MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 It don't bear thinking about Babs. I'm glad that our club remains pretty sensible. If Man Utd need a striker it's one who can come in immediately and score goals. Not a kid with potential. I don't get it. We're operating on a rather sensible budget compared to other clubs as of right now. However, expect us to spend big and sell big next summer - provided we remain in the Premier League.
Fox92 Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 I cannot believe they are getting rid of Hernandez. He's a goalscorer, they don't need to go out and spend stupid money (again). Hernandez should start, with Rooney behind.

It will probably have to..
EnglishOxide Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Am I the only one that thinks this season will be full of huge surprises and we may see a new team that breaks the barrier of the traditional top four. Swansea may be that team because they look formidable all over the pitch and with United, Arsenal and even Chelsea looking vulnerable at this early stage. I fully expect that those teams will be around the champions league spots at the end of the season but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them misses out. This season could be an opportunity for ourselves to do well and upset the natural order of things and let's hope we can fulfill that. The last few seasons there has been plenty of upsets early doors but the cream has still risen to the top. We won't see Spurs there but Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Chelsea are going to be in the top 5. I've got a feeling that if either of them seriously underperform then the manager will get the boot as Klopp is on standby to walk into any job and just the new manager bounce alone will keep that team in the hunt.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Martial is very good, but 60 odd mill is far too much, heck so is the downgraded 35 mill now touted. Pretty hilarious that they could've gotten him for about 20 mill a few months ago.

You think Chelsea can take 2 top 5 places.
Wymsey Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 I do wonder when the 'money bubble' will burst, and a club in finds itself in severe financial difficulty? Might be a stupid question, as most clubs are probably in bad debt, but the line has to be drawn somewhere - doesn't it? Getting bored with the money being thrown situation, tbh, and us supporters aren't really benefitting from it yet.

Any extra resources would simply be used to bid extra for players and bump up their wages to stay one step ahead from other European leagues financially. Its not fair on fans but thats the reality of it.
EnglishOxide Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 You think Chelsea can take 2 top 5 places. Woops I meant Utd.

With the new TV deal in effect next year (?), the least the clubs and the league could do is lowering ticket prices, as matchday revenue accounts for only a (minor) part of a Premier League club's income these days.
Guest Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Getting bored with the money being thrown situation, tbh, and us supporters aren't really benefitting from it yet. I agree with this but logically the extra money should see EPL clubs getting more of the better players coming into the league and this should result in the EPL becoming the widely accepted best league in the world. It should also see English club teams performing better in European competition. It should also result in a weakening of the other European leagues whilst at the same time increasing the domination of 2 or 3 clubs (those with money) in each of these other European leagues. The losers will be the other 15 or 16 teams in the other european leagues not the Bayern, Real, Barca, PSG but the Bordeaux, Atletico, leverkeusen (haha) teams. I imagine it will also further kill the English national team as less home nations players will play top level football.
ScouseFox Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 United's performance was kind of like Milktray, Una & MTWG's arse licking...tiresome. agreed hate these guys, absolutely ruining the forum

kingfox Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 We will have an orgy on our hands soon, surprised Smuts & Facecloth haven't joined the party yet. Moving on, De Guzman to Bournemouth is a cracking bit of business.

There's no point in developing great players, when the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United can just buy them for something stupid that the club wouldn't be able to reject. We're at a point where West Bromwich Albion can actually reject £15million for a player. There's so many big clubs in this Country, some aren't even in the Premier League, but they'll never win the top flight again because the richest clubs will only ever win it now.
Kasey Keller Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Can't believe the amount of money LVG is spunking up the wall

The midtable sides have spent better than usual and the top sides have spent awfully again. I honestly think this is the year you get someone like Liverpool about 11th and someone like Swansea 5th.
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Januzaj is leaving Manchester United and joins Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.
Fuch Me Moore Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Just looking at the martial to united for 36m, signed for Monaco by Ranieri for 3.6m!

The amount of money in England has bred serious complacency. The evidence is there every transfer window.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Wasn't Martial offered to Spurs for £25 million a couple of months back? Shame to see a big club with an identity going down the gutter under that spade faced clown.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 West Ham have had a bid rejected for Basel's Breel Embolo Some might say that's the Breel Deal ;-------p
ScouseFox Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 chelsea loaning out piazon to reading. madness. he's way better than that.
