We need enough points to finish 17th which is more than the points the team currently in 18th has.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 We need enough points to finish 17th which is more than the points the team currently in 18th has. Well no , if we have more than the current 18th place team we would be 18th and them 19th...
Jimbo Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 We need enough points to finish 17th which is more than the points the team currently in 18th has. This is where people are confusing the argument. You're half right, half wrong. You're right that we need enough points to finish 17th. Currently though, if we have more points than the team in 18th then we could still be 18th. We could have 27 points, more than qpr CURRENTLY but hull have 28 points! We need to finish 17th. Right now our only aim is to win as many games as we can. we need enough points to FINISH at least in 17th position. Now we can we put this argument to bed. We need 10-12 points, at least, and have some very, very big games coming up in the likes of burnley and Sunderland. I'm hoping that the qpr game is meaningless for us, in a good way of course, but at the very least it needs to be the biggest game we have had in a good few years
