How much football do you watch?

Recommended Posts

Sunday is without doubt my favourite day of the week. Me and a couple of mates get a shed load of alcohol and watch football all day, don't care what games, just love watching the beautiful game.

Today we've watched Everton v Utd, Torino v Juve, Arsenal v Chelsea, Benfica v Porto, Celta v Real and LA Galaxy v New York Red Bulls.

Is anyone else as obsessed as me?

If it's not Leicester I'm not that bothered watching it.

Sunday's I'll have it on but I won't be paying that much attention to it. I find watching a majority of games on TV quite boring and I'll fall in & out of sleep watching games on Sunday as most of the time I'm hungover.

Rather watch double Corro on a Monday night over MNF.

You were doing alright until that last line....

I watch Leicester whenever I can.  I watch England whenever I can, even friendlies.  I watch English teams in the Champions League.  Apart from that I don't watch much football.

My obsession is split pretty evenly between football and rugby. I get up and watch Chiefs, Canes and usually Tahs most weekends during Super Rugby season. I'll watch at least one game per champions league week, Revista most Mondays, one of Atleti, Barca, Valencia or Real most weekends and often Wolfsburg, Dortmund or Bayern.

That's on top of a city season ticket and a few away games (literally only a few, I've done about three this year.)

I'd probably spend the entire weekend watching sport if it wasn't for the missus but the above is about the most I get away with.

Not sure I'd watch five or six matches in one day, including MLS mind, so you definitely win.

Other than every Leicester match, I watch a great deal of PL matches, the CL when it reaches the knockout stages, Championship towards the end of the season and El Clasico whenever that's on. Whenever Denmark or England play, I try to watch that too unless it's friendlies.

I often have it running in the background while I do other stuff though. It's only when Leicester play that I'm fully invested for 90 minutes.

I'll try and watch what I can, but for as much as I love football there's so much on I just can't commit so much time for it. If I was alone, or with someone who liked football then maybe. I'd love to watch the Bundesliga, La Liga, Australian games etc etc but there just ain't the time.

These days I watch a lot of matches with the laptop so tend to focus on that doing bits and bobs while looking up every so often. I rarely sit and watch with my unbridled attention. This stage of the season is easier, and I'm definitely becoming more of a 'big match' watcher too. Normal matches in a 38 game season can just rack up and become monotonous. Southampton-Spurs for example is not interesting at all for me, where's the edge?

I'd love to say I was a proper buff with European football and watched all the games but with other TV shows to watch and balancing home life it's just impossible. Missing both the FA Cup final (plus all the European domestic cup finals that evening) and the UCL final because of events, which is gutting :(

Can't wait for the CL semis, the FL and Conference playoffs, Australian elimination finals et al. Great time of year to have all the games shown on TV.

Whats your secret to getting the other half to agree to let you watch so much football? Mine lets me watch Leicester, England and Barcelona games but thats my lot

I'm happy to watch most games, but won't go out of my way to watch any other than any Leicester game or an important England one. Usually watch the highlights of the Championship at some point every week, but live games probably 2/3 maximum per week.

To be fair, Saturday telly is pretty shit so there's not a lot of clashes.

We work in the same office and live together so she's not overly needy for attention!

This thread shouldn't be about how much football you watch, but how much you CAN watch without betting on it!!

It's ridiculous..I'm finding watching games now boring unless I've had a little flutter!

lol

Used to be obsessed with it all but I guess age a long term relationship put paid to that.

Still get away with anything Leicester, and most F1, Golf, Darts and Cricket.

She is even happy to watch Soccer Saturday as I let her have a few quid out of my betting account and she places a few accas, funny how that keeps her quiet when their is cash to be won. Although not sure she understands the betting game as her last £2 acca she stood to win about 200k!! She only needed 24 perfect results to come in..bless!

Always watch Leicester/listen to Leicester if I'm not going to the game. Don't watch European football unless it's an English club in the Champions League (although I always watch the final regardless). Sometimes watch other English stuff, but depends who it is. I mean, I watched the Everton game yesterday but didn't watch the Arsenal game as I don't really like watching Chelsea. Always watch the FA Cup final, it remains a great day for me.

Always watch our games although usually there.

Watch all PL sometimes in background though. Will Watch most cup games and also other domestic football when nothing else on. Never watch european games though

Sports science stuff?

Who do you work for?

I work for a club, and my role is to assist scouts looking to bring players into the clubs academy so it's a lot of clipping of youth team games of specific players and from that compiling statistical analysis for the clubs scouts so that they have quantitative data to use as well as their own opinion.

I go to all Leicester home games, try and go away when I can.

I watch other PL games that effect us, i.e Man City vs Villa on Saturday night.

I watch champions league games for the quality, specifically Barca and Real.

England games.

Occasional random game.

I watch Leicester on the weekend and for weekday matches, but just like GingerrrFox, my weekend intake is limited as I simply have to cut down due to my football consumption during the week, which is also job-related.
