Tottenham will definitely dick us about they can't help themselves

Around the time Redknapp fell out with Levy, he suggested selling a player who wasn't getting a game, Levy said ok if we get a bid of £6m+ he can go. Harry said if you want that much, he'll still be here when he's my age.

Utterly insulting to King whose return to the side coincided not only with our Great Escape but with a decent run of individual performances as well. But it's what you'd expect of the rag they call the Mirror. And yes, I do think there were other factors contributed to that run - several of them - but Kingy played a significant part.

Who else would have ghosted into that position to turn Vardy's woeful attempt at a shot into a goal against West Ham? That doesn't go in and how much more unlikely would the escape have become?

If you ask me King's playing style is more suited to the PL than both Drinky and James. But admittedly he does need a suitable team set-up to operate in.

Never going to happen. Spurs are already short on central midfielders.

Tom Carroll will get a run out this year as will Pritchard no doubt, With Mason and Benteleb coming through alongside Eriksen I'd say they were pretty set. Would say they are all ahead of Dembele.

It wasn't all down to any one person.

No one says it was. But to say he struggled to adapt/make the step up.

Who was in the team during the run in. And maybe by default. Playing when we had a decent start to the season.

Yet again lazy journalism with no basis.

Class player. Offers mobility, effort, technical ability and presence in the middle. I would love this to happen.

With all the new TV money sloshing around we should spend a record £25M on a world class midfield General , someone like Pirlo...obviously gonna be a lot to pass to persuade someone of that class to come to LCFC

Nah.. Never gonna happen. We spent a year trying to get Cambiasso to sign apparently. We're not gonna convince the likes of Pirlo in 3 weeks. Also, for the £25m you could buy Kante and Dembele, and that would solve our issues.

We also can't sign Pirlo because he signed with NYCFC and is supposed to debut with them this weekend.

Thinking on from this, we're gonna struggle to even convince Dembele and Kante to sign! Losing a world star like Cambiasso is a real blow to attracting the likes of Dembele. This might prove to be the worst thing about him not re-signing. - god I'm bored of talking bout Esteban!

Firstly, the link is speculative at best.

Secondly, I've never really rated Dembele. Absolutely world class at dribbling with the ball and going past people but seems to me he never really does anything after that. Not sure he's got the best work rate either and think he could be a luxury that we wouldn't be able to carry without someone seriously top drawer and hard working alongside him.

I think his versitilaty is what's made him look an ineffective player at times. If I remember correctly when Fulham first started playing him he was used up front. The then used him just behind the striker as did Spurs, who then started using him in a more defensive role. He clearly has good passing ability, and a lot of strength and gets his foot in. He's also great at gliding past players a and has a lethal shot. Used as deep lying play maker I think he'd be most effective. Where he can help cover the defensive side when need be, but has licence to attack.

Was linked with Sunderland last weekend but dembele has already confirmed that after talks with pochettino he wants to stick it out with Spurs

Roughly translates to they didnt offer me enough money and I dont want to lose my loyalty bonus by saying I want out.

Combing both these points, I disagree with his work-rate. One of his best assets but because he's very laid back, he can sometimes give that impression of not caring/being lazy. Because of said energy, pace and physicality, he would be really wasted in a 'playmaker role' better as an Anchor man/box to box mid.

Would be a very good signing for me, lots of premier league experience and he is a strong powerful player. Won't be easy if we do go for him, because negotiating with Levy is very difficult
