MC Prussian Posted 22 June 2015 Posted 22 June 2015 Southampton sign Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham on a one-year loan deal. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/33230598
Wymsey Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Mings' price tag seems hefty to me. Pretty sure Arsenal were keen on him, too.
Big_Nige Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 8m for Mings seems steep to me. Looks alright when I've seen him play, but if that's their big business of the summer I'd worry if I were a cherry.
Freesolo Posted 25 June 2015 Author Posted 25 June 2015 Mings, seems like a Hefty price for a defender from the Championship that hasn't even been called up for England at any level?
TheSomersetFox Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Ba's gone China, didnt he say he was gonna leave Besiktas because he wanted to play in a higher quality league?
Dan Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Full of shit. African players are the greediest of the lot when it comes to money.
MC Prussian Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Arturo Vidal could be signing for Arsenal. Him and Sanchez in the same team... Chilean love-fest extreme. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/11704027/Arsenal-transfer-news-and-rumours-Arsene-Wenger-beats-Manchester-United-to-Juventus-midfielder-Arturo-Vidal.html Although I've read somewhere that in its core, reports that he's already definitely signed are a hoax based on poor translations from the original Italian source "La Stampa".
Steven Posted 28 June 2015 Posted 28 June 2015 Full of shit. African players are the greediest of the lot when it comes to money. ... and have bad attitudes.
Wymsey Posted 29 June 2015 Posted 29 June 2015 Nicky Maynard on trial at Forest. Forest seem to sign players that are 'nearly there', in terms of strong Championship quality - but never succeeded to the PL. Like Maynard, Hobbs, Fryatt, Blackstock, Burke, Cohen.
J.Lisemore Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The lack of ambition shown by Paulinho has got to be up there with Asamoah Gyan.
filbertway Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The lack of ambition shown by Paulinho has got to be up there with Asamoah Gyan. He's about at his level now.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The amount of cash Paulinho will get at that club will probably make whatever Gyan is on at his Middle Eastern side look like peanuts. They gave Dario Conca an obscene amount when he signed a few years back, think he was one of the top five highest earners in world football.
Nalis Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Full of shit. African players are the greediest of the lot when it comes to money. Gervinho's the latest player to put in ridiculous wage and personal demands when he was on the verge of signing for a UAE club. But now they've pulled the plug.
Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Gervinho's the latest player to put in ridiculous wage and personal demands when he was on the verge of signing for a UAE club. But now they've pulled the plug. Does seem to be a bit of a theme with African players I've noticed. I think it was Adebayor who came out and practically admitted a lot of them will go anywhere that pays that slight bit more money. Not saying it's JUST African players but they often do it.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 a lot of them will go anywhere that pays that slight bit more money. So like anybody in any other line of work, then?

Probably got a nice signing on fee mind.

Following on from this, our old friend Sven (who is now managing in China) is apparently eyeing up a move for Gyan. Rumoured to be offering £250,000 a week.
Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 So like anybody in any other line of work, then? Would you go and do your job in China for more money?
ScouseFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Would you go and do your job in China for more money? hell yeah
Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 hell yeah Just seems a total cop-out to me. I couldn't even tell you who he's signed for. I literally don't understand these clubs who pay players like Demba Ba nearly six figures a week. Can they seriously not do better than that?
