MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Agree entirely with that Donut. I can sympathise with officials to an extent but when there is such bizarre and inexplicable inconsistency going on you've seriously got to wonder what's causing it. Look at incidents like Pantilimon against Leicester and explain why the ref hasn't given it, despite it being absolutely blatant, despite him having a clear view, and he just plays on? I just don't get how anyone can sit there and not wonder if there's something far more sinister at work. Looking at the incidents against Bournemouth on Saturday, we got rather lucky we ended the game with eleven players. It may be a bit early to claim the wrong calls by referees will even themselves out over the course of one season, but I wouldn't go as far as entering a conspiracy theory territory. What can be said for sure is that the officials have come up with some of the most ludicrous decisions already - and we have yet to play almost 90% of the season. Doesn't bear well on the upcoming nine months.
Charl91 Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Going to say it again this week; Rooney is finished as a top level striker.
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Going to say it again this week; Rooney is finished as a top level striker. Expect him to bag a few in total in the two upcoming games against San Marino and Switzerland. Although I'd prefer it if he'd only score against the former.
MC Prussian Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Jelavic to West Ham lol Borini to Sunderland for £10m is even more of a joke - especially at that price.
st albans fox Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Apparently chelski still in for pogba. Watched him on the box against Roma last night. Absolute beast of a player. So effective.

foxfanazer Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Top performance from Delaney against Costa Saturday. Just shows that of you get at these top strikers they'll wilt

Guest Col city fan Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Anthony Martial in talks with manu according to the FFA Over 30 mill!? 19 yrs old That's it....the world of football is officially bonkers. Thanks mate No worries buddy. Top posting recently, keep em coming..
The Doctor Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Expect him to bag a few in total in the two upcoming games against San Marino and Switzerland. Although I'd prefer it if he'd only score against the former. True, but scoring vs san marino isn't hard, whipping boys of international football.

It don't bear thinking about Babs. I'm glad that our club remains pretty sensible. If Man Utd need a striker it's one who can come in immediately and score goals. Not a kid with potential. I don't get it.
Fox92 Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Top performance from Delaney against Costa Saturday. Just shows that of you get at these top strikers they'll wilt And again, it also shows that you don't need a "Premier League player" (whatever they are). Delaney has been around a long time, some would call him an "average" player, but like a lot of "average" players he has adapated to the Premier League well.
Matt Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 I'm expecting it to be a fairly exciting, interesting, full of panic buys on deadline day tomorrow, something that has lacked in the past few deadline days. Certainly from the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, then wouldn't be surprised to see Liverpool and Arsenal make a panic buy or two - Barr Man City I think all the 'top' clubs need serious strengthening. I will piss myself if Charlie Austin goes Man Utd, he's good, but sorry not in the class that a 'top' team should be looking at. Saying that I don't really see the point of Man City signing De Bryune - Do they need him? I don't think so. Where is he going to play/Who is going to lose their place? Think we're ok, but wouldn't mind 1 or 2 signings tomorrow - Only if they're decent though, Don't want any panic shit - We don't need it. We've never really had an exciting deadline day, Oh well spose we signed Beckford then there was abit of excitment about Defoe but in hindsight i'm so glad we failed to land him.

You see, the signing of DeBryune I just about get. Though not for that amount of money. Wolfsburg are rich, they didn't need to sell him and have rightly held out for a crazy sum of money. He's signed on a 6 year! deal and God knows on how much per week. BUT....he will improve Man City...like Sterling he will instantly add something to them at a time when they are clearly paying - out to win things. It looks like they are assembling a squad to have a real crack at the Champs league. So money aside, I get that signing. I don't get Utd forking out over 30 mill on Martial. He won't be like DeBryune. He'll take time to fit in, to acclimatise and to shine.
shailen Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Am I the only one that thinks this season will be full of huge surprises and we may see a new team that breaks the barrier of the traditional top four. Swansea may be that team because they look formidable all over the pitch and with United, Arsenal and even Chelsea looking vulnerable at this early stage. I fully expect that those teams will be around the champions league spots at the end of the season but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them misses out. This season could be an opportunity for ourselves to do well and upset the natural order of things and let's hope we can fulfill that.
Clever Fox Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Utd have wasted so much money on pretty slow and average players this season. Their recruitment policy is rubbish I don't know who is doing their scouting for them. They won't even finish top half at this rate.
Ross-Kemp Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Recruitment at United has been nothing short of shambolic. They needed a centre half, spent most of the window chasing one, haven't signed one. They need a striker after letting Van Persie go and not signing Falcao, instead of signing one, the let Hernandez go and Butthead decides he's going to play Fellaini up front. The decides the day the window closes he actually does need a striker and spunks a ton of money on what is an unproven kid.

If they are lucky with injuries and form in those areas then they could have a very fruitful season. Statistically, they won't get away with it at both ends.
Jimothy Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 The other thing I don't get about the Martial signing is that they already have James Wilson. They didn't need to go out and spend stupid money on a young striker they aren't sure will cut it at this level, they already have one. Man Utd clearly needed a striker they could do it as premier league level even if that meant getting Austin. The transfer policy under LVG has been shambolic.
sdb Posted 31 August 2015 Posted 31 August 2015 Going to say it again this week; Rooney is finished as a top level striker. I've been saying it for the last 150
