iancognito Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Wright vs Cambridge Roberts vs Derby (his debut was special too) Stan vs Sunderland
BoyJones Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Agree with a couple of earlier posters, August 1972 Keith Weller hattrick v Liverpool, who would go on to be champions. 2 nil down after about 10-15 minutes, by half time we were leading. Weller was phenomenal, the Kop was going crazy, I had turned 20 the previous weekend, still single and we got ratted that night. Some games like the 4-3 v Man City just stick in our mind forever. In modern times and as he was my favourite player around four / five years ago, Steve Howard for the 2nd leg at Cardiff. He was immense that night, deserved to have been at at Wembley that year. I just love old fashioned centre forwards who get stuck in and play the game as it should be played, no pretending to be hurt or hit in the face a la Sterling tonight.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I know it was when we were in League One, but a live game on Sky I think it was. Mark Davies, had the entire Yeovil team on toast for 90 minutes.
Strokes Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Garry Parker against Southampton at the Dell, scored a cracking goal and ran the show all afternoon.
Guest bss9401 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I agree that Vardy vs man u is up there. Steve Lynex vs Wolves in 1983 was special. He got one goal, Smith a hat-trick and Lineker one. Lynex was unplayable and a reporter the following day said that their full back looked a broken man when substituted.
I blame Wellens Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Agree with a couple of earlier posters, August 1972 Keith Weller hattrick v Liverpool, who would go on to be champions. 2 nil down after about 10-15 minutes, by half time we were leading. Weller a legend that unfortunately I was a bit young to see play. Howard however I wish I was too young to have seen him play.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Bamba vs. Man City. He just seemed to be everywhere, although he probably didn't play that well, at the time we all thought we'd signed a superstar.
Ganty_2000 Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Steve Corica- no idea who against but before he broke his leg and just after he first signed. For about 2 weeks I thought we had signed the best player in the world.
gregdj Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Rodney Fern V Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, Easter Monday 1970. So good was Rod that day that Luton Bought him about a year later on the back of it.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Washy v Middlesboro cup replay in 1997 Pontus in both games also as already stated by others Lennon v I think Southampton in the premier league around 15 years ago. I'm sure he scored the winner in a 1-0 win and ran the show
shailen Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Has to be vardy against United. Even I was scared watching him in that performance. Has to be the best individual performance this season.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Vardy and Nugent vs Derby in the home 4-1 last season. Both had so good understanding of each other's game that day. Both were totally unplayable.
Bluearmy888 Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 'hot dog kid' Russell hoult's debut (was it v wolves?) when he was pulled out of the stands to cover gk due to injuries. Clean sheet. Great shout
bovril Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Garry Parker against Southampton at the Dell, scored a cracking goal and ran the show all afternoon. Good choice, Parker was utter class. You always got the feeling he was playing at about 60% capacity. He had the ability to play for England.
Weller in Tights Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Keith Weller v Luton Town 1974. Scored the Goal of the season in that 4-0 win. Also agree with Tommy Wright v Cambridge in the Play-offs.
Guest MattP Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Vardy v Man Utd was prettty unreal, a goal and 4 assists against Man United? Wtf is that about? Can't ever have happened before. Tommy Wright in the 5-0 over Cambridge comes to mind as does Collymore at home to Sunderland, think Vardy gets it though given the opposition.
LAprice_ Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 It wasn't a competitive match but Matt Mills was very impressive in the first half versus Real Madrid. Schmeichel was also excellent. A few more obscure ones for you: Lloyd Dyer vs Carlisle Lloyd Dyer vs Fulham Lloyd Dyer vs Ipswich Lloyd Dyer vs Cheltenham Lloyd Dyer vs Cheltenham again Lloyd Dyer vs Man City Lloyd Dyer vs Man City again Lloyd Dyer vs Man City yet again I also thought Leo Ulloa was sensational when he played at King Power stadium last season, but I don't think that counts. Shout outs to De Laet vs Derby, Beckford vs Forest (don't shoot me), Wasyl vs anyone and obscurely, Dean Hammond vs Chelsea before he got subbed
LCCFox96 Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Vardy vs Man United. One of those days when Jamie Vardy was just unplayable. Lets hope for a few more of those before the season is up.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 To say it has been during the highest standard of football that any one of us has ever seen (ie the stature of the league) - Cambiasso at Everton this season was positively delightful. Good choice, Parker was utter class. You always got the feeling he was playing at about 60% capacity. He had the ability to play for England. Paul Merson said (so it's gospel) that if he had a bit more pace he would have done. Such a classy player
Sly Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Pontus Kaamark Vs 'Boro. He stifled the attacking play by removing Juninho for the majority of the game. In fact I heard a rumour that when Juninho went to his car after the game, Pontus followed him and then stalked him until the replay at Hillsborough. Vardy Vs Man United - 4 assists, 1 goal. Great performance and a great game. Nalis Vs Leeds - I remember he had a decent game and capped it off with a thunderbolt. Roque Junior had a torrid game. Collymore Vs Sunderland. How formidable did he look partnering Emile Heskey when we trounced them. These are the four that standout for me.
chrishlcfc Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Thought Kyle Naughton had a couple of storming games for us when he was here can't remember who they were against though.
Brooksy Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Wood vs Huddersfield on his debut and at Bristol City a few weeks later.
General Smuts Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Zsolt Laczko against Coventry. This was my first thought. Followed closely by Lillian Nalis against Barcelona.
city187 Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Frank sinclaire v Middlesbrough 01/02 what a finish.
