Merging Cultures Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Four more wins and we'd have been pushing top 10 this season. A touch more quality and having learnt the lessons from this season, we could do well. The second season is no harder or easier, but as others have said, we are in a good position financially, we have stability in leadership, and first class facilities. Whatever happens we are unlikely to make it easy for ourselves!
CosbehFox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 The planets have aligned; Watford, Yann and Leicester all together in the top flight.
ousefox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I'd hope the referees get some decent training. Imagine where we'd be if we had some decisions apart from in the utd game
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Just avoid all the relegation nonsense, that'll do me.This
Guest ttfn Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I don't think it's realistic to think that we won't be "scrapping" around the bottom 3 at some point. As it stands, all of the bottom 9 have looked in grave danger of relegation at one point or another.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Grab 40 points asap and then push on. I'd also like to see us take the cups more seriously, losing at home to Shrewsbury in the League Cup was very poor and our performance at Villa Park was very disappointing. Had we won that, we may even have had an FA Cup Final to look forward to this month. There'll be some poor teams in the division again next season, Bournemouth might struggle to recruit and Watford's resources are fairly modest compared to others. Norwich or Middlesbrough are likely to struggle and that's before we get on to the teams who are already in this division. Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland all need an overhaul as much as, perhaps even more so, than we do. If we do good business over the summer, there's no reason why we can't make progress next season and consolidate our position in the PL.

Such a good point but hopefully those occasions will be fleeting and influenced by the fixture schedule and when we play the top sides within the first few months.
MC Prussian Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I'd like to see us improve steadily, but in small steps. Trying to establish ourselves somewhere in between 10th and 13th spot as the main objective. And I do also hope we don't get to see such a bad spell again like we did this season in between October and March. But overall, the foundations are there. We can play attractive football even in the Premier League and we have a good set of talented young players at our disposal, mixed with a couple of experienced ones. Maintain that balance and we'll be fine.
Haydos Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Wonder what Liam Moore's future is next season? Hopefully he stays on. The lad has shown he's got ability, he needs to get his head down and concentrate on learning. Not getting into the team, not impressing the manager, not his England career. Just learning. Me personally, I would keep him at the club, show him that he's wanted and try and get him playing the same way the rest of our CB's have been. If he wants to go out on loan to push himself at some point then fair enough and if he's doing well enough to have a crack in the team then all the better. I still believe he's good enough.
Fox in the North Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Build on a la Swansea. Buy players that suits our pressing style, giving us greater depth and allowing players like vardy to rest at the same time. Baby steps.
Super_horns Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 We could do with our current manager signing his new contract before we start thinking about bringing in players!
Fox92 Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Some great games for between the 13th and 31st of December.... coz this year im going to come back! So will we sell out Season tkts again? 1000 left isn't there?
Marie84 Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Honestly don't know what I will do for 8 weeks June 18 fixtures announced season starting August 8 so guess it will be trying to persuade the boss for time off [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MC Prussian Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 AFC Bournemouth won't increase their stadium's capacity for the upcoming 2015/2016 season. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32785670 Well, they'll have to improve many aspects of the Goldsands, anyway. So why not doing minor improvements already? Increasing the size to maybe 15'000 seats with additional areas in the corners? In any case, FIF will be angry as f***.
Dan Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Second season syndrome is another myth. Some teams go down in their second season. Big deal. It isn't a syndrome. I don't think we could moan at finishing 14th again (assuming we come there that is) but I'd not want us to make a habit of that every year.
Floridafox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Its going to be a great year for the Premier League. Let's be honest, this season, apart from our miraculous escape has been generally dull. Chelsea, uninspiring champions, the teams immediately below never quite getting into their stride. Compared to the season before its been a disappointment which guarantees that next season will be so much better (going with the every other Star Trek movie being good/bad type of theory...) Can't wait that we're going to be part of it

Id prefer a comfortable 14th rather than having to win 6-7 out of our last 9 games
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 My ambition is simply not to be involved in a relegation battle, yeah we're on a high at the minute but you have to be realistic. I would be content with just staying up for a second year and strengthening the club all over. I would only see relegation as a failure next season. Also not panic if things don't get off to a flying start. Hope Kramaric stays and proves he is worth every penny we paid for him and then some.

Can't wait that we're going to be part of it Agreed that this season was unspectacular. If anyone were to try and remember it in a few years, they might come up with: 1) Leicester were good, then awful, then really good 2) Newcastle were shit, then really, really shit 3) Southampton were amazing, then good And that's basically the 2014/15 season. Nothing else happened that wasn't expected, and even whatever that happened to be, happened consistently through the season
glenelgfox Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I just hope Pearson recognises where he want wrong this year and not make the same mistakes Took him long enough to (a) finally settling on what formation to play then (b) get the right players into specific positions e.g. Albrighton and then leaving both in for a few games. Once this was settled we seemed to increase confidence and our attacking intent increased. Surely Nigel needs not to change it too much and repeat mistakes of this season?
themistocles Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Their are smart and realistic people are on this board with a footballing brain, then their are the ones who believe Leicester will be challenging for top 6/8 next season despite literally scrapping relegation. Leicester have a long way to go to be on the level of Swansea, stoke ,Southampton.
Guest Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 If we make 14th this season, I'm not sure we can push on much. Happy again with 14th to 16th
Ollie93 Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I think this year was the pivotal year to stay up with the new sky deal. Next year I'd just like us to avoid relegation again, but do it in a less dramatic fashion. As amazing as this survival has been, I don't think I could go through it again next season.
Foxymcoxy Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Pearson has always taken us forward every year so far. If we finish 14th this year then that won't necessarily mean we will finish several places higher but I would honestly be surprised if we didn't get quite a few more points. Top 10 would be a dream, top 15 or so would be good as long as it's more comfortable and with more points than this year. Lower than that and I'd be disappointed.
