King Power Stadium – Expand/Improve?

It could be smartened up here and there but chucking a load of money at a mass revamp or expansion isn't the wisest move until we are fully established.

Also the stadium atmosphere has improved each game this year, with sell out crowds. Do we want to risk loosing that for the sake of an extra 5,000-10,000 seats? Probably not.

I don't think the stadium looks tatty, but then I only sit in the main stand so wouldn't know what the rest of the ground is like.

Hard to know if it's worth expanding without knowing the cost. I would imagine we will do it if we stay up another year but feels too soon right now.

Due to the fact that amount of season tickets being bought and limited general sale tickets. They could make a deal with a local pub near the ground to be showing all Leicester's home and away matches. Of course its not the same to being actually at the game, but at least fans will be able to watch the game and wouldn't have to bother with slow live streams online.

It's never going to be a right time to expand teams like LCFC are always going to be one season away from relegation.

At the risk of writing something that may look very silly this time next year, I personally think that this time next year might be the perfect time to do it if ever we are going to do it. With good investment this summer, there is an excellent chance of a third consecutive year in PL. There is still a 'novelty' factor helping sell games out. The prospect of a new tier would add to that and probably embed a few more thousand supporters. With the extra revenues generated and the extra PL monies, it could probably be relatively easily accommodated in the books, too.

I doubt they're allowed to even if they wanted to.

Southampton's average attendance this seaso is 27k (ground holds 33k) and they want to put an extra 20k seats in their ground?

HUH?!

I remember two or three seasons ago, I was speaking to one of the staff at O'Neill's in the city centre and he said that they were going to try and show Leicester's home games. Didn't happen though of course.

Those plans are from 2013 and I suspect somewhat out of date. Probably thought better of it

Presumably the expansion would take a year or so to complete. If so, start asap. If you are going to expand one stand you may as well do all 3 (presumably the main stand is harder to build on). Take us up to 45k.

Then have much cheaper tickets for smaller games.

You can't make any plans presuming we will be in the premier league forever, we won't be.

Well we used to play at Filbert street and still all went, loved the place but it was a mess. A bit of cracked paint or some bare concrete is the least of our worries. Better we invest heavily on players this summer build up our squad and establish ourselves. We have a mid table stadium and that's got to be our next goal to finish. Stadium wise we are ok at the moment. Ffp will change and im sure they will put provisions for increasing capacity. We will need to expand if everything goes to plan and we want to be challenging anywhere near the top. Which realistically would be 3 years away.

Some improvements to the surrounding area might be nice. I often enjoy the atmosphere that we sometimes see at away games. I believe the club has applied for a license to allow the selling of more food outside which could start.

The two things are tied together. Success at the Premier level & expand the stadium. I believe City's management team will be looking at this already. The Thai's are very ambitious !!
