ScouseFox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 you can't escape the inability to track midfield runners anywhere in this world can ya
KFS Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 That's mature.. Maybe he ought to concentrate on football. The guy came steaming into him after Hamza weightsed him and won the ball. He was laughing in the guys face since he was looking for a fight. Him being a 17 year old, I think that's one of the more mature outcomes.Hamza will continue to develop in my opinion. He's got the right attributes from what I've seen of him.
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 you can't escape the inability to track midfield runners anywhere in this world can ya it's the go to complaint now,
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 April 2015 Author Posted 9 April 2015 As I said I switched on at 80 minutes ish, and he just came across as lazy, but if it's fatigue as he has put a proper shift prior I apologise. He'd been given man of the match just prior to you switching on then. He was superb up to that point
st albans fox Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 As others say above, chillwell and choudhury look capable of stepping up over the next few seasons. No one else out there looked to be good enough (as yet). Keeper - could be, didn't see enough. There is time for some of them to develop but given that the norm is for youth players to drop away, I wouldn't be holding my breath. a couple of decent players from the academy is a good return from one group though.
Raj Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 That's mature.. Maybe he ought to concentrate on football.Your right...you'd never see experienced footballers do such immature things eh????...rolls eyes!!!
Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 We must remember that Layton and Darnell are both schoolboys still with two more seasons in the academy to develop. Chilwell and Choudry stood out certainly let's not start criticising them though they are young kids.
Babylon Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 you can't escape the inability to track midfield runners anywhere in this world can ya Even funnier when people use Song as a shining example of how to track players... and he failed to track two of ours for the goal and penno.
ScouseFox Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Even funnier when people use Song as a shining example of how to track players... and he failed to track two of ours for the goal and penno. and someone wasn't marking Vardy and someone else lost king for the winner, too.
gerrytaggart Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Switched on with 10 to go, typical.. Choudary need to learn you have to track runners, both goals his fault.. I tuned in just after the final whistle and I have to say that not one of the players made any attpt to win the ball...they were far more interested in walking off the pitch!?
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 From 30-88 minutes we were far the better side I thought. There was a distinct lack of quality with passes in the final third by our players but on the whole they looked like they deserved to be in the semi final of the FA Youth Cup. We have a problem at left back if we continue with Konchesky and Schlupp and I see an opening for Chilwell if we have the bollocks to blood him. He looks not far off being ready for me, certainly if we're relegated. I know it's impossible to say without him actually playing in the first team to see if he'd cope, but you can just tell with some players how comfortable they look. Hamza Choudhury is very raw but again with the right coaching and belief, I think he's got a lot of ability. A big physical central midfielder??? Unheard of for Leicester. Get him out on loan next season in League One and watch him progress. He could only be a year away from top level. Some other decent performances, the schoolboys Nduwku and Johnson are very highly thought of and looked good in patches. Layton will make it.
AndWhat? Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Ohhhhhhhh Layton is amaziiiiiiiiinggg So that's what I could hear on the tele last night
lcfcsnow Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I can't see any harm giving Chilwell a few games at left midfield to ease him in to first team football, considering how we've been struggling for able players on the left all season. He seemed very capable last night especially getting forward.
Bettsj2 Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 On the evidence of last night, Benny C wont be our LB anytime soon. Showed some nice touches but against a better opponent he'll get robbed in dangerous areas.Should really have loaned him for a season this year. Sorry but Hamza is dogshit.
Guest MattP Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Interesting watch, none of them clearly ready for the first team yet but looked more promising that most LCFC youth teams I've seen over the years. Chilwell certainly looked the best of the lot, hopefully see him on loan next season and give him a chance to impress at a higher level. Was a bit disappointed by Ndwuku given the hype we've heard about him, although hype towards any youth team player from the outside isn't going to them any good.

A 17 year old central midfielder who's just signed professional terms and is highly regarded by the club is anything but dogshit. You clearly have no eye for potential talent.

You may be right in this case, but with all due respect, over the years we've given hundreds of highly regarded 17 year olds pro contracts who have turned out to be dogshit.
Dan Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Can't agree that he's "dogshit" at all. A bit raw but there's the base for a decent player there I think. Chilwell showed some real touches of class at times. There was one ball played to him, overhit, I couldn't believe he brought it under control and put a decent ball in. I'd have not expected a first teamer to have done that. Definitely think he'd be ripped apart defensively though. If you think De Laet's a bit too committed to going forward this kid's something else. He's practically a winger. You may be right in this case, but with all due respect, over the years we've given hundreds of highly regarded 17 year olds pro contracts who have turned out to be dogshit. Always the potential. Genuinely think a lot of these look better though. Thought our centre halves' distribution was appalling. Don't get me wrong he could end up being a nothing footballer but currently at his age he is a fine prospect for the future. He's quite obviously not dogshit, which is what I can't have said about the lad. He's not even old enough to drink yet FFS. I've seen many come and go from the youth team and for me he is quite easily the most talented I've seen in a long while.
Rincewind Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I missed it. Not seen the result yet. Well no ones posted the score just comments about the game.

You clearly have no eye for potential talent. At 17, if you're not knocking on the door of the 1st team, then it probably isnt going to happen. Last night he looked miles off the standard required to play League 1 let alone the Championship or Premiership. At 17, he is far too small in height and slight in build to play at a high level in that holding midfield position. His passing was pretty poor, he cant head it, not particularly quick or skillful. Sure he goes in hard to a tackle but so what? That isnt useful enough to justify all the weeping fannys over the guy. IMO of course.

It's only the extremely talented and potential world class players that are anywhere near ready to play first team football at the age of 17. To right off a kid at 17 is unbelievablely short sighted and narrow minded. Look at Harry Kane for example he went out on loan at 18 from Tottenham and looked like he would be an average lower league striker until now at 21 where it has suddenly clicked and he's shown he can do the business at Premier League level. I could make a list of even more young players who looked a non-starter until 20-21. Ross Barkley couldn't get a look in at Leeds and now look at him.
