Guest Col city fan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Fvcksake, hadn't thought about this until now. Not only have we lost a damn good manager, we're now in danger of upsetting some our best players. The players will be fine. They do need a manager to steady the ship quickly however.
whitwickfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The only thing the players need is a tax dodging accountant
David Hankey Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Nuge, Morgan, and Konch, will be thinking where do I go now I thought they'd gone anyway!!
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Nuge, Morgan, and Konch, will be thinking where do I go now Morgan certainly might not be first choice any more.
EnderbyFox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Largely depends on who replaces him. Needs to be someone of considerable stature if they are to placate the players who must be wondering wtf has just happened too. If it's someone of the Malky MacKay / Brian McDermott mould then we can all forget it. shudder
bovril Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Morgan certainly might not be first choice any more. Yeah every cloud...
dogadug Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Vardy has said numerous times in interviews how much he owes to Pearson for the faith he showed in him even during his poor full season. Just from looking at training pictures, celebrations of staying up etc Pearson has a laugh with all the players as if he's their mates. Hope i'm wrong but really think this will have a big effect on the vast majority of our team.
Mark_w Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The players will be fine. They do need a manager to steady the ship quickly however. Villa are a bigger club than us, who are perceived as being more likely to survive than we are (now). His relationship with Nigel was the only reason that Vardy wouldn't have had his head turned by them. Same goes for Kasper and everyone he has been linked to. I really don't know how you can be so confident about the situation.

I really don't know how you can be so confident about the situation. Because the players will think contracts first and foremost. If what you are saying is some players might now leave for BETTER contracts, then I think you could be right. But they won't be following Nigel Pearson unless he goes to a club which can make those offers. And if Vardy and Kasper or anyone else leaves for a sensible sum of money then so be it. The club is bigger than any of our players and if they don't want to stay, there would be no point in having them here anyway. Pearson leaving could herald changes. But it might not. That's why we need to get a settled situation back in place quickly.
stevelcfc Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 All ask to be transfer listed tomorrow ! They did last time NP left.
ousefox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 New captain by the first game of the season I imagine.
iamafox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 When are they returning for pre-season training? Can only imagine the mood will be very sombre at Belvoir Drive.
lgfualol Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Will be interesting if any tweet about it. I reckon Huth is thinking "what have I done"
nativefox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Will be interesting if any tweet about it. I reckon Huth is thinking "what have I done" I should imagine the players will be leaving social media well alone!
stevelcfc Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 When are they returning for pre-season training? Can only imagine the mood will be very sombre at Belvoir Drive. Pretty sure Nigel used to have them back for the first week in July, so Monday; which would give 2 weeks until the first friendly. Since Walsh and Shaky are currently in charge I expect it to be the same and all planned out.
adam Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Jesus lads, this thread! Im sure they will be fine on their long term contracts. Big sam will come in we will finish 10th and everyone will be happy
maynefox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I should imagine they'll carry on with a smile on their face for the cameras at pre season. But, some of them will be concerned/wondering if they have a role to play when a new manager comes in
hackneyfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Nuge, Morgan, and Konch, will be thinking where do I go now Superb work
Rincewind Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Will Vardy still be a favourite? They have Kramaric and Karazaki now
Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I feel especially sorry for Fuchs, Huth and Okazaki. Wouldn't actually begrudge any of them leaving this summer, not that I expect it to happen. They've come here under false pretences.

They've come here under false pretences. Come on. Why are they going to leave because a manager they don't even know has left? Pretty sure they'll all still fancy their chances of playing regular premier league football, and that's why they're all here.
Dan Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Maybe they knew he was getting the boot? Who knows. I'd be very doubtful.
adam Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I'd be very doubtful. its just strange we dont here from the manager about his signings.

A manager who could well have had a big say in them actually signing for us. I don't think they will leave but it reminds me a fair bit of the Tom Kennedy signing - he ended up in obscurity and that may not have been the case if Pearson hadn't been given the boot the first time. Who's to say the new manager doesn't like these? Like I say, highly unlikely, but I'm sure they'll all be very disappointed with this.
