AKCJ Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 well thats undeserved. More than disappointing to lose to a supposed 30m team via a dive.
TOMBlcfc Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 It was a pretty clear pen, looks like we just gave up once they scored their first
Basingstoke Fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Can't believe we lost that! Never mind, good effort from the lads and a very good tournament overall.
RedSoxUK Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Proud of the teams display - some switching off which proves costly, poor penalty to give away, but Kipre did well throughout. Chilwell and Choudhary will make the first team if we keep hold of them, and they continue their development with the U21s. Chilwell was fantastic, and confident defending too / wouldn't be surprised to actually see him make the step up as little as next season.
ImBlue Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Switched on with 10 to go, typical.. Choudary need to learn you have to track runners, both goals his fault..
stevelcfc Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Gutted for the boys tbf. Choudhury showed his quality for much of the game as did Chilwell, thought Kipre did well until the end too. Disappointed with our attacking boys considering the quality they posses and ITV's coverage was shite.
KFS Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Highlight of the night was Choudhury telling their **** of a RB that his breath smelt
ImBlue Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Highlight of the night was Choudhury telling their **** of a RB that his breath smelt That's mature.. Maybe he ought to concentrate on football.
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Getting pretty annoyed with the Matt Smith referring to Man City as just City. There's more than one city involved in just this match you eejit.
st albans fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 That's mature.. Maybe he ought to concentrate on football. The guy had his head in his face. He was very grown up to hold himself together.
ramadaone Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Just found it Man City 11/10 Just remortgaged the house .... Never in doubt ...Can't fault the effort but our team cost zilch and theirs was 20M plus so not really a level playing field Personally don't get the Hamza love in but time will tell. As the holding midfielder you need to be able to spot danger before it happens and that's the weakest part of his game. Would like to see him at right back as I think he could be an asset going forward and we know he can tackle. Being saying for 6 months or more that Chilwell is the one and didn't see anything tonight to change my mind. Absolute class act.
Callabinho Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Hamza is raw, and has a bite to his game. He can pass and can run with the ball, positioning will come with experience he needs to play along side a seasoned pro or a at higher level to develop that skill. It's clear that Chilwell is training with the first team, he and that number 11 for Man City were streets ahead of everyone else on the pitch. The attitude of some of those Man City players stunk though, some of their behaviour was appalling, you're kids.....

Being saying for 6 months or more that Chilwell is the one and didn't see anything tonight to change my mind. Absolute class act. The rest of the team didn't get Hamza on the ball enough tonight. Every time he got the ball he did the right thing with it even if it was the simple 5 yard pass backwards. Others around him tried to play the champagne ball and lost the ball as a result. Too many times I counted Hamza showing for the ball from one of the centre backs and instead they decided to try and ping the ball to either flank. The majority of that side need to learn that doing the simple things consistently is more impressive than a Hollywood ball. That's what Man City did, kept the ball and looked to play smart and simple passes to keep possession. Only Hamza, Kipre and Chilwell shone tonight. Ndukwu was out of the game too much to show his potential, he needs to be more assertive and go looking for the ball. For me Bailey was terrible, easily the worst player on the pitch and is nowhere near good enough for the next level.
deep blue Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 The guy had his head in his face. He was very grown up to hold himself together. Quite. Choudhury was the standout for me. His style made me think of Neil Lennon. Couldn't fault his commitment and bravery.
ImBlue Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Quite. Choudhury was the standout for me. His style made me think of Neil Lennon. Couldn't fault his commitment and bravery. Standout? Ignore him not tracking for the 2 goals then?
GingerrrFox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Standout? Ignore him not tracking for the 2 goals then? To be fair to the lad he had been all over the park before that and was clearly ****ed by the 90th minute. He's only 17 and the older he gets the more his engine will develop. He had been dominant before that. He's clearly going to make the step up at our club along with Chilwell. The rest (Kipre, Johnson, Ndukuwu etc) have got a lot of progress to make if they want to stick around.
Narborough_fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Standout? Ignore him not tracking for the 2 goals then? We've got a young kid here who is still only 17 and has showed that he's obviously a very talented player with his technical ability and tenacity in the tackle but you seem to be more interested in the fact that he wasn't picking his runner in the 80+ minute when we're pushing for 2 goals, why? Yes, it's something he'll need to work on if he's ever going to become a first team player but positioning will come with more big game exposure in games such as these. Lets not dwell on a couple of mistakes against a team which, apparently, cost £30million to assemble and concentrate on the fact we've got the potential for a very talented player to come through our academy with the right guidance.

As I said I switched on at 80 minutes ish, and he just came across as lazy, but if it's fatigue as he has put a proper shift prior I apologise.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Shame for number 5 (no idea on name) as I thought he'd looked the better of the two centre halves all evening. Chilwell the obvious standout, though.
Voll Blau Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Shame for number 5 (no idea on name) as I thought he'd looked the better of the two centre halves all evening. Chilwell the obvious standout, though. Cedric Kipre. Played well in the quarter-final home leg too.
Max Power Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Blaming the midfielder for maybe not quite tracking runners in the last 5-10 minutes when they're chasing a 2 goal deficit seems a bit harsh. Choudry looked impressive, calm on the ball and sharp in the tackle. Chilwell looked the most accomplished though. If we drop he should be rotating with Schlupp at left back next season.
Dan Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I liked the look of Choudhury. Far from the finished product but quite a decent player and someone who clearly loves a battle, that can't be a bad thing. Chilwell's really decent, I could see him coming through. Excellent dribbler.
