I hate these articles where seemingly the players agent just list a load of random clubs to try and boost their clients value. Doubt we're interested at all, but i'll take it back if i'm wrong!

Apart from us and Southampton, that's a rather uninspiring set of clubs after him. Suggests he may not be great?

If a player is linked to half the clubs in the country you know it's rubbish.

Not so much that as the variety of clubs. The same player could conceivably be being targeted by 7 or 8 English clubs but not that variety. You have Southampton who will be playing European football next season, ourselves and Watford who are recently promoted, Burnley who are recently relegated, Forest and Wolves who are playoff-midtable Championship sides and Bolton who are mid-lowend table Championship sides. I find it highly unlikely that all find that player a suitable and/or realistic target.

Looking at the video he seems a steady player, but YouTube doesn't show anything other than the best bits.

One thing is for sure, if he's been at Madrid since a kid, he has something, but looks as if he's gone as far as he can with them, hence contract expiring, but being brought up with Madrid, he might be worth a couple of years contract on a free, and see how he gets on.

This, any player having spent that long at madrid should be a good player. Sami Khedeira is leaving as he can't get a game there which shows how strong their midfield is

Anyone who has been at Madrid for that long has to be decent. I'd be happy to take a chance on a player from either Madrid or Barca. The number of players either of them release because of the fact they cannot play them means there is always potential to unearth a superstar.

6"0 for a central defender hmmm. Obviously height isn't everything but looking at our 3 current centre halves who are all bigger, he's only a tad smaller than Wasilewski but obvioulsy not half as big built

Madrid even more so. They're a bit like Chelsea in the sense they let a hell of a lot of talent slip as they're less prepared to give a chance to a youngster. Do feel Barca are slightly going that way too.

Doesn't really matter if he does win his headers though. I'd say Vardy was better in the air than Chris Wood and I'd say Wasilewski was better in the air than Ignasi Miquel.

Was and Vardy are much more physically strong and imposing than Wood and Miquel, as well as having the age and experience. Now it would be stupid of me to say older players win more headers but there aren't many young central defenders in this league for a reason.

It matters. Its no coincidence that all of a sudden with a giant centre half we look better at defending set pieces. Its not the be all and end all of being a centre back but i'd much prefer a 6ft 4in centre back than a 5ft 11/6ft one.

Well if he's gonna want to join anyone on that list it should comfortably be us. Burnley lol, who'd ever want to sign for them.
