TheUltimateWinner Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 One club can't make a difference... Not a single nation could really have that much of an impact. It has to be a group of nations (Namely the big ones withdrawing from the world cup) to have an impact, or the FBI.
davieG Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 No idea why everyone is so after Blatter, even if he wasn't elected do you really think the likes of Prince Ali would be any less corrupt? If you do then you're a joke, Blatter's not the problem it's the whole organisation in general. Maybe maybe not but there's no chance of a replacement being set up from scratch the only realistic hope is that someone comes in who has some integrity and under pressure from the eyes of the world especially the media sets about reforming from the top down. It's going to take a long time and a lot of blood letting if and when it manages to start.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 No idea why everyone is so after Blatter, even if he wasn't elected do you really think the likes of Prince Ali would be any less corrupt? If you do then you're a joke, Blatter's not the problem it's the whole organisation in general. Blatter has fostered a culture where the corruption is endemic. It might be just as corrupt with Prince Ali, but we don't know. What we do know is that there is an astonishing level of corruption and embezzlement at extremely high levels within Fifa at the moment. You cannot preside over that level of illegality within the upper echelons of an organisation and reasonably expect to keep your job in the short-term, or think that people shouldn't be pissed off. That's before even getting into the fact that he has just stood to be elected for a FIFTH term, at the age of 79 (SEVENTY-NINE). Or before considering that he has presided over the awarding of a World Cup to Qatar, where over 1000 workers have died building white elephant stadia. And he refuses to take action to address it. The man is a tyrant, plain and simple.
ScouseFox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 reckon blatter knows everyone hates him? he deffo loves it. like a fat robbie savage

On a serious note I did used to get quite angry about this but you just can't anymore. As you say he's like a professional troll, and he's doing a brilliant job of it. It's a proper old school farce.

TheLittleBigMan Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Let's invade his pitch - you lead, we'll follow. That old chestnut ;-)
davieG Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Re-elected Fifa president Sepp Blatter has sought to downplay the US criminal proceedings launched against officials of world football's governing body. Seven officials and associates were arrested in Zurich earlier this week, as Fifa gathered for its congress. Mr Blatter, 79, described the issue as "infractions" involving a marketing company operating in the Americas. He is not named in the indictment, and denies having anything to do with an alleged $10m (£6.5m) bribe. Asked by a reporter at a news conference whether he authorised the payment allegedly relating to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he said: "Definitely, that's not me." And he again questioned the timing of the US prosecutors, saying his organisation "could have been contacted at another time" rather than just before its congress assembled. "I don't see how Fifa should have been directly affected by this," he said.
Kitchandro Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 FIFA have taken it to an all new level, of course the FA and UEFA want to make money they aren't charities but at least they don't destroy the game whilst doing so. Not only that the activities they are undergoing to make money is completely illegal and costing lifes Oh yeh? Champions League semi-final 2009. As I say, you're totally naive if you think Sepp or FIFA are the only corrupt ones. Other organisations won't think twice about fixing things, bribing, etc if it will make them more money. Platini's been in bed with Blatter for years, it's just now he realises his reputation is so infamous that he can't afford not to oppose him for his own future and image.
Kitchandro Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Eurosport : South Korea results from 2002 World Cup now under scrutiny - http://www.eurosport.com/football/south-korea-results-from-2002-world-cup-now-under-scrutiny_sto4758133/story.shtml Tip of the iceberg I reckon. I've been waiting for this to resurface for years. I remember back when anyone with a brain cell was asking serious questions about this a lot of people were just making out it was sour grapes from the Italians and Spaniards (and even the Portuguese). That was before it was popular to suggest FIFA were corrupt.
leicsmac Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 I've been waiting for this to resurface for years. I remember back when anyone with a brain cell was asking serious questions about this a lot of people were just making out it was sour grapes from the Italians and Spaniards (and even the Portuguese). That was before it was popular to suggest FIFA were corrupt. Even a few Koreans I've talked to in recent times who remember that match say that it was unusual. They won't flat out say that they think it was rigged (mostly) but most of them would admit that there were some very generous refereeing decisions which raises the possibility. That being said, Vieri had a chance with about two minutes to go that even I would have scored that he somehow fluffed, and if he had netted that then all of this would be irrelevant.
Parafox Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 CBA to check if this has been said already but sources say the FBI have evidence of links to Blatter himself. Really, how could someone as head of a worldwide organisation worth trillions and that he has himself assured millions to fund football in poorer footballing nations, not be aware of where the money comes from? It's only now that he says he will turn FIFA around. FFS, he's been kept in post for so long purely by bribing, albeit indirectly, those African "Russian" and Asian nations who have so many votes vs the rest of the world. By chucking money at them to provide "facilities", he's assured himself of their support and in the process making it seem above board. He should have gone two world cups ago.
Jattdogg Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 If blatter didnt know about corruption and is the leader of fifa he should step down for the sheer fact he doesnt know whats happening in his own organization.
CosbehFox Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Course he doesn't. He's in his own little bubble where the president of the Turks & Caicos Islands says he's great so he thinks he's great. He's quoted as saying it's his destiny to win the Noble Peace Prize.
Dan Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Just read in an article on BBC that as many as 18 European countries including France, Russia & Spain all voted Blatter? The game's fvcked beyond repair for me now.
Raj Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Can understand Spain voting for him cos they are spineless but France as well? Platini needs to have a word . Looks like Gen Blatter will get away with it as usual unless the big boys of UEFA stand united.

davieG Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Fifa's Sepp Blatter victim of conspiracy, daughter says Fifa president Sepp Blatter is the victim of a conspiracy from "behind the scenes", his daughter has told the BBC amid the corruption crisis gripping world football. "Nobody is without fault but (...) he's not the person who is taking money," Corinne Blatter said. Her comments come as key Fifa officials face a string of bribery charges. Mr Blatter, who has been re-elected as Fifa president, has not been implicated but faces calls to stand down. Fifa's Sepp Blatter won an election on Friday that confirms him in office until the age of 83Asked whether she thought there was a conspiracy against Mr Blatter - who won re-election as head of world football's governing body on Friday despite the current crisis - Corinne Blatter said: "I wouldn't say from the Americans and the British, but certainly people working behind the scenes, yes absolutely." She added: "I don't know if you want to call them dark forces but I mean they really tried hard, they tried in September, October last year. How can Uefa who is saying 'we are the strongest confederation', how can they not put up a candidate?" Mr Blatter beat rival Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan on Friday in an election that was overshadowed by arrests and corruption allegations. In September 2014, Mr Blatter had come under pressure to quit after rejecting calls for a report into alleged World Cup bidding corruption to be made public. Corinne Blatter's comments came as the head of the English Football Association called on Uefa president Michel Platini to unite Europe behind a collective boycott of the 2018 World Cup. And in further intrigue, South African newspapers reported on Sunday that the nation did pay $10m (£6.5m) to a football association led by a figure at the centre of the Fifa allegations, despite a week of denials. 'Not taking money'Corinne Blatter denied claims that the events of the last few days had left her father with no credibility. "All these things happened just to discredit him so that he would resign. But I can tell you in about [two or three] weeks no one will talk about it anymore. "Other news will be top and he'll work normally, as he said yesterday at the press conference he had a great executive meeting and everyone is going to work together. He's also the president of those who didn't vote for him and they have to work together now." And she denied again that Mr Blatter had taken any money. "All the money he earned he earned it by working and he is a had working president. "All these people who say that he takes money I don't know what kind of money he should take and he's not the kind his character is not like that, he's not taking any money."
Raj Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 This is what will happen though...in a few weeks this will be old news. The corruption will continue as and the bribes even bigger. That's why some one with balls MUST do something about this.
Raj Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Having just watched sepp bat away questions (was on BBC sports iplayer)NOTHING will stick to this vermin.even he was caught red handed with a knife having stabbed someone with CCTV footage of him doing it,I can imagine him talking himself out of that too.
