queensguardfox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 The end is on the horizon! will it be good or bad? With 8 games remaining, ive set up a thread to discuss the run-in! Next up West Brom and 3 points would be lovely. The results and points totals will be updated as we go.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Bloody hell, someone else who calls them "Brom". Are you related to col city fan?
Fox92 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Lets take it one at a time. Firstly, we need both Spurs and Newcastle to win today. Probably be best if Villa win/draw on Tuesday (anything apart from a QPR win). Which would mean next week, if we can get a draw at West Brom it'd be decent because Burnley play Arsenal, QPR play Chelsea and Sunderland play Palace (who are decent away from home)... Leaving us two points away from QPR and Burnley and possibly three off of Sunderland.
m4DD0gg Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Rekon Sunderland are ****ed with their run in. Will be interesting to see what happens with them today, if they loose twinned with the strange appointment of Advocaat i rekon they are gone handing a huge incentive to the current bottom 3.
queensguardfox Posted 5 April 2015 Author Posted 5 April 2015 It will come down to the last game of the season then its twitchy bum time!
Max Power Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Hull and Sunderland's run-ins give me a glimmer of hope. If we're within 3 points of Sunderland (and safety) by the time we go there...
Guest Bilo Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 I'm going to make a bold claim I'm almost certainly going to regret. If it goes down to the final day, we stay up. QPR's wins have come against a dreadful Sunderland side and a WBA side who looked as though they know they're safe. I think they'd wilt in front of 32,000 City fans and a City performance like yesterday.

Finchy Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 After their result yesterday, I've heard a lot of people saying QPR stand a great chance of staying up. Well as far as I'm concerned, if they do then we do too. We are 3 points behind them and we still have to play them at home. We also have a much better fixture list in between. I'm still not confident, because we need Sunderland and Hull to completely fall apart. But you know, it's not over just yet.
weller54 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Today is huge.. If both Burnley and Sunderland win then it's very grim for us... I can see them both picking up a point each today, which keeps our hopes alive.. But only a flicker!
Devonfox1884 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 I make it that we'll need 14 points to stay up, 13 depending in goal difference. I think we can beat Burnley, Newcastle, QPR, West Brom, Swansea and Sunderland on our day, and possibly sneak a point against Southampton. That's 19 points we COULD get-leaving a couple of bad games leeway for us in my opinion, hopefully against Newcastle/Swansea so as we're not giving points to teams around us... It's not over yet.

I think Sunderland will be optimistic with their remaining home games. Interestingly my Geordie mate told me that on each of the last two occasions that Sunderland have sacked a manager they've gone on to play Newcastle two games later and won 3-0. I reckon this one's a home banker.

MooseBreath Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Sunderland win today and it's lights out and we'll have nobody to blame but ourselves.
SystonFox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 i dont know why but i still think we are gone, please prove me wrong fellas
weller54 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 i dont know why but i still think we are gone, please prove me wrong fellas Hope Spurs and Newcastle keep our hopes very much alive after today's results!!
narboroughblue Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Wouldn't be surprised if Hull only get points from Burnley at home. Shocking run in.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 So in a nutshell, we need to be 2 points (at worst) behind QPR and Sunderland come the last game of the season to have a decent chance of finishing above them (as the QPR game is always going to be must win anyway, and Sunderland will not get anything at Chelsea). So going off that, we are 1 point off where we need to be against QPR and 2 points off where we need to be V Sunderland. That doesn't look so bad all of a sudden. Looking at Hull, they have Man Utd last at home, again you'd "hope" that they will lose that one, so we need to be 2 points behind them come last game of the season also and we are 4 points off that. We really aren't as badly placed as it seems IF we can still be within 3 points of safety on the last day of the season.
foxfanazer Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Hull are in real trouble imo. And Sunderland if they lose today. In some ways there's less pressure on us, Qpr and Burnley now. Also we have a few games against teams with very little to play for now
Carl the Llama Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Nope. Not doing it. I won't be getting my hopes up again this season. Very bad for the cholesterol.

Disagree with villa beating qpr, villa are in a dog fight and ild rather qpr won and we were 6 points behind both with 2 games in hand than 9 points behind villa and 3 behind qpr with 2 games in hand on both,I want a qpr win,it's no good hoping they lose if 4th bottom gain more ground on us, Last week it was any 3 of 4 to go down with us looking nailed on,after yestaday it's any 3 of 7 now.

Aus Fox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 This is aweful, hopefully spurs can pinch it, but no entertainment so far at all.
st albans fox Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Sland were in a much worse place last season with tougher fixtures ahead of them. They know what if takes.
