Sepp Blatter Resigns From FIFA Presidency

Its an absolute disgrace. What use is a load of corrupt officials voting for a corrupt leader anyway? Maybe if they actually listened to the most important people, the fans, they would realise the bloke is hated worldwide. A sad day for football.

The game is broken.

We have to rely on UEFA now to overthrow him and reform the world's most corrupt sporting organisation.

Untouchable.  The whole organisation is pretty much under criminal investigation and yet they re-elect a man that has overseen it's complete destruction over the past decade.  I can't think of a single business or organisation that would have the outright nerve to do such a thing.

Be strong FA, and withdraw now.

Wrote an excellent expose into FIFAs corruption back in 2006: Foul. Would fully recommend anyone interested by this sorry scandal read it.

Obvious Blatter was going to win, but FIFA are fast establishing themselves as an absolute joke. Still, once the FBI have got going, they don't stop until everyone's been taken down (Al Capone being one example, go after him on murder, racketeering etc and take him down on tax evasion), so I can't see Blatter lasting long (hopefully)

Don't think I'll ever see us host the World Cup finals.

I'm not sure your kids will without serious reform. Much more of this and there may not even be a World Cup in its present format in 20 years.

It was always going to happen sadly. Too many corrupt countries voting for a corrupt man to head a majorly corrupt federation.

The man is untouchable.

One of the worst days for football, really; can see this going on and on and on and on until Mr. Blatter dies.

And no wonder Blatter and Putin are apparently good mates!

FA hiding behind UEFA.  We all know Platini will talk tough and will do absolutely **** all. (he supposedly cried when he asked Blatter to stand down WTF!) Somebody needs to make a stand, and I believe that we as the mothers of the game need to do that.  But it would appear that Dyke et al are beginning to think of the pound notes.  Sickening.

It'd be great if the FA, UEFA and a few other governing bodies actually follow through on their threats and say '**** your World Cup'and boycotted all things FIFA. Bring back the home internationals for a summer instead of a tournament in the middle of the desert in the middle of the season.

You've got to hand it to Blatter, he literally couldn't be any cuntier. He won't accept responsibility even now. The guy has been in charge for 20 years and was secretary for 20 before that. He is responsible for the whole ethos and culture of cheating and stealing - it's a disgrace he was even allowed to run again.

Let's hope the FBI nail the bastard.

The FA are just minnows now and them doing anything will have no effect what so ever.

In the football world arena no one cares what England thinks politically a large proportion of the world dislike us including many in the EU.

It's ironic that Russia 2018 could be the scene for the most high profile sporting boycott since Moscow 1980.

They don't have much luck if it comes off!

It's disgraceful. Someone needs to grow some bollocks and start the boycott.

It needs to be a bloc decision to have any impact.

England alone will have little impact; England, Germany, Spain, Italy, France etc on the other hand......

Worlds fifth largest economy, home to the world richest and most watched football league, permanent holder of the FIFA vice-presidency and inventor of the sport.  I think us pulling out would certainly be noticed.  It might not be enough to encourage others to follow but I personally don't give a toss about that.  I resent that we as members are endorsing this crooked regime by being a part of it.  FIFA has shown its hand tonight, talking will not work.
