How much football do you watch?

Barely any these days unless it's Leicester.

As Col says, unless you are betting I find it hard to get interested.

Apart from Leicester or England, not a lot. Like to watch Cup games and local derbies, plus Bochum matches when I can get a stream. Don't mind the odd Bundesliga game but don't go out of my way to watch it if there's something better on.

Depends if we've won lol I'll watch almost every game that's on telly and MOTD and the Football League show if we win that weekend. If not I'll be pissed off and avoid it all.

About 4 or 5 games a week including ours.

Champions League game on Tuesday, Wednesday & Europa League on Thursday.

Then if I'm not out on Sunday then one or both of the 'Super Sunday' games. Sometimes La Liga if I can be bothered.

If we lose then MOTD rarely gets watched. Record FL Show and watch that over breakfast on Sunday most weeks.

I watch much less than I used to, but yeah still quite a lot, and definitley a bit a purest compared to most of you lot  by the sounds of it, I find people who just watch Leicester and England yet claim to be a fan of the game odd, but not as odd as people who can't physically enjoy watching it without betting on it and claim to be a fan of the game at the same time. I can literally watch any old shit just becasue it's a game of football from the North Leicestershire League right up the Prem.  I was bored down here a few weeks ago for example so went and watched Burgess Hill in the Istahmin and went to Amex last week to watch Brighton. Have been to numerous games abroad including Sporting Roma and PSV, and I try and take an interest in local football as well.

Used to avidly watch literally anything I could but have toned it down in the past six years a bit with missus/increasing family commitments. Although at the moment being down in Brighton during the week has seen a increase in the amount I am watching. Normally if I was at home Leicester/England are a given I normally watch a bit of the late kick off on Saturday and most of MOTD at some point, spend 12.30 till late afternoon doing nothing but watching football on Sunday, a game every Wednesday regardless of what it is, same with Thursday after training. Will watch a game on Tuesday if on terrestrial, Mondays and Fridays I will normally leave unless we have a game.

Do yo do anything else, like see friends, go out to the pub?

If I had sky sports at home I'd watch more, so I'll watch our games on a stream if we're away, the occasional European game on BT and England games.

Multi tasking. Half of said games are in the pub (with friends) lol

I find I never watch a game properly in the pub. I remember a couple of years ago the champions league final between Chelsea & Bayern Munich I woke up the next day not knowing who won even though I "watched" it in the pub lol

During less busy weeks, apart from Leicester I'd watch Super Sunday, MNF and holiday games. Same goes to the championship if I've got spare time or in the background whilst working.

England games is a must, too as well as other European friendly/competition games. I watched Iraq religiously during the Asian cup too, every 9 in the morning lol

All in all in a less busy week (1st semester) I can watch 4-5 games a week, as opposed to now it's only Leicester games.

If it's not Leicester I'm not that bothered watching it.

Sunday's I'll have it on but I won't be paying that much attention to it. I find watching a majority of games on TV quite boring and I'll fall in & out of sleep watching games on Sunday as most of the time I'm hungover.

Rather watch double Corro on a Monday night over MNF.

Completely agree. Not bothered by the CL one bit. Sky Sports subscription is actually wasted on me

I think football the sport is wasted on a fair few reading most threads.

Why not just find something else, or go to your local park team?

No I don't really watch much. I'll use it as an excuse to go down the pub with my mates but if I am at home it is rare I watch it... yesterday for example I thought I'd put the Chelsea v Arsenal game on and how boring was that :|

This sounds like me when I was in my teens, I'd be watching games 24 hours a day if I could and if I wasn't doing that I was playing Championship Manager.

I don't know how I went from that to not really bothering about anything but Leicester but it happened, you have more interests as well, going for a walk, socialising, reading etc is more enticing than watching something like Brentford v Fulham.

That tactical advancement in defensive play has really decreased the enjoyment of the game over the years.

A bad game of football is as bad as anything in sporting terms. It really is awful at times.

Football seemed to be more enjoyable on TV when it was harder to come by. When you'd have a max of two PL games a week on Sky, the odd FA Cup game on BBC/ITV and Channel 5 showed Dutch/Argentine/US football on Thursday night/Friday morning (After European Blue Review, what a show as a youngster  always used to accidentally record that)

When Channel 5, BBC et al picked up England and Scotland away matches by the game and did similar with UEFA Cup games. ITV had all the rights to the CL and you got excited when they used the ITV News Channel as an overspill for football.

Don't get me wrong, access to every UCL game is great, and I am a hypocrite because I'm a big proponent of people in the UK having access to every PL match too. But there's a huge saturation in the market. What, 20 games over a weekend these days on Sky and BT? I love football but not even I could find the time/effort to sit and watch a whole day of football when not much rides on it but mid-season league position.

I always think to myself that I've got access to all this football and I watch a tiny fraction of it. I yearned for it growing up but didn't realise that the football, although having it is great, isn't massively interesting most of the time.

As I said originally I love May. Play-offs, semi-finals, finals, final day of seasons, drama, emotion you can invest in. That's they key for me these days, I need to be emotionally invested in a match. Whether that's wanting a particular team to win, whether it's a final which has everything riding on it, that's what matters.

I remember playing far too much Championship Manager 01/02 and watching recordings of everything from MOTD to Dutch Football highlights that were on channel 5 about 4am when I was off school.

Don't tend to watch a lot of foreign football, though sometimes catch Real/Barca on sky. Generally watch most of the English football sky sports has to offer, at least the first halves anyway. If it's an absolute shocker from league 2 being played on a rainy Friday night my interest wanes very quickly.

My favourite time of year is coming up though, love the few weeks of play off games. Most of the football matches are generally pretty entertaining with both teams trying to win.

This was me too back in the mid 90s to early 00's. The novelty of it made it so much better
