copunk Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Early i know, but after the buzz surrounding the last 10 games, realistically what are you hoping for next season? I genuinely believe with a few additions, keep huth and pray cambi fancies another year, there is no reason why we couldnt get into the top ten, thoughts?
EnglishOxide Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Cracking top ten is the target. Realistically I will be satisfied with a mid table finish.
1993fox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Consolidate. 41 points in our 1st season back in the PL is great. Let's look at ~47-50 points as a great achievement for next season and take things from there.
stevelcfc Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 42 points, hopefully a little quicker than this year.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Staying up and a trip to Wembley would be very very nice. I'd love to see us really do something again in the cups.
peterborofox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 If anyone Right now offered me 45 or 45+ points I'd snap their hand off
Simmo86 Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Staying up is the 1st priority and then take it from there.
weller54 Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 With the 3 promoted clubs having to adjust, we've got every opportunity to improve on 14th... I'm saying 11th /12th!..
NewburyFox Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Avoiding the relegation scrap and a good cup run to Wembley would be brilliant.
Guest Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 I'd like see us beat united home and away next season. Seems like a good tradition to establish.
ithuriel Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Staying up, perhaps having a crack at a decent cup run.
possiblygeorge Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Top 10 please. Anything below 12th next season is a fail mark IMO. But, it'd be a lot better than getting relegated i guess
Wymsey Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Same flair and performances on the pitch (like the performances from the last nine games), less controversy from Pearson and Stringer not to sh*tstir relations internally - please.
Lestoh Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Thing is, I think we've outdone ourselves by finishing 14th. I'd imagine we'll end up somewhere similar next season (preferably a bit higher), but it won't seem as grand as the way we did it this season. Think establishing ourselves is the main thing though, so I'd take 14th and a cup run.
shailen Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 45 points and a cup run. We have a very good core squad and I think we need a few defensive reinforcements and potentially another winger. So the priorities are a new LB, Huth and another CB.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 The cup run possibility is almost entirely down to chance. Look at Villa this year in the FA cup. 4 home draws against either struggling premier league sides or championship sides and a semi-final match against a massively out of form Liverpool. Arsenal have played only 2 premier league sides, one of which got relegated. Reading lost to the first premier league side they faced. Liverpool got to the semi finals having played one (then) struggling premier league side, 2 mid-table championship ones (needing replays in both) and a League Two side. Meanwhile we played 3 premier league sides and eventually went out to Villa. I am sure if we get a set of fixtures similar to any of this year's semi-finalists we'd go a long way. The only decent side knocked out by one of the semi-finalists this year was Man United (by Arsenal).
iancognito Posted 24 May 2015 Posted 24 May 2015 Aim for 12-14th with a higher points total and build the squad. The same way that Stoke, Swansea & Southampton have done and the same as we did in the 90s. And for God's sake everyone keep their heads next year. Form is temporary........
